About this property
Blackmoor View Cottage - sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom
Surrounded by the beautiful Dorset countryside, Blackmoor View Cottage is a charming stone barn conversion featuring high ceilings and characterful exposed beams. Set on Manor Farm in the small hamlet of Knighton, this peaceful retreat for two sits just four miles from the popular town of Sherborne with its two castles and famous Abbey. Sherborne offers an excellent selection of boutique shops, independent cafés, two supermarkets, and several art galleries, and in the wider area there are numerous quaint villages to visit and enjoy.
On arrival at your holiday retreat, you step through the front door into a welcoming porch that leads directly into the well‑equipped kitchen. Four steps take you up to the open‑plan sitting and dining room, comfortable seating, a smart television, and a dining table with chairs. From here, eight steps lead to a small study room; an inviting spot to read, work, or tackle a puzzle while enjoying inspiring views across the vale. A short corridor from the sitting room leads to the well‑appointed king‑size bedroom. With its high ceiling and double aspect windows, the room is bright, airy, and comfortable. The shower room sits conveniently next door.
Outside, the courtyard garden is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Rolling fields stretch out in front of this delightful property, inviting you to wander, explore, and make the most of the tranquil Dorset landscape.
The location is also ideal for exploring all parts of Dorset, with the country town of Dorchester just a 25-minute drive away offering a large selection of shops, restaurants, museums, a Roman Townhouse, and two cinemas. Thornford, Cerne Abbas, Evershot, Beaminster and Bridport are also within easy reach, and the stunning Jurassic Coast is just a pleasant drive away.
