About this property

Rowan cottage self catering, centrally situated for exploring the Isle of Mull

Rowan cottage is one that beckons the visitor to Mull back time and time again. The cottage is situated within the village of Salen, the most central on the island and makes it ideal for exploring the island. It is in immaculate condition, very high standards of cleanliness being a top priority. The cottage is an intriguing combination of one of Salen's oldest and yet is a tastefully updated one having all the modern appliances one would expect in a cottage, espescially in the kitchen. It has a cosy lounge, tv and wi-fi of course, with excellent heating appliances, including a wood burning stove which can also heat the radiators and hot water, although electric convectors are in every room. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, the beds comfortable for the weary souls after long days of hill-walking or simply enjoying the magnificent wildlife Mull has to offer. The toilet/shower room is small but more than adequate and the occasional low ceiling reminds one that this is a cottage that has its origins in the past. Not many of those have escaped the ravages of time so this is a real gem.
A great bonus is there is ample private parking opposite the cottage with a large barbecue area just behind in a wonderfull expanse of lawn within our 2.5 acre croft.
Within a 100m of the cottage, one can take advantage of a hotel, spar shop, post office and coffee shop not forgetting the all important petrol station, an essential for those long, incredible, drives round this stunning Hebridean island. In the oppsoite direction around a mile is another hotel with views down the sound of Mull and where you can watch the private planes landing and taking off on the Glenforsa air strip.
Electricity is paid for by £1/£2 coin meter purely covering the price per unit as per the current supplier price.
