You are in a unique power station from the 1920s, founded by Antoinette Johnson. A girl from Bogø who made her fortune in the USA and returned to bring electricity to her native island. The 60 m² turbine room with its 5.5-meter-high ceiling is the heart of the house: here you can gather around the 4.20-meter-long table by the large fireplace, built from original turbine tiles. Design and art meet history in every corner of this completely renovated brick house.
The long kitchen table invites you to cook together, while the industrial oven and Smeg stove can handle large dinners. French tiles with underfloor heating run through the kitchen and master bedroom. In addition, there are two extra bedrooms on the ground floor. On the first floor, there is a large living room with sea views and a 4.5-meter-long sofa for home cinema. The gable room offers space for families, and the yellow cabin bedroom has a sloping window.
The south-facing garden on the edge of the village is a small oasis with a large terrace, Weber grill, and herb garden, where you are welcome to harvest freely. Greenhouses, flower beds, and a fire pit create the perfect setting for relaxation and socializing. The 100-year-old heartwood windows and beautiful double garden doors connect the house and garden, where the sunsets are unforgettable.
Explore Bogø on one of the six bicycles available at the cottage. Bogø is a small island with 1,000 inhabitants and a hilly landscape with sea views. Take walks through the beautiful forest, use the bathing jetty at Skåninge with its rustic bench and bathing raft, or visit Bogø Brød for the best baked goods in South Zealand. The renovated old mill in the middle of the island hosts events, and the bird life is fantastic, with everything from herons to pheasants.
