Tom and Terry were fantastic hosts. My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay. It is just outside of town and within great proximity to wineries in the area.

We came up to Newberg to visit with family and celebrate great grandsons 1st birthday. We went on to tour Washington state. We had a great time and enjoyed our time at your property. We have stayed here before and hope to do so again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property. Communication with the owners was timely and helpful. The apartment was spotless with great decor. Perfect place to stay as we visited with family in a nearby town. If we had time, the access to wineries would be amazing and we may go back just to do that!
This is a beautiful home and a beautiful location. In the country but only 6 minutes from town so was perfect for us.
It was well provisioned and the owners are on site so could be helpful if needed.
We would stay here again if we return to the Willamette Valley. The price point is perfect for the property.

Cher, so glad you all had a great time. And thanks for taking such good care of the place.
Have a great summer and hope we see you again.
The property owners were fantastic hosts, offering local advise and additional items as needed. They were very welcoming, kind and available whenever needed. The home itself was beautiful, clean, and had great backyard views to make our getaway truly relaxing. Would recommend staying here for anyone needing a quiet and relaxing location. Thank you Terry!
If you want to leave the hustle and bustle, this is it! Quiet and off the beaten path. The hosts are engaging and want to help in every way but also give you your space. Lots of helpful information provided. Warm, cozy, and spacious. Everything you could want with some special extras like warm robes and fresh flowers. Wonderful weekend escape.

Hi James, So glad you had a great time in spite of our fabulous Oregon liquid sunshine! Thank you for the good words and for taking such good care of the place. We look forward to seeing you again!

Mom + 2 sisters stayed at the Mountain Hideaway for a girls wine weekend! The location was ideal being close to many vineyards, the history of the home was great, and while the weather was in the 90s the house stayed nice and cool. Built into the hillside we enjoyed beautiful views from the deck, visits from the sweet dog Max, and shared good conversation with the owners Tom and Terry. Was an absolute pleasure, great space, and everything we could need. Highly recommend to anyone!!
This was an amazing property tucked away in the hillside above Newberg. The home was very spacious with the kitchen being on the upper level and the living areas being downstairs. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals. We even saw a deer outside our window one morning. The homeowners were very responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property and views were beautiful! The living space was so spacious and filled with all of the amenities (coffee, creamers, sugar) and thoughtful touches (flowers in the kitchen, coloring books/pencils). Super location, just 10 minute drive to downtown Newberg and George Fox. Loved having coffee on the deck and listening to the symphony of all kinds of birds. Tom and Terry were wonderful hosts and made sure that if we ever needed anything that they were available. Their super friendly dog, Max, was an added bonus. :) Highly recommend staying here.
Excellent! Highly recommend! The cottage/apartment and the property is beautiful! Tom and Terry are amazing people, they are the nicest, most genuine people! We so enjoyed visiting them. They made our stay very comfortable during a warm few days. Owners thought of everything! Close to town, perfect location to visit area wineries, restaurants and many small towns. Lots of space! Two bedrooms, bathroom, living, washer and dryer, and beautiful view from outside deck downstairs and kitchen upstairs! Kitchen and bathroom has everything you need. Everything is perfect including decorating and everything you need for your stay!

Hi Amy, Thank you so much for the great review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay as much as we enjoyed meeting all of you! I hope the rest of your trip was equally grand and you had a safe trip home.
Cheers,

We enjoyed our stay. Close to George Fox University where our son was moving into. Great communication by the owner. The place was clean and tons of towels/sheets. The only small feedback I had was their was a sulfur smell (I presume from the well water). Not sure that can really be corrected, but feel it's worth mentioning.

Hi Brian,
I'm sorry I overlooked your review and did not respond. I apologize for the sulfur smell. Our well is serviced periodically and the water tested. Both have since been completed. I haven't noted any unusual odors since.
Again, my apologies and thank you for the nice review.
Cheers,
Tom
This is a wonderful cottage tucked beautifully in the woods. Terry and Tom thought of everything you could possibly need, from robes in the closets to a magnified makeup mirror in the bathroom. The beds and bedding are wonderful. A lot of care was taken to make sure your stay here is perfect.
We spent 5 days and it wasn't long enough. After a day of visiting wineries, and doing tours, it was nice to come back to the cottage, relax out on the deck with a glass of wine, and enjoy all the peaceful quiet. We visited with Tom/Terry a couple times and had such nice conversation. They are a lovely couple. Hopefully we can return soon.

Hello Michelle,
Thank you for the kind review and so glad you enjoyed your stay. I'm embarrassed for the extremely late response. I try to respond to all reviews, but dropped the ball the last few.
At any rate, thank you again and hope to see you again!
Cheers,
Tom & Terry
We were there long enough to really appreciate the property.
Very comfortable with every amenity you could think of, even guest bathrobes (who does that anymore?). Perfectly maintained with every switch, bulb, blind, etc. working. Up on the hillside just out of town and very quiet. Usually, a property is described better than it really is. This one is under described. Tom & Terry were very nice hosts and wished we could have visited more with them. Also, the residence pup Max is there to greet you with his tennis ball although he is still reluctant to share it just yet. We will stay there again no question.

BTW - Max is re-taking his "sharing" class at obedience school since he flunked the first time...🤣
Easy checkin, great communication, beautiful space. The bathrobes were a nice surprise. Beautiful view in the morning. Wouldn't change a thing except a longer stay!

Have a great holiday season and hope to see you on your next trip west!

We loved our stay here! It was so peaceful and relaxing. It is located on several acres with fruit trees and a garden full of fruits and vegetables. The hosts were delightful and very conscientious about the weather and how to keep us cool in the nearly 100 degree heat. We had fresh flowers on the table and fresh peaches and asian pears for breakfast every day. We were comfortable and really enjoyed morning coffee on the deck listening to the birds. The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable and the adult coloring book was a fun treat. Would 100 percent stay here again.

Thank you Jennifer! Glad you had a good time. Hopefully the next time you visit, the weather will be much more civilized. :-)
Beautiful interior with soft cozy beds and spa like towels! The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, would highly recommend this location for wine tasting in the area.
Tom and Terry’s rental up in the hills just outside of Newberg was the perfect rental for us as we spent several days visiting wineries. Very clean and well appointed, the cottage was private and positioned on a beautiful wooded hillside. We will return!

About the host
Hosted by Tom Tesmer
Newberg residents for many years.
Why they chose this property
A secluded wooded park-like setting on Chehalem Mountain, but only minutes from downtown Newberg.
Family owned for 25 years. Near dozens of wineries, shopping, restaurants and micro-brews. Dozens of two-lane blacktop roads through the hills and valley to explore.
What makes this property unique
Feels like you are in the country but you are 10 minutes from all the amenities the quaint town of Newberg offers. You can shop, bike and wine taste during the day and settle in to our place for an undisturbed relaxed evening. The full kitchen is large and open with a view of the forest. Cook your own dinner and drink the local wines you have purchased during the day. The old barn wood beamed ceilings create a rustic cozy feeling. The views from the windows are spectacular and with luck you'll catch the daily migration of the deer.
