Countryside Cottage with Panoramic Views in the Mendip Hills AONB

This characterful cottage is located in a small hamlet on the edge of Blagdon village, offering outstanding countryside views across open fields to the Severn Estuary and Welsh Hills. The property sits within the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and provides immediate access to walking routes and scenic countryside.

Entering the cottage via the front porch, there is a pretty dining room with beamed ceiling, antique feature French fireplace, window seat and dining table & chairs for 12-14. The dining room leads through to the kitchen, down one step. A set of glass doors also lead through to the sitting room, down one step, which is very spacious with stunning views. The ground floor bedroom with en-suite shower room can be accessed from the sitting room, or from the kitchen, and also has a back door to the garden.

The kitchen is well equipped with:
• Electric cooker with 4 ring hob, oven and grill with extractor fan above
• Microwave, toaster and kettle
• Fridge-freezer
• Washing machine
• All crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, wine & champagne glasses, etc


There are 6 bedrooms with beds sleeping 12-14:
1. Ground floor rear bedroom with king size bed, single bed & en-suite shower (can add 1 z bed)
2. First floor front bedroom with king size bed and adjacent bathroom with full size bath & shower over (can add 1 z bed)
3. First floor rear bedroom with double bed and an en-suite wc/basin
4. First floor rear double room with adjacent shower room
5. First floor rear twin room with two single beds
6. First floor small single room with velux window

Bedrooms 2-5 on the first floor have sloping ceilings and incredible countryside views. Please request 2 extra z beds if required (at additional cost).

Outdoor Space

The cottage features a private garden with a large patio area, gas BBQ, and far-reaching views over fields toward the estuary. A hot tub can be provided on request at an additional cost.

Blagdon village is nearby and offers a well-stocked village shop with post office and ATM, open daily from 8am to 8pm. A selection of traditional country pubs are close by, including The Plume of Feathers in Rickford, which is known for its riverside setting and home-cooked food.

Blagdon Lake, famous for trout fishing, is also nearby, and fishing access can be arranged on request.

Horse grazing can be provided on request for an additional fee. Guided mountain biking experiences are also available.
