About this property

1 Bed in Cowes (oc-ic084)

This is an area abundant with wildlife including frogs, newts and ducks in the pond the garden overlooks. A wide range of birdlife, including woodpeckers, sparrow hawks, buzzards and pheasants can be seen. Red squirrels, foxes and badgers are also frequent visitors to the gardens. There is a large ancient woodland area which blooms with bluebells each spring. This is wonderful walking and cycling area, and you can follow the course of the river towards the market town of Newport with its small harbour, arts centre, shops and the mediaeval castle of Carisbrooke. The opposite route takes you to Cowes, the famous sailing centre with excellent restaurants and boutique shops. Nearby is Osborne House, the island home of Queen Victoria.

On entering this lovely and bright holiday property you will find yourself in the light, airy and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With plenty of comfy seating, a Smart TV with DVD player and a Radio/CD player the inviting lounge is an ideal space for relaxation. You will also find a charming dining area, and the stylishly designed kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with ice compartment, a separate freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and a washing machine. You will also find a ground-floor WC and a separate shower room. Stairs lead up from the lounge into a spacious and light double bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, hand-held shower and WC. An additional folding bed is also available.

Stepping outside you will find an attractive terrace with garden furniture and BBQ. There is also a large lawn in front of the cottage which is a lovely secluded spot to relax in whilst enjoying the views or playing games. The open-plan gardens are fenced and gated but are not secure. Beyond this you will have access to the farm’s private meadow, lake and beautiful woodland where you can find plenty of fascinating birds and wildlife. A wonderful array of chickens and Indian Runner ducks roam freely on the farm as well as sheep. Children and dogs do need to be closely supervised in the garden due to the close proximity of the unfenced pond. A car can be parked in the private gated courtyard adjacent to the cottage.
