Great backyard beach for young children and adults
Nice getaway with a large backyard and spacious house. Great for a multigenerational vacation. Everything you might possibly need is nearby. Taught my granddaughter to fish on the dock and got lucky with my best trout fishing in 30 years.
This is a beautiful home in a nice location. We rented a boat so the dock was a great addition. Note that there are 2 other houses that also use the dock so it may not always be available during your stay. One neighbor was great and the other had lots of visitors during the week. Overall it was an excellent spot to vacation!!
We were so lucky this place was available on our date when we were booking our trip. I almost thought it was too good to be true. We felt like VIP with access to a dock and kayaks. A manatee visited us many times and dolphins swam by! Only heads up is you do share the dock with other visitors. Our neighbors at the property happened to have issues with their jet skis and were out there a few days working on them so it smelled like gas a few hours. Not a huge deal for us as it was temporary. The access to kayaks and water more than made up for it. The visibility in the water is great for the bayside I had the kids practice snorkeling before a bigger snorkel trip, and the water and sea life was better there than when we went over to a Pennecamp Beach to practice. There were fish and sea stars. Husband and kids fished in the evening off the dock and caught a few smaller fish too. Sunset was Amazing!I would love to stay here again when we come through on the way to Key West next time.
We all stayed as scuba divers. Plenty of room to spread out and dry gear after dives. Close to plenty of interesting places to eat and not far from dive shops and docks.
Great cozy secluded place right on the water. I gave it five stars all around. We would love to stay there again! The other renters of the two dwellings on the property were very nice. We kept the boat at the dock the whole time, grilled a few evenings on the resort style lit back patio, and enjoyed several sun sets! Looking forward to staying here again in the future.
Fantastic vacation home. Nicely located all everything, restaurants and shopping.
Host was quick to respond to all questions and provided info on the area.
Great for the kids to play in water. Fantastic view and lots of privacy. We had lots of space for nine people.
Great hidden gem, so private and everything you need. The view is better in person than the photos. Coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening.
Will stay again and bring more family because there was so much space for everyone.
Went on this trip with our adult kids. The house had plenty of room for everyone to spread out (including 3 full bathrooms!). The house was clean and we were comfortable. The thing that makes this property amazing is the dock. It is so relaxing and fun! Also, there is almost always a breeze so there were no bugs. The owners have thoughtfully included water toys as well. We would love to come back someday!!
Family vacation to celebrate grandma’s 101st birthday. Everyone from age 7 to age 101 had a great time. Plenty to see and do on the property as well as off. my mom already told us for her 102nd birthday she wants to celebrate there.
We loved our stay at this well appointed home with an old Keys feel. It was convenient, private, and comfortable - just right for our small group of friends who had gathered to attend a local festival.
This place is perfect for a large family or 2 small familys to share. Privacy at its finest, great lil beach, the back yard and dock is where we spent 90% of our time. We had a wonderful time hanging out, cooking steaks on the grill and just escaping reality. We will 100% come back again!
First impressions were: WOW look at the view! Clean, No bad smells, water is not sulfery, ample space for our nine person family. Very grateful that things like trash bags, detergent and towels were provided. Having the water right at the back door at this price was exceptional. Neighbors renting on the same property were extremely friendly and conscientious. Dolphins and fish, manatees and other sea creatures were right outside. One of the first times my kids didn't want to go home from vacation and the beach!! All types of shopping within walking distance. Fun cuban and mexican joints as well as seafood nearby. A very nice community park with playground is also within walking distance. Owner was nearby and easy to work with. Went out of their way to make our experience fun for the kids. Very comfortable to just stay home and relax in the house or yard. Temps in March were perfect between 70-80 degrees. water was warm enough to swim. We snorkeled right off the dock every day and found starfish, snails, fish and crabs. They have plenty of hammocks to nap in the yard and kayaks to enjoy the surrounding area on water.
First, you share the dock/beach with another vacation rental on the same property. I missed this when I booked the property, but it’s not really a problem. There was plenty of space.
This place is amazing. Lots and lots of space. The outdoor space was amazing. Lots of exotic plants, and beautiful flowers. Hammocks, outdoor dining areas. The dock was perfect for sunset views. Nextdoor is a resort/romantic elopement place. We were able to listen to steel drum music one of the nights.
Cold AC. Big fridge. Well stocked kitchen. Some VRBO places have stocked spice cabinets/shampoo/conditioner/coffee. This one doesn’t really, so plan ahead for that.
It was immaculately clean.
I would give it 5 stars across the board, but the VRBO booking listed 11am checkout and the owner has a 10am checkout. She was accommodating with this mix up and I’m sure that she will have this fixed by the time you read this review.
You won’t regret staying here!!!!!! Worth it! We how to come back. The people we shared the property with had come back many times over the years.

Time to Unplug!
This is truly a great property and perfect for a family or just a Keys vacation. Ours was a family getaway, and we were traveling with 5 adults and 5 kids (ages 6 -12). The kids were always busy either playing in the large yard on the hammocks or paddling the bay on kayaks or swimming off the beach or playing with the resident scallps. Sadly, Old Grandpa scallop was killed by a snail and offered to a snapper for breakfast. As bummed as we were for Old Grandpa, it was a wonderful learning experience for the kids. The dock is a neat little ecosystem as well as a great place to relax and watch the best sunsets in the country. In the evening, you can relax on the dock to live music being played at a nearby waterside bar/restaurant. The days can be a little warm so the porch in back of the hourse makes for a great retreat. The three fans make it a comfortable area to eat meals, enjoy a drink, and watch the kids as they play. The house is conveniently located next to a large selection of recreational providers offering diving, snorkeling, fishing, boating, and other outdoor activities. For foodies, there are plenty of excellent dining establishments between Key Largo and Islamorada. As far as the house is concerned, it's very spacious with three bedrooms with attached baths and a fourth room with two twin trundle beds (4 beds total). We did not realize the twin beds were trundles prior to our stay and were afraid we might need air mattresses for some of the kids. It was a welcome relief to have four of the older the kids sleeping together in the same room. The beds and bathrooms were very clean. There is a large screen cable TV with a DVD player that didn't get much use. The kitchen is large and comes with everything you need to cook meals, etc. Overall, this house provided the perfect vacation for our family. There is so much to do in the Keys we were literally outside from breakfast to dinner. We really loved the fact this property offered everything the resorts offer but without the accompanying crowds. It truly is a private tropical oasis and one of those places you hate leave. Last but not least, Martha is a great down to earth property owner. She made our stay nice and easy from start to finish. We had no issues whatsoever, but I am confident had we needed assistance she would have been there to help.

A Long-Time coming Sunny Florida keys vacation
We arrived at Martha's lovely cottage home in Key Largo on Labor day 9/5/2016. We were happy to have arrived from Hollywood. Florida. Not a long drive to get to our getaway. I was very impressed my our name being posted outside. (VIP) The first thing we did is a thorough walk of the cottage and the beautiful scenery outside. The walk takes you down your private sandy walk into the most amazing view. I was so amazed we had found her place and were able to say we stayed here. We had a wonderful time and it will be an experience we will never forget. The Perez family

Long weekend
Rented the beach house for 4 nights with 8 people. Interior space very accommodating and plenty of space. Fully equipped and comfortable. Could use some TLC outside ( hot tub unappealing with dirty cover) and shrubbery needs some work.
Only real upgrade I'd suggest is a gas barbecue vs the old coal grill. A house like this really needs it to cook all the fish we caught ( a hose should be run to the fillet table on the dock).
But overall , a good vacation rental.
