Second time here, best place ever for vacation.

From the driver that picks you up at the airport, to walking thru those front doors and seeing your awesome view, to having the best girls ever cook wonderful breakfasts each day this place is the best ever. The owner is always available to contact with any questions or issues that may arise. This was our second trip to Villa Costa Del Sol and we are planning on another stay in two years. The house has everything available for your stay, the view from the pool is outstanding. We hired Marian & Karen to cook 4 of our dinners thru our week stay there as their Breakfast is already wonderfully prepared and we were never disappointed with their dinners, they are the best cooks and kept the house immaculately clean. We definitely will be coming back and highly recommend this place for your next vacation in Samara. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent Experience All Around

We had a great stay at Villa Costa del Sol. The house is beautiful and the ladies (Karen and Marian) who took care of us during our stay were excellent cooks and made sure we had everything we needed. We had some early morning activities planned and they came over early to make sure we had a great breakfast to get our day started. From the moment we booked Evelyn provided some really great references to help in our planning. She called us as soon as we got there to make sure we had everything we needed and to walk us through the sound system and other nuances of the house. She was quick to respond to any questions and confirmed our airport rides for us. The location is right between Playa Carrillo and Samara beaches, and we enjoyed both. The view is outstanding and our dinners at the house on the patio (including fresh catch from a very successful fishing trip) were some of the most enjoyable meals of our trip. We would highly recommend this house when traveling to the area.

A hidden gem in Costa Rica

We have a family of 7 and were looking for something off the beaten path in Costa Rica. Most of our friends we talked to had traveled to Monteverde or Tamarindo. These are the places you hear about. However, I found Villa Costa Del Sol located in Sámara in the cliffs overlooking the ocean and I couldn’t resist the beauty of the home and the option to have cooks and travel included to and from the airport. Upon arriving, the home was even more stunning than the pictures! Even locals that would come to the home for our outings would gasp and tell us the view on the iconic Sámara island and beach was the best they had ever seen. The kids immediately jumped into the infinity pool. Everyone was comfortable in their spacious bedrooms with full baths and balconies. The luxury and privacy of the bedrooms made it wonderful to be there for 8 days together. The cooks included breakfast within our package everyday and lunch and dinner was separate but totally worth it. I chose the menu the first day and Karen and Marianne became part of our family by day 2. They served meals and cleaned up for us. Some days I didn’t need a dinner but I asked them to stock the fridge with desserts. The lobster dish was incredible! Sámara was what I imagined authentic Costa Rica to be. The beaches were beautiful and surfers love this spot. One day a family of horses just walked along the beach together without anyone managing them. I told my husband “only in Costa Rica”. The town was fun to cruise and I would describe as sleepy, but perfect to get a cocktail on the beach and get away from it all. The walk to the beach from the house is about 20 minutes, but believe me, if you’re thinking you want a beachfront home, this one completely trumps and is worth it. We walked with our 5 kiddos down to the beach by crossing a main road and through a village and it was really fun for us. When you enter the beach you see Sámara and walk to it. Making this trip complete, was having our hostess, Evelyn, who lives in the states, be there for us anytime we needed her. You receive detailed information before the trip, upon arrival at the airport and detailed info for tours/outings. She’s from Costa Rica and knows the people she hired to help us very well. Traveling with children, we felt completely safe and trusted her 100%. All of the locals in this town were good people and loved having us there. This home and place was magical and one of Costa Rica’s hidden gems!

The home was impecable as was the service in the home and in the surrounding areas to include Carrillo and Samara. Evelyn is a wonderful host whom left nothing to question and helped with arrangements of all sorts inside and outside of the home. This rental comes with more than a home, it comes with a service and appreciation for is being there. Thank you Karen and Marian for the wonderful food and service in the home. Our family enjoyed speaking with you and we definetly enjoyed the football game! Samara is wonderful and full of charm, we will indoubtably return!

Amazing View!!!

If you feel like living like the lifestyles of the rich and famous then Villa Costa Del Sol is the place. There are no words to describe the amazing view from the pool, it is a feeling you must experience. We floated in the pool everyday all day. The most relaxing trip I have ever taken. We walked to Town everyday. Our adventures took us on a boat ride and saw tons of dolphins, jumped off cliffs at the waterfall and finished off with some zip lining. A big shout out to Ezequiel, Mariana and Karen for taking care of us for her week. The food was delicious and we appreciated you cleaning up after us!!!! Saving the best for last our amazing host Evelyn! From the day we booked till the moment we left the communication and service was outstanding. It was like she was there with us! We will be back again someday.

Simply Amazing

What can I say- an absolutely incredible property. Excellent communication and personal interest by the owner, wonderful meals provided by Karen and Marian, personal attention by Ezequiel including personalized tours with fresh fruit and ice cold beers, an estate with views that take your breath away, and every amenity and luxury touch one could want. We didn't want to leave the house- ever. I highly recommend this property for couples, families, or groups. The property was in perfect condition and a perfect home base for zip line tours, nature hikes, and beach excursions. Better than the photos!

Lovely Villa Overlooking Storybook Beach Town

After falling in love with Costa Rica on our first trip there back in 2014, we decided to return with our family. Our research led us to the small beach hamlet of Samara on the Nicoya Peninsula. If you’re looking for fast-paced, in-your-face party towns, Samara is not for you. But if you want that low-key beach “village” feel, Samara is the place. We researched the varied accommodation options available in Samara. There are a number of funky “bohemian” type options, as well as quaint hotels & lodges. Given our group size of seven, we opted for a mountainside rental home that overlooked Playa Samara, called Villa Costa del Sol (part of the Samara Reefs development). The home is designed around and for the stunning view and prevailing breezes. And it was as portrayed in the website. Lovely. Even after viewing the stunning drone and still shots of the villa online, seeing the home on arrival took our breath away. Some of the highlights: • Driver/Guide transfer from the Liberia Airport to/from the home on arrival and departure is included in the rental. • There was access to a driver/guide nearly any time of day (for nominal fees) to transport us to town, tours, grocery store, etc. which was a huge plus. The two drivers we used were extremely accommodating and friendly. • The villa includes wonderful housekeeping and daily gourmet breakfasts. The housekeeping team were lots of fun, and food prep & presentation was really special. • The same team also offered custom meal preparation for lunches and dinners, if desired, for a nominal feel & service charge, which we took full advantage of… enjoying every meal on the lovely outdoor patio adjacent to the infinity pool! • Samara has yet to be influenced by the toxin of over-tourism, and the local who provide services, tours, etc., etc., etc., are extremely genuine and friendly. The vibe alone is worth going there! • The town, beach and neighborhood are very safe. • The villa owner provided comprehensive feedback, assistance, answers to our every question and need, before & during our stay. • Howler monkeys were within earshot of the home nearly every day, as was a parade of butterflies & colorful birds. • Samara Info Center did a wonderful job arranging the numerous activities we enjoyed during our stay. The combination of the stunning Villa Costa del Sol, its staff and owner customer service, and the wonderful “Samara vibe” make this one of our best vacations ever, and we can’t wait to return!

Muy bonito!!

I absolutely loved this Costa Rica vacation. The house and view were amazing and 5 stars are not enough. This was by far the most beautiful place to visit. The people were so wonderful and Evelyn offers the most personal experience, always making sure we were comfortable and happy with our stay. Thank you Evelyn! Our stay at Villa Costa Del Sol was amazing. The villa is very luxurious yet comfortable. Each room was beautifully decorated, all beds, pillows so comfortable. The view of the ocean was amazing and the pool was also amazing. The owner, Evelyn was very accessible and helpful. The staff, Marian and Karen prepared the most amazing meals and were so much fun to be around. Eziquel who drove us to and from the airport was amazing, knowledgeable and so nice. He took us on several tours that were great and he always had water and fresh fruit. It also helps to be with a great group of friends. Samara was beautiful and easy to get to from the villa. Best vacation ever!!!!!!

Absolutely the best home we have stayed in!

We arrived a little later than expected from the airport but we were blown away as we stepped through the front door by the spectacular view. We were treated to a fabulous meal provided by Karen and Marna who were warm and very friendly even though we spoke little Spanish and they little English. As for our driver Ezequiel he was a blast he made the ride from the airport very interesting and his laugh is contagious and he more than accommodating on giving you a ride in the area. We had 4 couples and found all the rooms to be very spacious and comfortable the privacy of having a in suite bathroom was great. Evelyn was easy to work with and answered all our questions before our trip and after with the follow up on our stay. Big points on renting this villa are first the girls! we were provided wonderful meals every morning for breakfast which was included by Evelyn as part of the rental. Second the we had the girls cook us dinner 4 out of the 7 nights that we stayed and was that ever a great decision. They had a variety of meals we could choose from and they were always prepared quickly and the presentation was unbelievable considering neither of these girls had any formal training. It must be a big credit to their Mothers. Third I can not say enough of the helpfulness of Zeke our driver as we called him all week. from his problem solving to get all our luggage on board the van to the improvising and getting a bigger van to take us to the airport when we left. Zeke made us feel so welcomed and he was more than willing to take us on any excursions our pick us up any drive us home from uptown late at night. Fourth we all remarked that there was never a time that any of us felt threatened or unsafe during our stay her in Samara. We all agreed that the warmth and genuine personality of the people from Costa Rica is a pleasant and refreshing change as to other vacation destinations. Pura Vida Baby! The only negative I have is that the refrigerator was stuffed with groceries for the girl to cook us wonderful meals that there was only a little room for our beer. I think a cooler to put beer in and ice down would be a good thing. In closing there are many more thing that I would add concerning our stay with local bar and restaurants and businesses in Samara but I have shared many of them on trip advisor and they can be seen there. Perfect vacation!

May be the best vacation you will ever have

This was our second time staying at the wonderful Villa Costa Del Sol. We don't normally go back to a place where we have already visited but didn't feel that we could top this location so booked the home again. The owners have added a new feature for this year by including the drive to and from the airport (saving $100 each way). Not only was the drive more comfortable but the gentleman that picked us up will be a friend for life. The amazing Ezequiel epitomizes everything that is wonderful about the fantastic country that is Costa Rica. He is probably the happiest person we have ever met. His English was very good and he was very accommodating on our drive to the house in Samara. Throughout the trip Ezequiel made himself available to drive us around the region (at an additional small cost) - simply a great person. The house was exactly how we remembered it to be - spectacular. It's a beautiful spacious home that sits high on a hill overlooking a thick forest down to the large beach. Incredible view is made more stunning by the infinity pool that my kids and parents lived in for most of the week. We did a couple of daytrips but most of our time was spent hanging out at the pool - too relaxing to leave! The two ladies (who did not speak English) that cooked breakfast (and the odd lunch or dinner for an additional cost) were pleasant. Their meals were excellent.. The property is really well maintained - only small issue we had was the unpredictability of the WiFi but that wasn't a huge deal as we were looking to get away for a reason. For any questions we had, the owner was highly responsive. Overall, a wonderful getaway that we'll look to replicate again in the future!
