About this property
Glacier National Park-cozy, rustic home w/ hot tub, just 6 minutes to the park
Come stay at our beautiful new home, just 7 miles from the entrance to Glacier National Park! We are conveniently located in Coram, Montana, right on the new bike trail to Glacier National Park. The home is private, with a spacious porch on which to have your morning coffee, eat dinner, and plan your next day in the park. There is a picnic table and a hammock down the trail through the yard, for winding down after a busy day outside. We have added a hot tub, new 2022, for those of you looking to unwind at night and check out the stars! We are close enough to a restaurant and pub to walk to- even following a long day in the Park or on the river. Two miles down the road is the nearest grocery, as well as the Hungry Horse Reservoir, a great place for boating, fishing, and huckleberry picking. The road the we're located on is a wonderful place for an evening stroll up toward Desert Mountain (and connects to a mountain bike/hiking trail up the mountain if you're feeling that ambitious!). The house is set back a bit from the road, with a smaller cabin/in-law suite between, and two brand new A-frame cabins sharing the 1-acre yard. The house itself is 1000 square foot, 2 bedroom/1 bathroom new construction. Both bedrooms are located upstairs one with a queen bed and one with twin bunk beds, and a futon/sleeper is downstairs. This is a beautiful home and a convenient place to relax when visiting Glacier, the last best place! The main attraction, is of course, the Park. The owners have and do work for park in various capacities (Park Ranger, guide, biologist, etc.) and have an enormous wealth of knowledge about it. In fact, Chelsea and I live and work as scientists just outside of Glacier National Park, and we've started our own business to conduct science in the Glacier area! Search for South Fork Environmental Research and Consulting on our website to see what we're currently working on. Beginning 2022, our house now shares the fenced-in property with two brand new A-Frames! There are mostly separate spaces, but the picnic, hammock, and firepit area are now shared. Ask us for a deal if you'd like to book multiple cabins.

We enjoyed our stay! It had all the amenities we needed, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked l, and the location was excellent for accessing the park. Communication with the host was great.
We had a great stay. The cabin is very cozy and clean, on a nice property very close and easy to get to West Glacier. It was a perfect base camp for our family. I was hesitant to book because other reviews referenced the noise…this was not a problem at all for us. You can hear the highway a bit, and we heard the train occasionally but none of it was disruptive for us; our family noises were usually louder! Would definitely stay again.

Nice cabin, could have been cleaner. Neighborhood is noisy and you hear the train a lot. Very close to the park!

Edward, we are sorry to hear the cabin was not quite what you were expecting. We strive to be very transparent about the property's location. We work closely with our cleaner and she does a fantastic job. We are surprised to hear that your experience was not up to your standards. We have reached out privately to hear how we can improve.
We loved our week in Glacier! Convenient location near West Entrance and a short drive to East Glacier. Cabin was clean and well supplied, enough sleeping space for our family of 5, loved the fire pit and hot tub for evening fun - not sure we ever figured out the hot/cold water system but thankful for some reprieve after our days of hiking. Will definitely share with family and check out the East Glacier cabins when we return! Thanks for having us!
We had a wonderful stay here while visiting Glacier National Park! The cabin was spacious for our family and had every amenity we needed. The property also has 2 small one room cabins on it, which are close to the main cabin but do not have direct views into the cabin. The cabin although sharing the property with other cabins feels very private. We loved walking down to the Elk fence in the morning and evening to see groups of large Bull Elk grazing. The location of the property is about 10-15 minutes to the entrance of Glacier National Park, which was great! Our family loved the rental and would highly recommend it.

Thanks for your stay, Jason- glad you loved it! We really appreciate you pointing out the private feel of each place. This is our home in the offseason, so it was important to us to maintain that sense of private space.
Positives:
-Close to the park and Columbia Falls
-Well stocked home with everything you need to make meals.
-Bed was super comfy
-Quick communication from the hosts
-Lots of towels, sheets, and laundry was so nice!
-Great firepit and front porch
Negatives:
-As mentioned in previous reviews, the noise from the train during the night and highway noise was not great.
-Neighbors dogs barked during the day and in the middle of the night.
-The lack of AC is really not too terrible but you need to leave the windows open at night and that makes it tough to sleep with the noise. Earplugs are provided but the noise was still heard.
Overall, we would stay again as the location and amenties trump the negatives.
This was a great house - very clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking (including plenty of spices and other items). The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed sitting out in the porch in the evenings. I marked the location down a bit just because the house is close enough to the main drag into the park that you can hear the road noise. But we found it to be a nice distance from the park, which made it easy to go back and forth. The owners/managers were also extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the park and restaurants in the local area.
The location with proximity to Glacier NP was very convenient! The house was comfortable and well built. The kitchen well stocked. Check in was easy with a code for a lock box. Even without AC, the house cooled down considerably at night after daily temps in the high 80’s, low 90’s, as the owner suggested opening all the windows in the evening. However, with the open windows, there’s a train track close enough we could hear the train cars rattling on the rails, not to mention the warning whistle. There are several fans provided, so we closed our upstairs bedroom window and set up a fan at bedtime to help muffle the noise. Fire pit wood is available at a nearby store, along with all the fixins for s’mores!
This cabin is 7 miles from the West Glacier entrance, PERFECT for our daily trips into the park. There are 2 large groceries between the cabin and Kalispell Airport, and we recommend Glacier Highland Restaurant for a delicious meal—bison meatballs! Our hosts provided super comfy beds, a nicely-appointed kitchen—including accumulated food extras from former guests— laundry machines, bear spray—which I’m glad we had because we saw 4 bears, but didn’t need. Bring earplugs for the dogs & roosters nearby, but this is a beautiful place to stay!!!
Very cute log cabin close to the west entrance of Glacier National Park. Comfortable for 4; futon in the living room was comfortable as well. A single bathroom for 5 people was a challenge, but plenty of hot water. Hot tub is a treat after a long hike!
We enjoyed our stay in Elk View! We drove up from MS, and it was great to have such a nice cabin to call home for the week. The hot tub was a nice touch after our longs days in the park. The native landscaping offered more privacy and a natural look.
Everything was very clean, organized, and well maintained. There were ample supplies in the cabin, including condiments, spices, bear sprays (3 or 4), extra blankets/pillows, and umbrellas. There was also plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry supplies. We left the laundry detergent we bought to pass along to the next guests.
We've already recommended the cabin and surrounding properties to a friend to book. It was very convenient to the park! The elk next door were fun to watch. The mattresses were very comfortable. Even though the A-frames are close by, they are angled for additional privacy. We would definitely stay here again!
It was a little hard to find coming in at night, but just look for the small "Hiker's Haven" sign to turn. The cabin was dark when we arrived. It would have been helpful if the cleaning crew left on the porch light or the sink light for us.
A few comments that might be beneficial:
The top bunk in the children's room is very tall and the ladder is very difficult to climb (straight up, not inclined at all). I'm guessing the homeowner made it, and while it is very sturdy, it is much taller than a typical bunk bed. Our nearly 10 year old was scared to sleep up there. I wouldn't recommend it for young children. Maybe higher guard rails or an inclined ladder would make it feel safer to little kids?
We ended up letting the kids have the queen bed. I slept on the bottom of the bunk beds and my husband slept downstairs on the couch. He said it was comfortable and didn't want to go through the hassle of making up the downstairs futon. It looked like a nice futon though if you are relying on that extra space for sleep.
There is a small black futon upstairs, but it isn't comfortable to sleep on.
We had cool nights, but we still had to open the windows for air. Additional ceiling fans or box fans would be nice. The only issue with opening the windows is the train and neighbor noises. The train comes through often. Once it cooled off, I closed the windows, and it was fine.
The cabin needs additional curtains now that there are the A frame houses in the back for privacy (over the sink and porch door) and to block out the "night sun" (small window on the landing).
Checking in & cleanliness was simple and perfect. The cabin was very well stocked. The overall view was nice. It’s closeness to an elk farm & Glacier National Park was nice, but it was very close to the road & a railroad track (so there was outside noise). The hot tub was also nice! Overall it was a wonderful site that lead to a great memorial for our departed friend.
We had a wonderful time at this property. It was perfect for our needs. Wish we could have stayed longer! The glacier guide materials that the owners left out were so helpful. If we can make it back to Glacier, we’d chose this cabin again in a heartbeat. Really felt like home. Great for kids as well!
We loved the property. It was a great location to go in and out of Glacier National park easily, close to bigger towns with dining and activities all around. Everything was listed accurately, it was so nice having a kitchen to cook and having a washer and drier was a huge bonus. We finally got to see the elk our last night, with several babies! The only thing I could mention would be the upstairs floor didn’t seem as if it was cleaned, lots of hair on the floor, otherwise, if we are ever back in the area from Georgia, I would love to stay again!
If you are taking a trip to GNP, I highly recommend this property. Its only a few minutes from the west entrance and is perfect for families. The wifi was strong and there were lots of extras at the house (bear spray, laundry detergent, bug spray). The property owner gave me the heads up that we needed an extra entry pass to get into the park, which was invaluable. We had a small fire for s'mores in the fire pit. We even saw deer and elk on the back line of the property! If we ever come back, we would definitely stay here again.
The cabin was easy to find and super clean. We enjoyed having a kitchen that we utilized to cook breakfast and dinners. Wonderful to come back to after a long day adventuring in the great outdoors! The train is very close to the cabin, but we were always so worn out from our day that we slept through it’s whistles during the night.
This cabin was perfect for our family, and the driveability to GNP couldn't be beat. We loved the backyard and wildlife, and my wife saw an elk on her birthday! The washer and dryer were hugely helpful for a family with 2 young children, and large, freestanding tub was hugely appreciated! Wonderful stay.
This was a comfortable clean cabin. And very well stocked pantry and bathroom which we really appreciated. The elk at the back of the cabin were an extra treat and being only 8 miles from west entrance to Glacier was great. No hairdryer in the cabin so bring one if you need it.

Great inside...a few minor issues to sort out...
The inside of the cabin is definitely as advertised. It's lovely, clean and quaint. It needed paper towels and a hair dryer. The owner seems to be very incommunicado. We tried to contact him several times and he never got back. Maybe he goes up in the mountains where there is no service? The road noise is not great but you can't hear it inside. The property was VERY clean and functional...comfy beds too. The location is good for Coram and GNP. Backyard is pretty overgrown so we didn't use it much. All in all, we were happy.
We were so pleased with our stay at this cabin. The porch and yard were lovely. Very comfortable, plenty of room. The owners were so responsive and recommended wonderful hikes. So close to Glacier. Would definitely stay here again!
Being only 7 miles from west Glacier was great. The yard was super relaxing where we had a fire each night after a in day in the park. The grocery store is only 3 miles away in Hungry Horse. There are several restaurants within walking distance plus a distillery. Even though highway 2 is right there, it’s super quiet as traffic stops when it gets dark. The kitchen is well stocked and there are several neat books to read during our stay. We are our meals on the porch which was great. Although no AC or heat, the house held the temps well. There is a wood burning stove but we never needed even with morning temps in the upper 40s.
