Beach Front Almost! 2 Minutes walk to Surf & Beach,Beautiful family compound.

This is a beautiful,large, secluded,safe, family compound/home is located on a private cul du sac in the JUNGLE very, very near the beach. A two minute walk down a quiet rd to the white sand beach of Playa Guiones, with a secluded surf brake (most of the time i surf with my kids or with DR Steve) The home is Surrounded by 1200 meters of lush gardens.

Wildlife galore: monkeys, pezotes, armadillos, raccoons, various types of birds, lots butterflys, iguanas, porcupines, lizards, geckos, frogs, and even a stray turtle or two! You can walk to the the excellent consistent surf and beautiful white sand beaches of Playa Guiones/Nosara.(Did i say that already L.O.L)

This property includes a 2nd level master suite,and lower bunk room with 2 bunk beds, 4 beds in all (great for big kids) ,Very Large swimming pool, and a unique 'Rancho style kitchen' next to the pool. The large private master suite with master bath is detached from kitchen area. Suite includes California King bed, and a full sized bed if needed for small children. Ceiling fans, A/C,and High speed wireless internet.(works all the way too the Rancho) Sleeps 4 comfortably.

Rancho located next to the swimming pool. This is the heart of our home. All the action happens here.... family style dining on large handmade picnic table (pechote) that seats 10, large full sized kitchen with all amenities for cooking gourmet meals or baking! Great for entertaining. Large living area with couch, chair and ottoman. The hammock is my husband's favorite resting place amongst the action. Above the kitchen is the second bedroom/sleeping quarters. Sleeps 3/5 If needed (2 full sized beds, one single). The roof is the highlight of this structure... lined with cedar and topped with palm.

The swimming pool is a built in babysitter that keeps our 5 kids busy all day, if they aren't on the beach surfing, snorkeling, shelling or just taking our dogs for a walk. The pool is large enough for lap swimming and deep enough for diving. My wife's favorite... lying in a tube sunbathing and reading. Two outside showers for rinsing upon returning from your surf sessions. One cold, one hot! Parking is available inside the property gates under a carport or in driveway.

Property is maintained by our loyal gardener, Raul. Additional cleaning and babysitting is available by our long term nanny and housekeeper, Jackie, for an additional $350/week (8-5pm mon-fri) she an incredible cook!

Playa Guiones is a unique community that offers a variety of activities for everyone. The Nosara Yoga Institute is walking distance from the property, offering daily yoga classes as well as Teacher Training courses. The town of Nosara is 4 km from the beach with our own town doctor, Kattia Porras MD as well as 3 super markets, fish market and vegetable store. Playa Ostinol is a 20 minute drive away to experience the hatching or nesting of sea turtles on a reserve. Deep sea fishing is only 15 minutes south of Playa Guiones at Garza.

The entire area is very kid friendly and appealing to visitors of all ages. Great restaurants include: la Dulce Vida (Italian), Marlin Bills (steak/fish), Cafe Paris (typical food/pizza/pastries), Robin's Ice Cream/Espresso Bar, EL CHIVO Mexican Food, Casa Romantica (swiss) and many more!

Daily commuter flights from San Jose offered on Sansa,. Only 2 hours south of Liberia International Airport.

Nosara Gem!!

We had a great time at this place. The pool is an amazing respite from the heat, the outdoor kitchen is unique, and the indoor air condition sleeping areas are a lifesaver. The location is excellent, with only a short walk to the beach, and close to restaurants as well. Steve is an amazing host, and and took great care of us during our stay. Jackie comes highly recommended, don't hesitate to book her services for the week!!

From the moment we arrived to the property through when we left, we really loved everything about the property for our family of four. The 2 minute was to Baker's Beach was perfect. The rancho and pool were great for just relaxing in the privacy of our own yard.

Perfect Location, Amazing Property

We have been coming to Playa Guiones for 20 years, and this is one of our favorite places we've stayed. The expansive property is located close to the beach and walking distance from shops and restaurants. The outdoor living spaces and huge pool are amazing. The highlight of our stay was probably Jackie's cooking. Hands down the best food we've had in Guiones, and she's a delight to have around the house. Casa Radl is a hidden gem, and we will be coming back again.

Fantastic Family Holiday

We went with our 2 kids ages 6 and 11. It was the most fantastic time ever! The pool right at the kitchen steps was the highlight of the place. Also it's completely private with so much foliage all around. The whole compound was much larger than it had seemed on the video. We became friends with Jackie and Rudolfo who made the experience very personal. We will be back!!

Fantastic spot!

We had the most wonderful week at this special home! The outdoor kitchen is charming and very well equipped. The AC in the two bedrooms kept us cool, while our teenage daughter preferred to sleep in the airy room above the kitchen. We saw many beautiful birds and monkeys right outside our windows, and our kids spent hours in the pool. It's a super short walk to the beach. We had great surfing lessons with the friendly instructors at Agua Tibia right next door. We highly recommend this house for its unique and lovely atmosphere!

Wonderful oasis conveniently located

Our family and friends had a great trip to Nosara. The location of the place was excellent, easy walking distance to the beach & one of the town centers (almost a mile). We walked everywhere & it worked out well. We had some unseasonable rain storms which were awesome under the living space cabana. Jackie, the housekeeper, was wonderful & we highly recommend hiring her for your stay. She made great food- guacamole, chicken & fish tacos, flavored rice & more. She hit the grocery for us and kept us supplied in amazing fruit!! Snuggles the cat was a bonus. So sweet. We had a great trip.

Relaxing family retreat

Couldn’t ask for a better location or outdoor setup. The exterior living space next to the pool provided a great place to spend time as a family. We traveled with an 8 and 10 year old for reference. The bedrooms were comfortably air conditioned for a great night sleep (that will be the only time you spend inside). Bakers Beach entry was a very short walk down the street. With a golf cart rental you can easily get around Nosara to eat, shop, etc. The host Stephen was very informative and available at all times to answer questions. His daughter in Nosara was also able to set us up on multiple outdoor adventures. Lastly, if you can, hire Jackie to help out during the week. She made several local inspired meals for us and they were amazing! Can’t wait to go back.

Open air life!

Property was our favorite so far after 8 years in Guiones- great location, excellent and unique kitchen living area, fabulous pool. Jackie and Raul are 5 stars each, the cat, Snuggles, lived up to his name and slept in the arms of our daughter every night. My only complaint is that the sleeping area above the kitchen should not be counted as a bedroom- raccoons and bugs will wake you all night and the mosquito nets are not adequate to prevent pests. To say it comfortably sleeps 12 isn’t really fair- I would say 4 adults and 4-6 young kids yes… we ended up with all our grown children piled on top of each other, and us, in the two true bedrooms. It was a fun adventure- but no privacy or private space for anyone. As long as you’re prepared for that- and for no private bathrooms- you will love it! I would still give it 5 stars because we left happy and healthy ❤️

Perfect Family Vacation

First time to Costa Rica and very pleased we found this spot. Steve is very responsive and made the entire trip seamless even traveling with 4 boys under the age of 11. Jackie was wonderful and comes highly recommended as well. The house is situated in a safe and friendly area. The wild life was unbelievable and reflects the term "gentle jungle" very well. This was the first vacation that I have ever taken and came home "relaxed". My boys took naps every day after morning surfing in the rancho, THIS DOSNT HAPPEN AT HOME ! The pace of the area was great and allowed us to take a break and have family time. We surfed, zip lined, took beach walks and took rides to the shops every day. The yoga institute is a 3 min ride up the road, my wife dropped in a couple days. The guys at the surf school next door were great and we could walk next door and grab body boards, surfboards etc anytime for rent. We rented a golf cart which Steve said would be fun for the kids and it was ! If you need to go far Luis from Guiones Transport is a phone call away. We didn't venture out too far out of the Playa Guiones area because we loved the area so much. This place is so hard to describe but you have to experience it. The jungle animals and beach are amazing however the people from Jacky to Rudolpho our gardner and the people in the area make the spot that much better. Thanks again Steve for a lifetime of memories and we will be back ! Pura Vida

Amazing Family Vacation

Words cannot truly express how amazing this property is. The house was incredibly clean, the grounds were beautiful, and Jackie was so helpful. Steve was available whenever we had a question and Jackie cooked delicious meals for us- definitely have her cook for you! My children loved the pool and we were a short walk to the beach. The master bed was so comfortable and the couches in the Rancho were great for lounging. Pebbles the cat snuggled with my kids and we saw wildlife every day (birds, geckos and even monkeys). I highly recommend this property. It was perfect for my family of 5.

beautiful Playa Guiones

This house is a real gem in the "classic" Costa Rican style. The interior accommodations are simple and functional, great A/c. However, we were never inside except to sleep because the outdoor cabana living room and kitchen and the pool area are divine. The location is perfect short walk to the beach, we hired Jackie to help us with cooking and that was the best decision we made the whole trip. All day surfing, yoga, relaxing and delicious home cooked food. Could not have asked for a more perfect vacation.

It doesn't get better than this!

This was the perfect house for our big group. The rancho was the gathering place throughout the day, and going between that and the pool was so relaxing. The most relaxing part for me though was having Jackie around to help us out. She made sure the fridge was full of food to keep all our teens fed, provided us with local information and was an all around pleasure to get to know. The rooms where well appointed and very comfortable and our teens felt like they we camping in the jungle, sleeping in the rancho. The location can't be beat, we never had to use the car, everybody could simply walk out the gate and choose their own adventure, go to the beach, find a smoothie, ride a bike, etc.... Thank you Steve, this was a perfect trip, and we look forward to a return visit.

Amazing Experience

This was the perfect rental. You open the large gates into complete paradise. Steve was so helpful in getting everything set up for us. He gave us contacts to set up our Zipline and ATV tour. The walk is about 2 minutes to the beach and went down there at least twice a day for surfing. The surf shop Agua Tibia is right next store so we could rent boards for the week. Jackie, the cook, was incredible. She makes amazing salsa and guacamole. She would make lunch and dinner for us so everything was done when we were home from sunset. Rent a golf cart or ATV to travel around the town. This place was great and Steve was so helpful and in constant contact to make sure everything went smoothly for us!! Best family vacation ever!!

Casa Radl is a perfect family compound a short walk to one of the best surfing beaches in the world. It’s one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen. The pool is great for laps and there’s yoga and tennis close by. We stayed a month and loved every minute. Definitely hire Jacki she is an outstanding chef.

Best location ever!

I cannot express what an amazing vacation we had! Casa Radl is situated in the best possible location! We walked to the beach multiple times a day for a surf! Our group was traveling with 5 children (under 5 years old... yes, we are crazy) and all of us were able to trade off the kids so we could get in some surfing! Jackie was quite possibly the best part of the trip! She cooked dinner for us every night so we could enjoy the sunset on the beach and return to the house and have dinner ready! This made getting all the kids to bed in a timely manner possible. Ask her to make salsa! It is amazing! The pool offered hours of entertainment as well. Just as a caution for anyone traveling with little kids... we had eyes on the pool at all times. It is right there, easy for them to sneak into! Stephen was very accommodating and was gracious with our many calls and emails prior to arriving! ;) Thank you for your patience with us! We will be returning at some point, may be when the kids are a little older! Also to clarify the room situation. There are 3 rooms with air conditioning, and 1 room above the kitchen/living area that is open to air. We actually stayed in the room above the kitchen. It was wonderful. A little breezy a few nights, but overall we loved it!

Best Family Vacation EVER!

This was our last chance at a family vacation before our daughter goes off to college. Needless to say we wanted to create memories and have some down time. Steve's home is located in a little beach town and next door to a surf school. Easy walk to the beach 1-2 minutes. The local restaurants serve farm to table incredible dishes. Honestly, we pick our vacation destinations based on animal adventures. We experienced cats, dogs, monkeys, horses, birds, crocodile, the list could go on. It was truly an exceptional experience. The home is set up to enjoy the time outside. The pool is HUGE. The home has privacy on all sides with the backyard is green belt. The kitchen with JACKIE was my favorite. She cooked some meals for us and she was better than the restaurants! The bedrooms all had AC, which is critical for sleeping. Steve was incredible to work with and very accommodating. He helped with ideas for adventures and where to eat. We traveled from Seattle Washington, not too far yet far enough to get away and warm up. Thank you Steve for sharing your home with us. We are grateful!

Great family beach/surf vacation place

We rented this place for two weeks in November 2017 and it was great. The location is excellent, the outdoor patio ("rancho") and pool area is fabulous (as is Jackie the cook), and Steve the owner is responsive and helpful. Right next door is Agua Tibia surf school, which took good care of those of us trying surfing for the first time (including a pair of six year olds). The place is generally clean and well maintained, although it is aging and a bit cramped if you fill the living spaces to capacity. Functional, not fancy.

A wonderful week

Casa Radl is well located in a quiet section of Guiones Beach. We spent a week there with our two adult children. It is a wonderful spot to stay for a Costa Rican surf adventure as it is a very short walk to the beach. We loved the outdoor Rancho Living Room and its' close proximity to the pool. Our girls thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of sleeping in the open air upstairs of the rancho. Jackie and Fernando were amazing and our daughters fell in love with Pebbles the cat. Steve, the owner, was extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Definitely the place to stay if you are looking for an authentic Nosara adventure.

You can't get any closer to the surf

This place is our heaven. You can't get any closer to the surf. I just love this place so much, I almost don't want to share my little secret heaven in the jungle. My hubby and I have stayed here a few times over the years - and - we just got back from a big group trip to Nosara where we rented 5 different houses and rooms in 4 different hotels, and let me tell you that this place is really the gem of them all. Okay let's just keep that between us? Cool. Our little secret. Please hire Jackie because she keeps it all safe and clean and perfect :)

Great spot, lot's of room to spread out and relax!

Steve was great to deal with from the start! Answered lots of questions and provided great info on the area - before we had booked. We had two families staying 4 adults and 5 girls, and there was plenty of room with the extra cabin across the road. Whatever you do, hire Jackie for the week. She is a great cook, and not having to worry about shopping and prep made the days much easier. We've only been home a couple days, but miss it already!

Care-free family vacation!

We were a few families who stayed in a few different houses. We used this amazingly beautiful and well designed compound as our landing and launching point to all the attractions and lazy days. Jackie was such an asset to have on hand as we had children who needed constant feeding. Surfing was outstanding and the rental shop next door added to the ease of our stay. Surf and Yoga mecca

So my family of five (17, 15, 10 year old kids) rented Casa Radl for a week in March. We all had a great week (minus a little local stomach bug that caught the wife and kids) surfing w/ Agua Tibia surf school , doing yoga at the Nosara Institute, horseback riding up the beach and just chillin' by the pool. Rodolfo the gardner is a saint (super nice guy) and Jackie is a great chef...definitely have her make some fresh guacamole / salsa...

Retreat like Property!

We have traveled extensively through Costa Rica and have now found our favorite place in Nosara/Playa Guiones: Casa Radl! This property has it all. It is safe, which is an absolute MUST in Costa Rica, it is right by the beach, it is reasonably priced considering it sleeps up to 12 people, it has a huge pool with an outdoor lounge/kitchen/dining set up for a large group, there are bicycles provided to get around, the housekeeper and gardener are loyal and so helpful and one feels secluded even though the walk to local restaurants, markets and shops is a short one. Casa Radl is the perfect retreat for anyone who enjoys tropical living.

My name is Steve Radl, and I am married to Danielle Radl, my college sweetheart. We have a large family, ranging from 23 years old to 10 years old, all the kids surf, and we decided that we wanted a beautiful vacation spot for our family to enjoy. After growing up in the South Bay and Hawaii, My wife and myself wanted something that reminded us of our growing up years:) and Nosara seemed like the perfect paradise. It had all the tropical beauty of Hawaii and the infrastructure of the South Bay.

What makes this property unique

One of our favorite things is the down time. The kids all have busy lives between a full academic schedule as well as the club sports that they play. The family gets to relax, reconnect, and just enjoy life.
