About this property

B&B on a ship

The B&B is a bedroom with a 200x160 queensize bed and a bathroom on an old ship. And there is a water cooker to make coffee or tea. It's very suitable for a couple.
The ship is over a hundred years old and has been recently renovated.
The Morgen Ster is an iron ship, seven minutes walk from the Central Station. Although it's in the heart of the centre, the location has the feel of the country side. A large part of the city is easy to reach on foot. Within ten minutes one can walk to the Central Station, The Dam Square, The Waterloo Square, The Portugese synagoge, the red light district, the Nieuwmarkt, The Rembrandt house.

The front door has a lock with a code. Check in time is 3 pm or later, check out time is 11 am.

Although it's called a Bed and Breakfast, no breakfast is being served. All in all it's quite small, but very cute and comfortable.

Please be aware that the neighbours walk over the roof of the B&B on the way to their homes. It's part of living on a ship in the centre of Amsterdam.

Elderly guests must be aware that you can't walk around the bed. Also you have to step up the ship and there is a small stairway you have to descent.

The B&B is not suitable for pets.

We had such a lovely time staying in Maartens accommodation. It was a perfect base for our weekend visit. The accommodation, itself, was clean and tidy and very comfortable - staying on a boat was a treat and the location perfect for all our needs - really close to central station and it felt like the whole of Amsterdam was on our doorstep. Maarten was great to work with. The location was perfect and convenient to walk everywhere. The only thing that would have made the stay perfect, would be a bit of outdoor seating. Being able to sit outside and relax and watch boat traffic would have been wonderful. I’d stay here again.

Very cool place Maarten has! Unique opportunity to stay somewhere other than a hotel. Convenient location near Amsterdam Central Train station and an easy walk into Amsterdam city. The room was clean, had air conditioning and Netflix. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Amsterdam.
