About Laura Wiens
Before moving to Hawaii in 2014 for my husband's job, we lived in Crescent City for 6 years. We always thought this remote coastal town in Northern California would be a great place to retire. Now that we own a house here, we are closer to that reality. But in the meantime we are happy to offer our guests the chance to experience what this area has to offer in its natural scenic beauty. As an editor, Richard is coming up on 40 years in the newspaper business. Once he retires, he plans to become a published author of short stories and novels. I am an established artist and sell my oil paintings in several galleries in Hawaii, as well as in Carmel and Crescent City. Richard is a native of Salem, Ore., and a graduate of the University of Oregon. I was born and raised in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, and spent my teens and early 20s living on Cape Cod, Mass. We both love to hike, travel and spend time with our 6 adult children and 6 young grandkids.

Perfect Beach Getaway!
Great location for a nice little beach vacation. Nice quiet, comfy house with beautiful views. Easy check in, and everything we needed. It was just perfect. We really enjoyed our stay, and will be back again!!
Beach house Bliss
Great location And wonderful views. Crescent City has many scenic sites and a comfortable environment. Redwoods and ocean shoreline make it a virtual wonderland
Fabulous stay at Deep Purple
Lovely home located right on the coast with beach access, gorgeous views, and a small drive to the Redwoods you literally have everything at your finger tips. Nice clean home with great amenities and features. Loved the built in seating area on the front porch, amazing large windows to watch the sun rise and set regardless of weather. Awesome back yard with fruit trees, privacy, and a bbq. We truly enjoyed our stay, the hosts were incredibly helpful, accommodating, and made our stay extra special. Highly recommend this place for a romantic getaway or a family vacation to the coast and/or Redwoods. There is so much to do and see!
We always enjoy Crescent City this was the first time renting a house. Really enjoyed having a fridge and kitchen to cook. Very
relaxing view and close to the beach.
Amazing place! It was squeaky clean, decorated with some fine Art Work, beautiful views from kitchen and living room, and much more to numerous to mention. This was the most stocked house I ever rented this place had. Just about everything you would ever need. We had a wonderful and relaxing experience
We had a wonderful stay at the deep purple house with beautiful ocean front view! The property was clean and comfortable. The proximity to the redwoods plus chilly walks on the beach were a bonus. Highly recommended!
Enjoy world-class hiking or mountain biking on well-maintained trails through old-growth redwoods -- often encountering absolutely no one else! Other incredibly scenic trails trace the coastline.
Fish, raft or have a picnic on the banks of the pristine Smith River nearby. (When the coast gets foggy, sunshine and a 20-degree temperature increase are just minutes away along the Smith -- and the Klamath River is 20 minutes south of town.)
There's a lot to do right in Crescent City: Tour picturesque Battery Point Lighthouse (built in 1865), drive, bike or walk to Point St. George, or stroll along South Beach, a surfers' paradise. There are several nice -- and affordable -- restaurants.
