Family-friendly, 1 mile from Intercourse Village and Kitchen Kettle PA

Relax and enjoy our guest house in the beautiful Lancaster County countryside. This spacious home is perfect for large families and is close to it all with lots of beautiful sightseeing in the Amish community and the village of Intercouse. On the main floor you can enjoy cooking in our well stocked kitchen and enjoy each other’s company at the large dining room table that seats 12. (We also keep a child’s high chair there if needed) Also on the main floor is a large living room with a flatscreen tv, a full bathroom, laundry room and an enclosed office with a futon bed. The upstairs consists of 5 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The large backyard is perfect for family games and campfires. (Firewood provided) There’s plenty to see and do or just relax on the front porch and enjoy the surrounding fields and pastures and watch the buggies go by. We would be honored to have you as our guest!

Nearby:we are one mile from the village of Intercourse where you can find the well known kitchen kettle village, an Amish grocery store, a community park, and many unique shops and dining.
Enjoy some fresh homemade ice cream from Lapp Valley Farms only 2.6 miles away. (They also have a brand new location as of August 2022, only one mile down the road!) If you go at the right time you can watch the cows being milked or watch them make ice cream!
Sight and sound theater is 8.2 miles.

Very well-equipped kitchen. Amazing laundry room. Spacious rooms-I was able to fit a full-size folding table in the dining area with room to spare. Great outdoor space. Close to tourist sites and markets. My family ages 2 to 59 loved it! Only negative was noise at night from the road that runs by the house, but you get used to it and there are SO MANY pluses.

Family Stay

We enjoyed being able to stay in a home that allowed our family to stay in one location. There were plenty of rooms for us. We also enjoyed being able to enjoy watching movies together in the living room and sharing meals in the dining room.

Great for extended family

We had a lovely visit with my parents, kids, aunt and uncle. The house was cozy and clean and big enough for 11 of us to spread out, even though we spent most of our time visiting in the large kitchen around the table. It was the perfect setting for our after-Christmas family trip to sight and sound theater. Thank you for the delicious gingerbread cookies. Highly recommend this home to large families. We would love to come visit again next year!

Full of love and joy

We enjoyed meeting John and his family. Each room of the house is welcoming and comfortable. We appreciate the opportunity to stay in this beautiful house. One thing to note is there are a lot of steps. Thank you Esh family!

Beautiful home close to lots of attractions. Very easy to book. The owner and manager were both extremely friendly and easy to reach with all of our questions. Can't wait to book another stay. Oh and the shoofly whoopee pies were the best ever....

Girls weekend

Perfect for a girls weekend. We have been friends since childhood and wanted a local getaway. Some of us needed to leave for children’s sports activities so it was nice to be local. House was very clean and spacious. Thanks so much!

Lancaster living at its best

This property is great in both its amenities and location! Very close to kitchen kettle village and just about everything else in Lancaster as well! The owner and property manager were very accommodating and communicated with us very quickly throughout the entire process! Will definitely stay again when we return to Lancaster!

Family Christmas in Amish Country

We were a family of ten: grandparents, parents, and children who chose this house as our place to celebrate Christmas a few days after the holiday itself. The location is great, convenient to attractions in Lancaster County. The house is spacious and well kept. We were given a warm welcome, which included some home-made treats left for us on our arrival. We appreciate that all of the linens are supplied and we did not need to wash them before our departure. We would seriously consider booking this house again for another holiday gathering. Thank you to our VRBO hosts!

Absolutely perfect Lancaster home!

We absolutely loved our stay in this home. Every single detail was carefully thought out and there was nothing that we could have wanted. We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious house, huge backyard, seeing the horses and getting to meet the owner's parents. The house was immaculately clean and decorated with so many special touches, including the delicious woopie pies. The owners/property manager replied to messages extremely fast. We look forward to staying again on our next trip to the area and will definitely recommend to others.

Great location and stay!

This home was perfect for my family that included five adults and four children all five and under. Well stocked with lots of space. The kids enjoyed seeing the buggies go by and the horse and bunnies belonging to the Esh’s. We were greeted with homemade Whoopi pies and water and coffee for our use. Great stay

We had a fabulous time staying at the Esh Guesthouse. The home was very clean and well-equipped for our 6 adults and 6 children. The beds were some of the most comfortable we've slept on. Our grandchildren said they enjoyed playing in the yard behind the garage, playing games around the big family table and feeding the pony Mason. Check-in and check-out were smooth and easy. Verna was super responsive to any inquiries, and we enjoyed meeting John, Elmer & Leena as well. If you're looking for a place to stay, be sure to consider the Esh guesthouse.

Absolutely Perfect

We come to Lancaster for Sight and Sound every year. We’ve stayed a few places, but this was by far the best. The location was conveniently located near restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and the theater. It was exceptionally clean. The beds were impressively comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with supplies and some basic pantry items. The rooms were spacious. Lastly, the hospitality was unmatched. We enjoyed getting to know the owners’ parents who live next door as well. They are some of the sweetest people you’ll meet. When we come back next year, we plan to stay here if it’s available.

Annual Siblings Getaway

We’re a family of 5 siblings. One brother and five sisters. Ages 59-75. This year we chose Lancaster as our two night getaway (siblings only) and fell in love with this beautiful house! The cleanest rental we have ever experienced, well organized and every necessity you can think of is provided! Not to mention a delicious baked good waiting for us! The location was ideal and the home was utterly perfect for the 5 of us. Lots of memories, laughs and love were shared and we will be back next year as we’ve found a gem!

Lovely, relaxing home away from home. Very nice owners.

This guest house was perfect and had everything that my family needed!! It was spotless and had all the conveniences of home. All of my family slept great on the comfortable beds. They have lots of supplies stocked and ready to use. We loved coming home after our daily adventures and relaxing. It was great to be able to sit out on the porch in the morning or evening and see the horse and buggies pass by. The owners were great and very friendly, nice people. The homemade shoofly whoopie pies were so good!! If your looking for a home away from home while visiting the Lancaster, Amish Country area you have to check this place out, you won't be dissapointed.

Exceeded our expectations!

I honestly can not say enough about how amazing of an experience we had! To start, check in was incredibly easy! When we got into the house we were blown away by how neat, and spacious the house was! We were greeted with Shoofly Whoopie pies, which were incredibly delicious, along with a note to welcome us. The fridge was stocked with cold waters, and creamers. There was a wide variety of different coffee, and hot chocolate pods for us. The pantry was also stocked with cereal and different snacks! The view out of the front of the house was great! The kids really enjoyed checking in on the animals each morning! We were very pleasantly surprised by the amount of toys that were left for the kids to play with! Our children ranged in age from 6 months-11 years old and there was something for everyone. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable! We all slept wonderfully! I can not stress enough how wonderful this house is! Honestly, look no further for your vacation house! This house is in a great location, and the perfect size! I do want to add, although we did not have the time for the offer, there is a note in the kitchen that tells you who to contact for a traditional Amish Dinner. We would 100% have done that if our stay was longer.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this house. It’s absolutely spotless and very comfortable. It is close to shopping, coffee, shops, restaurants… pretty much everything you need. We will definitely plan to stay here again. The host is very accommodating and provides great communication.
