Thanks much Jim. We sure enjoyed having your family stay there and loved seeing the pictures of the nice fish you and your daughter caught from the dock!
We rented this house for a family vacation with some family friends and it could not have been better!!! They have the greatest little spot! We will be back next year!

We’re thrilled your family enjoyed the dock, beach, lake, and cabin. We’re very fortunate to have such a beautiful recreational area for family time
Check in was fast and easy. Cabin was very clean. Owner was staying next door and she promptly addressed minor issues we had. Only somewhat major issue was shower in main bathroom was broken during our stay. The small shower in the bathroom off the bedroom worked so we all used it.
Lovely cabin right on the lake. We are anglers so being able to sit on the porch and watch the lake for rising trout was wonderful. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The house was great for us, beds quite comfortable, kitchen well stocked. Perfect trip for us!

Kathy thank you for choosing Vivs place- it was lovely meeting you and your family.
We loved staying at Georgetown and making long lasting memories with 4 of my grandkids and their parents. This is an ideal setting for fishing, tubing, hiking and ziplining!! And most importantly a family follow-up to the Olympic Games. Hosts are super attentive and the property is outstanding! Will def book again

Thanks Kathy- we loved that your family had as much fun with games and crazy fun competitions as our family always does when we get together at the lake! Your great use of the campfire area made us so happy- that’s what it’s there for!!
The morning and evening views over the lake were spectacular!
The cottage was clean and neat and had everything we needed.
It was a great place for some old high school friends to tell tall tales. We caught some nice rainbows from our boat as well.

Thank you Bob! Always a pleasure to have you and your friends staying at Vivs Place!
We loved this place so much! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! Having the lake, practically out your door, was definitely a plus. The teens loved the paddle boat, and water trampoline, and fishing. My husband enjoyed the kiyak, and I enjoy sitting on the beach enjoying the beautiful view. The house was very clean, and the hosts, Cherie and Bina were very sweet, and answered all our questions promptly. We would definitely stay at the little piece of heaven againđź’•

Thank you so much for your review! We loved having you stay at Vivs place and are so glad you found it as enjoyable for your family as it is for us
We had never been to the Georgetown Lake area before and now that we have been - we will certainly be back. This place was perfect for our stay. There were 10 of us that stayed for 6 days and it fit us perfectly! The owners of this home are delightful to work with and very accommodating. We had the opportunity to visit with them during our time there and enjoyed our time with them! We love that everything was labeled in the house so everything was easy to find. There were plenty of activities to keep everyone busy when we weren't on the boat. We would defiantly rent again!

Thank you for the thoughtful review- we loved having your two families stay at Viv’s Place!
If you are looking for a relaxing lake stay, this is not it.
Mouse droppings (old and new), dirty dishes, appliances that don't work, dirty toilets, home smelled like weed, no toilet paper or towels, no garbage bags, moldy shower curtain, neighbor dogs barking incessantly.
We actually left early and requested a refund for one day (although refunding the entire stay would have been appropriate). The owner's refused even after acknowledging the issues.
This was an incredibly negative experience for our family and ruined our trip. When even your kids think camping outside is way cleaner than staying in a cabin, there is obviously a problem.

We strive to provide an enjoyable experience for guests and are sorry the renter did not enjoy their stay as our other renters over the past 6 years have. We take concerns seriously, but we found comments in the posting to be disingenuous. When we contacted our cleaner she provided proof that the dishwasher had been cleaned and emptied of dishes. It appeared the renter had inadvertently used liquid dish soap instead of the provided dishwasher detergent and then stopped the wash cycle without notifying us of the issue. When we restarted the dishwasher post stay, suds cascaded out of dishwasher across the kitchen floor so we can understand their error would have been as concerning for them as it was for us. While a mountainous setting can result in an occasional unexpected inhabitant in spite of all precautions taken, we set multiple traps immediately after the complaint was made post stay by the renter yet there was no evidence of mice in either the days, weeks, or months following the renters stay.
The cleaner was also asked if there was an odor in cabin (weed) from previous rental and she did not notice any odor during her crews hours of cleaning. Our house rules prohibit smoking of any kind indoors.
We have a fully stocked kitchen so there are cabinets full of glasses, dishes, pots, pans etc beyond the needs of most renters. As there was a post stay complaint from this renter, every cabinet and drawer was emptied and all items were again hand washed. The garbage bags were verified to be in the closet where the kitchen garbage can is located, and the spare toilet paper rolls were in the bathroom sink cabinet. A simple phone call would have clarified that. We notified the renter before arrival that the cleaners had left a load of towels in washer and dryer thinking the renter was arriving the following day. The renter stated it wasn’t a problem. But in addition, one of the owners drove 100 miles round trip to address it. We refunded the $150 cleaning fee the renter was to pay. Our cost to have the house cleaned is actually higher than what we charge renters.
We have multiple contact numbers available to address any questions or issues from renters during a stay but received no calls from this renter during their stay so we had no opportunity to address any concerns. We do have a minimum night required stay to make a reservation and in this case the renter opted to leave one night prior to the minimum stay obligation for the booking..
Our family had such an amazing stay here! The kids played for endless hours in the water and crashed in the comfortable beds while we got to enjoy the sounds of the lake from the porch!
We enjoyed the cabin on the lake. The scenery is beautiful and the front porch was wonderful for just sitting and looking at the view. We hope to rent property again.
Good location
Has what we needed.
We had 4 wonderful days.
Unfortunately, Ellie and Rosie couldn’t come in. We watched the looks of disbelief on their faces out on the porch.
Our favorite new place to stay. We will be back again. Couldn't have asked for a prettier place and the lake views were amazing. Thanks for giving us an amazing family trip.
I booked Viv’s place as an end of this crazy Covid school year/ 50th birthday celebration retreat. The house was just as described. Very comfortable beds and bedding, beautiful location, plenty of room for everyone. The owners were next door at check in and over the weekend. They were incredibly friendly and helped get me acquainted with the property. During the week, the surrounding houses were vacant. It was like having the whole lake to ourselves. We will be booking again.
This was not a 5 star cabin but rather a 5 star location. It was clean and “as described”. Great owners and great communication. We really had a nice time - location is the best of the best! Recommended !
Four fly fishermen in our 70s, having received a favorable recommendation from a peer decided in January to stay at this vacation rental. Because of the coronavirus we checked several times prior to arrival to determine relative risk of visiting in mid-September. The virus proved to be a non issue. Finding and entering the rental went flawless and what we found was exactly as promised. The rental contained everything we needed and its location was beautiful.
The only negative was a severe smoke event caused by massive wildfires in CA, OR and WA that spread smoke from well out in the ocean to as far east at Butte. We ended up spending less time on the water and more time enjoying the attributes of the rental than expected. On the evening of our visit I had the pleasure of meeting in person the rental owners. A wonder family group!
We love staying at this property and being so close to the water every morning and evening. Georgetown Lake is beautiful and there is much to do here. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. We loved using the kayaks and exploring around the lake. Thank you!
Very Clean and great access to water with 4 grandkids(ages 10-5). We slept 8 and worked out fine. This place is old but well kept up and had everything we needed. Hosts next door were friendly and helpful. Having kayaks to use a plus.

Bowman Recreation is owned by 5 sisters. Our Mom passed our cabin and lakeshore land to us. Our parents have owned cabins on Georgetown like since the early 1960's. We grew up spending summer water skiing and fishing on the Lake and sledding in the winters. In 1975 Discovery Ski Area opened up and we had more reasons to come to the lake in the winter. Our parents built their vacation property in the Phillipsburg Bay area in 1980 and with the help of their daughters and son-in-laws built a new cabin on the lakeshore. In addition our aunt and uncle installed a home on the adjacent lakeshore property. Auntie Viv loved spoiling us and our kids. Our kids grew up making a mad dash to Vivs place for ice cream cones as soon as they arrived at the lake. We are now spread out living in various locations across the state and our kids are in numerous states from California to New York. Georgetown Lake is our gathering place to spend time with family, relax, try to beat each other at card games and mostly laugh.
Why they chose this property
Ten years after our beloved Aunt Viv died our cousins sold us their property adjacent to ours in August of 2017. After purchasing Viv's Place we spent the fall of 2017 and spring of 2018 updating the home and improving the shoreline property. Now it's ready for others to experience the fun and beauty of Georgetown Lake that we have known all our lives.
What makes this property unique
We love that we have one of the most desirable lakeshore locations and the fun family time it affords us. We're able to watch osprey and eagles fish, listen to grebes and ducks and observe wildlife up close from the comfort of the deck. There is serenity in swinging under the trees by the beachfront watching sunsets over the Pintler Mountain range. we enjoy roasting marshmellows at the campfire in the evening while we swap stories, sing songs, and watch the stars and the occasional Northern lights show. We love the abundance of activities on and around the lake year round from boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, fishing, biking and hiking to skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, snowmobiling, skating and icefishing. We appreciate the convenience of being close proximity to the reasonably priced Jack Nicklaus Golf Course in Anaconda, and the fun town of Phillipsburg. But most of all, we are thrilled to be able to share with family and friends the idyllic vacation atmosphere that we have enjoyed since childhood at Georgetown Lake.
