Treehouse Guesthouse: 3 BR Unique Home for 8 adults plus 400 sq ft Fun Treehouse

Welcome to The Treehouse Guesthouse! Unique & Comfortable 3 bedroom home at ground level with amazing 400 sq ft. outdoor recreation area up in a gigantic oak tree! This special compound is a great location for a unique get-away for family travel or for work groups. Our outdoor compound has plenty of space to enjoy the huge deck, fire pit, frisby golf, outdoor grill, picnic areas ---as well as relaxing in our unique treehouse.

Then go inside to enjoy the home's open floor plan with a central area for living, dining and cooking. Big screen TV with Netflix and a few local channels. Super-fast internet throughout the property. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking for your group. Of course this is South Louisiana and we love feeding folks. We have everything you need to cook and serve a feast for 12 people.

The coffee bar has both a big coffee pot and a Keurig. We anticipate that folks from your group will want to drink coffee and listen to the birds in the morning…sit on the deck or go up in the tree! We have a dozen wine glasses and a collection of Nostalgia Records for a relaxing evening indoors or out.

The open floor plan with kitchen, dining and lounge provide a central gathering area. Upscale appliances include a full size gas range and oven, microwave, side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice maker. Our well equipped kitchen has cooking and serving capacity for 12 people. Multiple outdoor dining and lounge areas are on the deck and ground level. Guest love the outdoor kitchen area, grill and sink.

Each bedroom has a desk or laptop bar workstation. Working from "home" is quiet and productive. The outdoor spaces also allow for lots of privacy for phone calls and work on laptops because we have super-fast internet connections throughout the property. Our mild Louisiana weather allows us to enjoy the outdoor living areas almost all year long! Two of our bedrooms have access to decks. Lots of privacy for everyone!

The three large comfortable bedrooms offer great flexibility . Each room features a blend of antiques and contemporary furnishings. We hope you love the art and mood lighting in each bedroom. We hope you will enjoy the special features!

The West wing has a Private Suite with a queen bed , TV and its own spa bathroom. This wing has a door that separates it from the rest of the house, as well as an exit to the deck. The suite has a desk and plenty of room for work-related projects.

In the south wing of the house, we have two bedrooms. Our Reflection Bedroom has an oriental theme, a queen bed, desk, office chair and dressing area.

The Remember Bedroom is our largest room with its own outdoor porch area and small yard. It has rich antiques, a queen bed and a trundle bed that sleeps two people. The desk and office chair make it great for working adults. The other amenities make it a quick set up as the “kids room”. This room has a closet where we store the 2 floor beds, the port-a-crib and toddler bed. This very flexible room allows guests to configure sleeping for 8 adults or for a combination of adults and children.

In total, there are 3 queen beds, 2 single beds, (trundle bed) 1 fold-out sofa (in the living room) and 1 fold-out foam bed. (in the closet), totaling 7 beds + a crib + toddler bed.. Maximum sleeping capacity is 8 adults. Even when you add in children, everyone will have a comfy place to sleep.

We are perfect for family groups and allow you to have up to 8 local guests come for a family gathering during the day (9am-9PM) Please contact us to make a request prior to booking if you want to schedule daytime guests.

We often host work groups and want to specify that construction work groups can have no more than 8 adults. For an additional charge we provide weekly cleaning for work groups who book for more than a week. Please discuss with the Host prior to booking a work crew. We have parking for larger vehicles and work trucks. Please let us know your specific work group needs.

Our high speed internet can accommodate multiple users. Our room arrangement allows for private work stations.

Some guests have called our property an urban oasis. We are in an older section of Lafayette that has a blend of residential, commercial and industrial occupants. The property has fencing and landscape that makes it feel separated from other properties and activities. It feels like a private retreat for our guests. The neighborhood is not a typical suburban neighborhood.

The home is spacious, clean and comfortable, but not so fancy that you have to worry about normal family or workgroup activities. We own 2 adjacent properties and our family likes living and working in this neighborhood. We have parking for 4 guest vehicles. in our well-lighted off-street area. We can also accommodate oversize trucks and trailers in our adjacent private parking lot.

Our treehouse recreation area is actually a covered deck build with a tree in the middle! Because of elevation of the Treehouse, there are some safety precautions that you will need to monitor. No one is to climb in the tree or to sleep in the Treehouse. Children 15 and under need to be accompanied by an adult when visiting the Treehouse. There are areas marked as private that are restricted from use by guests. The person who makes the booking will need to walk the property and the Treehouse to give an orientation to the children and other guests about safety issues.

We do allow guests to bring one or two dogs and we charge an additional cleaning fee of $50. Please contact us prior to booking and give me the breed, age and weight of your dog. Dogs are not allowed on the beds or sofas. Please bring two covers for the sofa, and a dog bed. Please bring a crate if you intend to leave your dog home alone. The yard has fences, but they may not securely keep a pet in the yard without supervision. Pease scoop poop, etc and help us prepare for our next guests. Please feed your dog outside.

We are able to accommodate guests with some mobility issues. There are three steps with a handrail from the parking lot to the deck. The hall bathroom has a barrier free entrance to the shower. Hallways and bedrooms accommodate a wheelchair or walker. Please let us know if you or your guests have special needs.

We have been hosting for more than 10 years, consistently receiving 5 star reviews. so we know how to create a comfortable and safe experience for our guests.

Other amenities include a frisy golf unit for "disk golf", a professional grill, picnic table and covered dining area. if you need particular cooking items, just ask. We are well-equipped for large group cooking.
