Why Richard Borer chose Satellite Beach
I have lived in, maintained and cared for this property for more than two decades. It is a comfortable, spacious, well-maintained property close to the beach: walk in the sand and surf, view pelicans flying by, and enjoy the great local Mexican restaurant Little Dos that is at the end of the street!
What makes this House unique
An on-site heated pool in a screened pool house is available 24/7. You have free high speed (100 MB) WiFi. There is free laundry on-site. A two car garage is available to you plus several parking spaces in the driveway. There are TV's in all bedrooms with Netflix, Hulu, SlingTV, and BlueRay players. There are a variety of DVD's onsite for your enjoyment. There is also a nice stereo with a selection of CD's for your listening pleasure and an Aux jack for your iPhone/iPod. The second floor of the house gives you nice ocean views and is surrounded by windows making it sunny and bright. There are sliding doors on three sides allowing for the ocean breeze to come through softly and enjoyably. There is a dining area on both floors. The one on the second floor allows views of the ocean in the near distance. The sunrises, visible from the kitchen, dining area and master bedroom can be glorious! The grocery store and movies are just a 3 minute drive away as is Pelican Beach park with extensive picnic facilities. The setting is peaceful and comfortable. Stay here for a fantastic experience: relaxing and fun. Sincerely, Richard

Great property for a short stay
I am glad you enjoyed the house. Come again!
A great vacation home
Every year 5 couples and a few of our kids and grandkids, get together for a few days. This year we had the good fortune to have found this wonderful property. This 5 bedroom home is spacious and comfortable. The beach is only a short distance. There are good breaks in the traffic flow which allows safe crossings over A1A. There were even turtle sightings coming up the beach to lay her eggs. So very special! There were games and movies provided and Netflix, amazon prime, Hulu...lots and lots of tv options, but spending time at the beach or pool took up most of our days and nights! The kitchen is small but we got into a rhythm ... one preps and the other cooks, it all worked out fine. The dining table is huge and everyone had a seat. We all had a great time and we will be coming back in the future. Thank you for the memorable few days we had...it wasn’t long enough!!
Comfortable house for really large family group
We came to Florida for a family reunion. There were 17 of us. It was a nice house for our event. Comfortable furniture. Lots of spaces to spread out. Bedrooms had TVs, big living room downstairs. There's a dining room for big gatherings downstairs and a dining room upstairs too. There's also a picnic table outside in a covered patio by the pool. We used the grill out there for a BBQ. Its about a 2 minute walk to the beach. You just need to cross A1A, which can be more or less full of traffic throughout the day, but there are plenty of breaks in the traffic to cross safely. It has a balcony on the second floor where some of us sat out on and watched the ocean and felt the breeze. I am really satisfied with this choice.
I love to hear of large family gatherings at the "Sand Castle." It is so gratifying to hear of all the fun and sand, and sun that goes on when relatives come together around a pool, (...or a good movie on Netflix?). Your group was very courteous. Thank you for being a gracious guest. I hope another opportunity will arise for you to gather the family; come again!
A very nice property, comfortable and clean with many contemporary amenities
We spent an very enjoyable time in this 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom home. The furniture and amenities were comfortable, the place was clean. The location was really good, a stone's throw from the ocean. The garden with palms, hibiscus, and bougainvillea was tropical. The beach was peaceful for walks, the surf great for energetic types, and one could also fish from the shore. Overall, a great vacation opportunity.
I am so glad you enjoyed yourself. I hope you will come again!
18 people stayed here comfortably... really nice find!!
We came to Satellite beach to celebrate my sister's 60th wedding anniversary. Family came in from Minnesota, Michigan and Colorado. We had 8 grown ups and 10 kids. This house is set up nicely to accommodate big groups. We all fit in well -- every one had (or shared) a bed (there are 11 beds). There's a pool, and the beach is literally across the street. Its kind of a busy street, but there are plenty of breaks where there is no traffic to contend with and crossing is safe (for young and old alike).
What is kind of neat about this house is it can be rented as two units: a ground floor house or a second floor apartment (the units can be completely separate) -- or rented as one big house, which is what we did. All spaces adjoin on the inside so it was one big house for us. The bonus with the upstairs: there is an extra kitchenette up there and an extra dining room. It was nice for the folks that stayed up there - great for a quick breakfast, or coffee, or lunch. One of the reasons we all found spaces to be without feeling crowded. An extra living room up there converts nicely to the 6th bedroom with two fold out beds. The owner confided in me that he recently replaced one sofa with a fold-out sofa, even though there already was a sleeper sofa in the living room. I think he doesn't advertise two sleeper sofas up there because it is really snug having them both in use, but it was PERFECT for us with so many kids. I think it was actually fun for them to be so close!
The downstairs has a really big dining room table and a built-in "kids table" which is the kitchen island next to the dining room table. We all ate together -- 14 at the table and 4 at the island. The kitchen is rather small but updated to have granite & nice appliances.
Another interesting feature is a wrap around (3-sides) balcony on the second floor. You can see the ocean in the near distance. The breeze is nice up there. And the back part of the balcony is a bit wider making a little patio to sit out, which was nice in the evening.
The pool patio is covered and has a picnic table and couch and chairs, so a lot of the kids could play in the pool and then sit for lunch. It has lights and a grill for hanging out there for pool time into the evening.
If you have a family reunion like ours this place is great. We shopped around a bit and its actually pretty good value for the money, too!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure hosting you. Please come again!
Great place for family get-together!
Great idea for a large group! Best feature--BEACH, of course. This property isn't directly beachfront, but it is 5 min walk--easy enough for us. We were a group of 10, including elderly couple, us (couple in our 50's) and 3 adult children with spouses. This house has 3 large bedrooms on first floor, with nice, well laid out living area, large dining table, and island. Hallway bathroom, and small private master bathroom (shower, no tub). Bathrooms function well, but are dated, almost "kitchy" and cute. Kitchen is modern, but very small, would be difficult if we wanted multiple cooks. The upstairs has 2 large bedrooms, one hallway bathroom, living area, dining area and small, older kitchen. I understand the properties can be rented separately, and the indoor stairway can be locked, entered from the lanai. We had all the doors unlocked, open and moved freely all over. The upstairs living room can then function as a 6th bedroom, with sofa pull-outs, if needed. Laundry in garage (common feature in Florida) and we made use of it. Driveway is wide enough for 2 minivans, plus has a circle driveway, so plenty of room for off street parking. Owner offered us the use of the double garage as well. Owner contacted me frequently, checking to make sure we arrived OK, got settled and needed anything. He had info available in the house, helped with dining choices and activities.
House has a large lanai (screened in area), with inground pool. Pool is about 3-4 feet deep, with step access. Not heated, too cool for our use. Furniture around pool was comfortable and we all enjoyed coffee outside in the morning.
Property is directly behind a VFW, and parking lot, which faces A1A (main road). Then the street is all residential behind it, so it is the border between commercial and residential. Very easy to find, easy to get around.
The beach is BEAUTIFUL! Well maintained, with stair access, soft sand and almost empty during our stay (New Years Eve-Jan 7, 2019). We had it to ourselves! Young adults enjoyed boogie-boarding and surfing, swimming. Us "oldies" enjoyed the beach walks and the views! This part of "Space Coast" is certainly unspoiled and easily accessible.
Having said that-you do have to run across A1A, which is 4 lane main road (with a turning lane-5 lanes). We didn't have problems, but we took my mom over in the car, then returned the car to the house (an extra 10 min, maybe?). Would be a bit nerve-wracking with small kids, WORTH IT
I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I have done a lot to update and upgrade the house to make it comfortable -- and will continue to do so... it is a labor of love. The pink tile with a black border in the bathroom is dated (Art Deco/retro/kitschy). But the house has been part of our family for manymanymany years (I recently inherited it from my mother), so some of this "charm" may be my sentimentalism/resistance to fully rip out the old and upgrade :).
I am presently working on upgrading the pool to be heated. Should you come again it will be warm for all/any generations! If I don't see you again, I wish you the best in everything (but DO consider coming again).
