About this property

Beautiful 4-bedroom, 3-bath home in gated Lake Michigan beachfront community.

Welcome to our family year-round home away from home. Fully remodeled in 2020-2021, we have all the amenities to make your time at the beach fun and relaxing. The kitchen has all new appliances and is fully equipped. The rest of the first floor includes a dining area, family room with a flat-screen TV, living room (including a baby grand piano!) and full bath. Upstairs, you will find 4 bedrooms with a king, two queens and two twins/singles. The freshly remodeled bath includes a bathtub. The lower level/basement is a great place for the kids to play, including a full bath and flat-screen TV.
There is a beautiful multi-leveled deck with two grills, one gas and one charcoal. Within a few moments, you are on the Lake Michigan beach that is home to Big Red, the iconic Holland lighthouse, Lake Macatawa and Eldean’s Shipyard. Downtown Holland, with its wonderful shops, breweries, restaurants and entertainment, is a quick drive away along South Shore Drive.
We provide linens and a starter supply of paper products for your convenience. The house is equipped with cable, WiFi, and washer and dryer.
We came to Macatawa 34 years ago for a family vacation and have never left. We want you to enjoy a similar, memory-making experience.

Wonderful trip!

We had a wonderful stay! The house was great! Very close to the beach and they had everything you could need at the house. A fully equipped kitchen and even toys for our little girls. The neighbors were very nice and it was a great experience. The host replied to questions very quickly and gave great recommendations. I would highly recommend staying here! Everything was nice and clean and updated.

Great family vacation spot

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! It was roomy, casual, perfect for our multi-generation family vacation. Well-equipped kitchen. The feeling from the family room with all the large windows was of being in a treehouse. Large deck. Beautiful neighborhood, easy access to the private beach, where the sandbar created a great, safe area for the little ones to play in the water. Plenty to do and see in the vicinity. And we were lucky to have absolutely beautiful weather. Memorable trip!! One caution: It was very hilly so we weren’t able to ride the bikes we brought, and anyone with mobility issues could have difficulty.

Unbelievable Bliss in Macatawa

I cannot recommend Tom’s property more. I feel like we scored a hidden gem — it is so difficult to find a place in the gated Macatawa park (for good reason!) and happening to find Tom’s spectacular house was a dream. We’ve been coming to Macatawa for years but took quite a few year hiatus while we grew up. Being able to come back this year and stay for more than a week was amazing. Tom’s place is extremely well equipoise in the kitchen, plenty of linens and towels (beach included), beach chairs and accessories, porch space and a spacious living room/dining room + basement extra space. Everything was as described! The beach walk was super short and easy. Laundry was nice to have for a long week away & access to a grill was awesome for BBQs. I know others complained of the no air conditioning — I get it I’ve stayed in Macatawa during the high heat of July/August when I was a kid in another cottage & they didn’t have AC. It’s no joke, but we were lucky enough to have relatively cool, breezy nights so we didn’t mind one bit & Tom provides tons of fans. It’s somewhat rare to find AC in the park and to be frank I personally think it adds to the cottage feel! If you’re considering staying in Macatawa I highly recommend staying at Tom’s! We will be back next year and already can’t wait!

Great value with short walk to beach

This was our second time staying at this cottage – it's a great value for how amazing the location is. We loved our stay at this house and would recommend to others as long as they don't mind not having AC. It's the best, most charming neighborhood, short walk to a private beach, updated kitchen and bath! Love the large deck for group dinners. Large living space and kitchen too! Plus a lot of things provided like toys for kids, puzzles and games, and beach chairs and umbrellas. The no AC is tough on really hot weeks; our week was quite cool fortunately! Only complaint is that because you have to rely on having windows open all the time, there was a bit of a bug issue with teeny bugs coming through the screens mainly in the kitchen and bathrooms. Host was super responsive and helpful! Definitely recommend and would stay here again!
