The Big "O" Lodge located on bayou La Loutre

Beautiful 1800 square foot lodge located on the historic bayou La Loutre. Just step away from the lodge on bayou La Loutre is our dock facility that has a cleaning station and dock space to park your boats. The lodge was established in 2018, it has four bedrooms and 3 full baths and will accommodate 10 people. Spacious kitchen over looking living room with ajoing game room. Stunning view overlooking the beautiful south Louisiana marsh outside the back deck! The lodge has all the accommodations and amenities for cooking and your overnight stay. Just bring your food and drinks and enjoy a relaxing stay on the bayou!


Our boat hoist are not included in the rental, these hoist are all occupied. We do have room for you to tie your boat up to the side of the dock if you would like to keep your boat in the water over night.

Our group stays at the Big O lodge every year for our fishing trip. The property has everything you could need and the owner is great to work with. Highly recommended the Big O if you’re looking to stay in Hopedale.

Awesome Place

The Big O is great. It’s modern and has an updated interior. There is a ton of room for a large group. The place is well outfitted with everything you need to cook for your stay. I’m looking forward to booking again with some buddies for another red fish trip.

The lodge was exactly as described. It is very spacious and clean.

Everything was great. Only complaint would be that since the lodge is so high up off the ground, you can feel the motion inside when it’s windy, so people with motion sickness, take some Dramamine or a scopolamine patch.

Trip to Big O

Nice place to stay, You may need to bring some covers in the winter. Only the owner can adjust the thermostat and it gets cold at night. The house is very nice and clean. the lower deck is a nice place to hang out but the grill was too dirty to use so we had to cook inside.
