TUSCAN SUN COTTAGE IN WEST LA..
Nestled beside a large stone swimming pool, this generously-sized studio-style stand-alone private guest house is appointed with rustic romantic details, including an open-beamed ceiling, three pairs of French doors and stone and stucco walls. Perfect for a couple or friends and family, this backyard oasis, filled with orange and lemon trees, rosemary and tea roses will transport you to another place and time as you venture past the large stone wall and enter through the rustic arched wood doors of the backyard gate. Note: this cottage is a private guesthouse, located in the far rear of the property.

***The owners do live in the main house on the same property, so please keep this in mind. Also, this is a large studio space, so there are no separate bedrooms. ***

Enjoy the stone pool, waterfall and stone hot tub: While the pool is NOT heated, it is open year-round. The large 5-person stone hot tub, features effervescent eco-friendly water made super-soft and sparkling clean by ions of silver and copper, plus ozone, and can be heated upon request. Be sure to ask for epsom salts or lavender essential oils to make the experience extra spa-like. Note: Sorry, but the concrete slide is NOT AVAILABLE for guest use.

The cottage's small, but fully efficient sparkling clean kitchenette offers everything you need to enjoy the convenience of cooking quick meals while on vacation, including a large Cosari air fryer/oven, mini refrigerator, microwave, conductive cooktop, Keurig coffee maker (and pour-over carafe), cookware, service ware, basic condiments and more. Dine indoors or out; the cottage table can expand to seat up to 6 people.

Grill and dine outdoors: BBQ memorable meals in the outdoor kitchen, which includes high-end stainless steel BBQ grill, two gas side burners and large French door refrigerator and deep outdoor sink. The bar counter has three chairs for al fresco dining. And a small bistro table with two chairs makes the perfect poolside spot for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

Walk to Hot Spots Nearby: including Starbucks, Whole Foods Market, Little Osaka foodie hot spots such as Tatsu Ramen, Ramenya, Oops Sushi, and Brothers and Cousins' street tacos on Sawtelle, and so many more!

Be Close to Everything: With easy access to the 10 and 405 freeways, the cottage is only 6.4 miles from LAX, 4.5 miles to Santa Monica Pier, 8.3 miles from Universal Studios/Universal City, 2.8 miles from UCLA and 39 miles from Disneyland and only .5 mile from the Light Rail on Exposition (Sepulveda or Bundy Station). The Light Rail can get you to the Santa Monica Pier (beach) in 8 minutes or downtown in 25.

This was a perfect stay at an enchanting, peaceful, beautiful guest house & absolutely amazing hosts!! It is close to everything, but feels like a rustic country retreat in Europe and very healing. Relaxing in the ozone stone hot tub every night was divine & a bit mind-blowing in that full moon under a huge lemon tree! The hosts give you space, but are very caring and go out of their way when anything is needed. Great shower, beautifully decorated & the fanciest tea pot I have ever seen. It had every ammendity anyone could want. We are so glad we stayed here & will be back!! Thank you Beth & Milo!!

Charming place to stay with a rustic feel. Beds were very comfortable. Hosts were communicative and available to answer questions & provide recommendations. Didn’t get a chance to use the pool or jacuzzi unfortunately as my stay was too short. Would stay here again.

Super nice cottage

This is a special place to stay for a short visit in LA or for a vacation. All confort inside, and a "spoiling" confort outside, in the nicely arranged garden. Our stay was too short to get advantage of the garden but still spent some time outside. Milo, the host, was very helpful and gave us all assistance one might needs in a foreign town. Just go there and you'll simply love the placespeial spevial "spiling""

Hidden Gem

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. It is in a lovely neighborhood on a quiet street near shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. It was such a cute space, tucked away from the main house and very private and safe.The hosts were very kind and welcoming. Email communication prior to our visit was informative, clear, and thorough. Milo could not have been more helpful with all the very useful tips about how to navigate the area and local places to go in town. It was our first time visiting LA with our family and staying there made our visit very memorable. Thank you Milo and Beth for welcoming us and sharing your lovely home with us.

Eight Perfect Days--and One Fabulous Hot Tub

Sunlight streaming in the windows, orange trees shading the yard, and just the perfect intimate oasis. Such nice energy all around. Milo and Beth were attentive and lovely hosts. We had a peaceful week with restorative dips in the hot tub -- and easy access to great restaurants. The neighborhood is wonderfully walkable--with groceries and coffee close by.

Lovely Property and Lovely Hosts

What a wonderful property!!! Tucked away in Beth and Milo's backyard, next to the pool and spa, this is a comfortable, quiet little oasis. If you enjoy meeting property hosts, you will really enjoy staying here. Milo was the host with the most! He gave us amazing recommendations for food close by, prepared the spa for us and sent us on our way with fresh-picked oranges. A very memorable experience indeed!

One night stay

We came to visit Santa Monica Pier. I was with my daughter and her friend. This rustic little place was clean and comfortable. The check in was very detailed. Milo is very friendly and proud of his home. This cottage is in the back yard behind a main house. Depending on your taste this place may mot be for travelers who like privacy or little to no interaction with their host. My daughter and her friend enjoyed the hot tub. Milo came to check on them several times and told them some good stories. They said that they felt they were vacationing with Milo.

Perfect Little Get Away

It's a smallish cottage next to the pool. It's the perfect little getaway and pretty centrally located to everything to do in Los Angeles. The owners are on site and there if you need anything. If you'd like to use the hot tub upon arrival, let them know in advance. It wasn't filled while we were there, but Milo told us he could fill it for us and it takes 20 minutes to heat up. The first night is the only night we would have really used it after a long day at Disneyland. Other than that, you'll really enjoy this property.

Humble Cottage on the Westside

Upon our arrival after a long journey, Milo warmly welcomed us and gave us a comprehensive tour of the rental cottage and its amenities. Every day, as we bid farewell, Milo offered valuable advice on exploring Los Angeles. Upon our return, we felt like we had stepped back into our own home.However, our biggest disappointment was the state of the property. Despite the high cleaning fee we had paid at the time of booking, we had high expectations for cleanliness. The pervasive dust, both floating and settled in corners of furniture, made our daily tasks, such as changing bedding sheets and lowering curtains, a chore. To add to the discomfort, the property was infested with spiders and their webs, hanging in corners or accumulating on light fixtures. One particularly alarming incident involved a large spider crawling on one of the beds.Another area that fell short of our expectations was the kitchenette. Shelving, the wooden cutting board, pots, pans, and dishes were covered in caked-on debris and grease, making food preparation unpleasant. On our first night, we had to purchase cleaning supplies to make the kitchen usable.The restroom, like the rest of the property, was in a state of disarray. It featured exposed copper piping that made showering uncomfortable alongside a numerous amount of spiders.In hindsight, if we had raised the issue during our stay, the accumulated dust would have posed a greater health risk if it had been addressed promptly.

very nice stay with caveat

We had a very nice stay at Milo and Beth's property. Their pool house is comfortable, clean, has nice necessities and amenities, well located in a safe, quiet location, and has ample parking. As a party of a couple and 2 friends, we made do with the sleeping arrangements. Communication ahead of our stay was excellent. I'm sure you are looking to book your stay based on the photos; sure enough the pool house more than lives up to them. The quaint ambiance was just what we wanted for our brief escape to LA. Our caveat is that, as other reviewers have alluded to, you will interact with the host to a degree beyond what you may expect or be comfortable with. In spite of being a well-travelled group who have stayed in many shared arrangements in the past, we found that his hosting style was overbearing at times. As a result, we found ourselves being pointed to a degree we didn't necessarily want to be. He also made some inappropriate comments. He was not ill-intentioned, but the comments expressing his views on COVID, our group arrangement, gender roles, and even physical appearances were not professional or necessary, and made us uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong - he is a very kind host who truly wants to make your stay comfortable. If you are looking for a lot of interactions with the host, perhaps you'll enjoy this aspect of your stay. However, his hosting style is certainly not for everyone. All that said, thank you Beth and Milo!
