Vicky Swain purchased this Villa in 1996
Why Vicky Swain chose Cascais
I fell in love with Cascais as a child while visiting family and purchased this home in 1996. Cascais is a slower pace than Lisbon, yet only 30 minutes away on the train. I love the fact that the house is 10 minutes walk in to town, yet has a lovely garden and pool space with good privacy.
What makes this Villa unique
I love the windows in this home. Casa Catarina has sun shine all day streaming in. I chose this house as the street is quiet being a one way street. The house is situated in the center away from the road. I fell in love with the arched ivy entrance over the gate ways, which gives you a cottage feel. All my guests have commented on the comfort and feel good atmosphere of Casa Catarina. So far lots of Happy guests, and I look forward to greeting many more. See you soon! x Vicky .

Perfect family holiday villa
We loved our stay, the villa is wonderful, so well equipped for our family of 6. The garden, pool and terrace provided great spaces to relax and the villa inside is beautiful, we loved the art too! Cascais is lively with good beaches, excellent Weds market. Lisbon is in short reach for day trips and we recommend Carcavelos beach just a couple of stops on the train line. Thanks, Vicky for being a perfect host and for a fantastic holiday!
Fabulous stay at Casa Catarina
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa was very clean well appointed and ideally suitable for a family of 3 adult couples. We especially liked the large garden and pool area.
Vicky was very accommodating and replied to emails promptly. Cascais is a lovely town with plenty of nice restaurants & shops and only a 30 minute train journey from Lisbon. Yes we would recommend & would return.
This is a beautiful villa with everything you would need for a lovely holiday. The garden and pool area are really well maintained and very private with lots of seating and out door eating areas. The villa itself is very clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The area is a nice residential area and it's a short walk to cafes and a supermarket and about 25 minutes walk from the main town, and very easy to get a bus or taxi. Vicky is very helpful and kind. We had a great stay.
Ideal family holiday home
Lovely house, well equipped, and a great location. Vicky was super at responding to queries.
Beautiful stay at this villa
I stayed here for 5 nights with my family and 7 month baby boy and we all had a fantastic stay.
The pool was great especially the baby pool which was lovely and warm our son loved splashing around in it. The villa was spacious and well equipped and really was a home away from home.
Cascais town centre was a 15/20 min walk (it is on a hill but it’s good exercise!) if you don’t want to walk an Uber is only 3 euros and easy to pick up in town. The town has lots of good restaurants and a variety of cuisines.
Vicky the host was great and clearly takes great pride in being a villa host. She gave us some good local information and always responded really fast with any questions.
I would definitely recommend this property for a great family holiday.
Memorable Three Generation Holiday
Victoria made sure that our grandson, our son and his pregnant wife and the two of us were comfortable in her tastefully decorated home and provided with all of the services and supplies necessary to enjoy a very special holiday stay in Cascais. It was a lovely house in a great neighbourhood, within walking distance to the town's center.
Cascais is located just 25 km west of Lisbon (25 mins from Airport)along a spectacular coast which begins at the Tagus estuary and takes you to the westernmost point of Europe - Cabo da Roca. Cascais has beaches, cafés, pubs and shops. There is a promenade along the water with beach coves and sunny cafés. Casa da Guia nearby, overlooks the ocean with restaurants and cafés set in the grounds of the old manor house with stylish shops and boutiques. Sintra also nearby is a dramatically beautiful mountain village with castles to explore like Quinta da Regaleira as well as cafés and shops. On the North side of Sintra a beautiful coastal road takes you to the lighthouse at Cabo da Roca the most western point of Europe, Praia Adraga, Azenhas do Mar.
There are 2 free rental bike stands down in Cascais at the train station and at Casa da Guia. Just leave some identification and take them for the whole day. Ride along the ocean cliffs on the walk/bike path.
