The property is absolutely beautiful and the view of the lake is breathtaking. Super clean and very stocked up on anything you could need. We will be going back for sure.
It fit three families very well. Beautiful views. The owners and property manager were very communicative and response. My family loved it. A very special trip.
Charming, cozy cabin at a great location about 10 minutes from downtown Bigfork. Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area from the three balconies. We really enjoyed the fire pit and the boys liked fishing in the small trout pond! Loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Flathead Lake.
We loved your home and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was a fantastic week in Montana and we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you for your hospitality of letting us stay in your house!

Great place, great location
Our crew had a great time while staying at this property. It was a perfect fit for us and very accommodating. The house was clean and comfortable.
We look forward to coming back again!
This was the 2nd time we've stayed here. We'd return every summer if we could. Awesome place with a large, relatively private property, great lake view and public hiking directly behind the property.
Great Base for exploring Flathead Lake and Glacier
Huge lot with fantastic back yard to enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon/evening and a gorgeous deck view of the lake.
Sleeping to the sounds of the stream was relaxing and the game room was great.
The deck can be loud, buy when we wanted quiet we retreated to the great backyard.
The place was great. Loved the fruit trees and fish ponds on the property. The view was gorgeous and loved it was five minutes from the state park beach. The location was great, not far from Glacier, close to many activities, and close to restaurants. The house was fully stocked with lots of items. The house was comfortable and fit our family well. The area is fantastic with so much to do. We would recommend and stay again.
Loved our stay, particularly the sunsets, the backyard open space and fire pit. Really appreciate having the extras from previous guests like olive oil, etc. Makes you feel right at home out of the gates.
We all had a great time! House was well equipped with everything we needed, close to Glacier and other fun activities. Backyard gave us space to spread out and catching cherries on season a huge bonus. Totally enjoyed the month we were there. Highly recommend to other guests.
Great family home close to Bigfork, MT. Lovely property - we all enjoyed our visit, the lake, and the cherries! Thanks :)

Great vacation home for a group of people
We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful property overlooking Flathead Lake. If I had to complain about anything it would be the unusual bathtub/showers - not easy to get into or out of. But our overall stay was great and prrrfect place to come to after all the wedding activities.
What a wonderful family vacation! All four generations had a great relaxing time. Kids really enjoyed the fish ponds and the creek. Even enjoyed the family recreation room and the sleeping loft. Plenty of bedspace for 6 adults and 3 kids. Highly recommended.
The house was big and very appropriate for a group that spends time together. There were only four of us, but we loved the space. I could easily see a much larger group enjoying the place. The outdoor decks are great and there is a feeling of openness in the layout. Location is perfect for exploring the area. The managers were prompt answering every question we had.
Property was big and spacious, cherry trees galore and ponds were nice. For us, it was a very lengthy drive to everything we were scheduled for, but that is on us. The actual property was very well stocked and clean! As many places in this area, there was no air conditioning, but we loved the place!
We stayed mid September when things were slowing down for the season. Weather was nice except occasional smoke from multiple forest fires.
We enjoyed the ripe pears and apples. The yard was restful and pleasant. Didn’t see any bears.
Overall it was a great time for our family. We would love to stay here again.
Beautiful log home and property perfect for our family. Amazing views!
Penny was responsive and easy to work with- everything provided for a great family trip. Cozy, tasteful decor throughout. Loved the deck view of Flathead Lake for morning coffee and evening sunsets with a glass of wine. Grounds had tranquil fish pond and little waterfalls. Picked some fresh pears, apples, and plums for breakfast. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise in Montana. Would definitely return!
Loved the log cabin and location was great. The property outside was maintained well. Love the little ponds and the view was amazing. The owners were great to work with. The only down fall was the extra buildings that could be rented separately. They hadn't been cleaned, most likely due to COVID. Would be nice to see those buildings updated. It was great to see the family pictures hanging on the walls and know this house is very special to the family. Definitely would stay again, and hopefully soon too!
My family stayed here to visit family and glacier park. The home has a beautiful view of flathead lake. The home is fully stocked with everything you can need for cooking and outdoor activities. Even bear spray which was nice since there was a bear roaming the area at the time. My family had a great time feeding the fish and picking cherries. The one challenge was there is no a/c in the home. The temperature was running around 95 while we there.

Beautiful place with room to spare
We used this cabin for a family reunion. What a great place it turned out to be! The kitchen is fairly well outfitted and has lots of storage space for food. There are a lot of basics already in the cupboards, so if you forget something like baking soda, no worries, it's probably already there.
My daughters spent countless hours fishing in the ponds on the property and caught 16 fish during our 4 day stay. The property is beautiful, the views of the lake are great, and the house and auxillary cabins hold a ton of people. The location is great too- only 10 miles to Big Fork. We loved it. Thanks Penny & Jim!

About the host
Hosted by Penny or Jim and Summer Manager
We are Jim and Penny and we love northwest Montana! This property has been a cherished place for our family for 40+ years. It really is amazing and renewing. In the 1980s our visits here were to see Grandpa and the cousins. We would stay in one of the small cabins at the place and our children loved it! Later we became owners and in 2005 built our dream retirement home. We called it Cherry Creek Retreat because of the beautiful stream that originates and runs through the land and cherry trees. Cherry Creek Retreat has continued to be a special place for our family and friends to gather and even to have weddings and reunions. In 2006 we started renting out our home to vacation renters. We are fortunate to have great neighbors and family members nearby who help out and we also enjoy our many conversations with renters. We are happy to say they have found the place to be amazing too!
Why they chose this property
Grandpa Jim was raised nearby and had a dream to find the perfect property on the Flathead Lake before he retired in the 1970s. He knew the land well and what he wanted. It was to be a place with it's own natural spring, a view of the lake, good for growing cherries and putting in fish ponds, bordered by forest, close to town but with the feel of being in nature. He found this place and it is indeed special! We fell in love with it ourselves years ago, and the feeling only grew as time went on. Now we know others feel the same. Since we've built the Log House and let the property be used as a vacation rental, we hear from so many, "This place is heaven on earth!"
What makes this property unique
Ever changing growth of nature and food! We have cherry, apple, pear and plum trees. A raspberry patch. Fish ponds. Some years we plant a vegetable garden. You may pick and eat from all that is there. Kids love to play here. Families love to gather in spots all over the property and talk or play games. We're not in town, but close enough to get there easily. The scenery is spectacular! The log home is very nice. There are also the fixed-up original cabins that we occassionally let larger groups use.
