When we arrived, the house was immaculately clean! The kitchen was very modern, and had all the utensils and cookware needed to prepare meals, including many spices. The beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. There was plenty of storage for clothing and gear. We came to snorkel, and the house had a tub and hose to rinse and clean out gear. There was a lot of clothesline space, and plenty of clothespins to hang out wet gear, suits and towels. There were plenty of bath towels and beach towels. My favorite room was the open-air dining and living room space. There was always a cool breeze blowing through, and the dipping pool was adjacent to that room. There were very few insects, but we sometimes sprayed ourselves when mosquitos came around. I loved watching the birds in the garden. A pair of bananaquits were building a nest. One day, about 15 Yellow-shouldered Amazon parrots were in the tree across the street! The flowering trees and shrubs and their shade was very welcome. The house is in a residential neighborhood on a short street, with very little through traffic, and we could always park right in front of the house, on the street.Joy Koning was an amazing host! She had a binder with some information about the house, photos, ideas for things to do, and she encouraged us to get on What's App so she could send us a list of recommended restaurants. When we had questions, she replied immediately. I hope I get to stay at Kas Azul again!
