Peaceful, relaxing stay!
Another lovely stay in Parker head! Lots of wildlife-eagles, herons, hummingbirds, a baby seal even peaked up from the water. The water at Popham was almost warm and the waves were awesome!!!

Lulled by flowing tidal waters
Amazing location overlooking tidal pond. You hear the water pour in and out of the old dam. The bird feeders provided fun viewing. Short drive to the beach - near enough to Bath to drop in.

Cottage near Popham
This is a small cottage in a very quiet neighborhood on a side road to Popham. It is only minutes to the beach, but it is miles away from most anything else, which is why we enjoy it.

Not a Freeport or a Boothbay
We loved our week at Julie's cottage. Off the main road, not in the heart of anything commercial but close to everything we'd want to do on vacation.

My favorite place to go is Monhegan Island. ferry from Port Clyde or Boothbay .My uncle used to work in the Bath Iron Works years ago. Another uncle painted and carved from stone, studying with William Zorach in Robinhood. When I was a child on Westport Island a folk singer, Bill Bonyun was a neighbor. There are many books on local history in my library.

Why they chose this property

I spent all my childhood summers with my grandmother on the coast of Maine, especially in the Bath, Robinhood, Westport area. I fell in love with the view from this house, even though I looked at it in February, with snow on the ground.

What makes this property unique

Just sitting with coffee on the deck looking for eagles; they glide, and there will be a flash of white, and they are big. The sound of the tide rushing in and out from the river into the millpond, sounds like a waterfall. The tall historic linden tree in the front yard is a favorite. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming. I love sitting in front of the fireplace, with candlelight or a book. The beach at Popham is beautiful, and there is a view of Seguin Island, and its lighthouse. You can go there by boat.
