…some of the many reasons we fell in love with this location.
If you are looking to stay in Halls Harbour, then you are likely already familiar with this captivating destination. If you have happened upon our listing, a Google search will show you an area often highlighted by Nova Scotia Tourism, and revered by residents. The wharf hosts a Lobster Pound Restaurant, and the highest tides in the world, where twice a day the lobster boats fall to rest on the ocean floor. It’s picturesque Nova Scotia.
Our 3 bedroom home underwent full renovations in 2018, and brings modern conveniences in a traditional coastal setting. The house features updated decor with laundry, dishwasher, Wifi, Bluetooth speakers, and comfortable beds and bedding.
Most tourists first venture to Canada’s Maritime provinces on a more general survey vacation, vowing to return and stay in one location for that authentic local experience. If that sounds like you, let us assure you this is the ideal location. The Hideaway at Halls Harbour boasts proximity to a range of experiences, geographical settings, and amenities, all set on a working lobster wharf. You will exhaust your time here before you exhaust things to explore.
THE HOME
This 3 bedroom, year-round home, is situated on a waterfront road, on the inside of the road (“one-back”), giving exceptional sunsets out over the water visible from the house and from the beach out front. The small roadway houses cottages and year-round homes.
This traditional house was fully renovated in 2018, enhancing the original features such as hand hewn ceiling beams, original wooden floor boards (complete with square nails), and decor selected to blend modern conveniences with that traditional Nova Scotia feel.
The house experiences beautiful ocean breezes, which make for comfortable temperatures during summer heat, requiring no AC. Proximity to the Bay of Fundy brings with it cooler summer temperatures than inland, and extends the tourism season with longer, temperate autumns. Winters in Halls Harbour bring that secluded, oceanfront feel, with winter views and vistas across the Bay. Winter tourism provides a rugged beauty, with a maintained road allowing for access year round.
This quiet dead-end street provides a tranquil setting, just steps from the activity at the wharf. On a typical day, the only noise you hear is the sounds of the ocean. Being completely renovated, the house has that new-home feel, but retains the old time charm.
The Hideaway at Halls Harbour is ideally suited for up to 6 people, and was laid out with our family of 4 children in mind. It works well for large families, providing 4 single beds, as well as the queen bed in the master bedroom.
While away from home, we wish to provide the luxuries we are all used to such as in-home laundry, unlimited internet (no TV), modern bathroom, bluetooth speakers, dishwasher, and luxurious bedding.
