The property was absolutely beautiful but the host was somewhat difficult to work with. I would consider staying again but would make sure to do a video walk through beforehand. Overall cleanliness was nice with a few exceptions, and we ended up having to source our own plunger.

We are very happy that you enjoyed the property. It was unfortunate that someone put so much into the toilet that it required plunging.
The property was well stocked, clean and beautiful with plenty of space for a family gathering. We were a little disappointed that we did not know trash needed to be taken with us, the "easy access" beach is a steep trek and murky, the neighbors were close and noisy, and the fridge in the guest house did not work properly. Otherwise, the host was very communicative and our stay was very pleasant.
What a wonderful home and property! The house(s) were clean and spacious, the property was beautiful and the view/beach was outstanding. The perfect relaxing getaway!
We loved staying at Villette's place. She was very helpful ahead of time and great at communication. Having two houses was excellent for our group of 7 people. We loved using our paddleboards there, seeing the harbor seals and deer, and relaxing in such a wonderful place. We'd love to go again!
Excellent place for 3 families to spend the weekend together. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Views are amazing. Kitchen is well stocked. Beds in the main house are comfortable. Master bedroom is huge! Thank you!

Rick and families, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. You guys were great guests and we appreciated your kind notes! Please come back anytime!
We had our two adult children and their families join us for three days at Lake Bay. This property is so delightful. We enjoyed the serenity of the property, the fun place to play in the water, and the close proximity to activities in Gig Harbor and Tacoma. Our family is already talking about our time for next year. This place is magical for our family.

Lovely place!
This home was perfect for our group of old friends celebrating a milestone birthday. The cabin fit the family of 4, the master suite was comfortable for the married couple. The kitchen had everything it needed. We bbq ‘d on the grill both nights. The view is beautiful. The property is close to a state park where we spent a few hours exploring before heading to Gig Harbor for lunch. It didn’t hurt that the weather was perfect. You’ll need a map app to find it but this house is good.

Not what it could be
If you want to rent your brothers house its great, but these people are not my family and I expected a clean, organized home & to be treated well.
-much more then condiments in fridge, had to clean it out to make room for our food.
-old shoes left around the house and at the back door (I have the photos)...who does that?
-Toys strewn about...if they want to leave toys behind for renters, could they not be overflowing and fill up 1/5th of a bedroom floor with no organization? I am a bit OCD and going on vacation to someone else's clutter is not my idea of a good time. That really irritated me and the owner defended herself over all of this.
-advertising they have tv is ridiculous. they have 3 very old tv's and only get 1 clear over the air channel, no satellite, no cable, this was a nightmare and trying to watch Netflix without internet and only a phone hotspot was not workable. Aren't newer tv's like $300? could they not afford to upgrade a bit and have some internet or satellite tv, too?
- the cupboards were full of their leftover food...I find that disgusting. We had to relocate or trash things.
-This is a coffee kind of town. So, why have the least expensive, lowest end, drip machine known to man? Even if you don't drink coffee yourself, you are charging a lot of money per night...have a good fast machine that is CLEAN and works well.
- the view gets them the extra star, otherwise this is a 1 star place and extremely over priced for what we put up with and no apologies when I called them on it
- We were a group of 12 people all 20 & up with 4 over 75 year old persons. It was July 4 weekend and we were accused of being loud without even asking us if there was a noise problem in the area. We did not have fireworks, boom boxes or anything, so I doubt it was us, because on both sides, the neighbors were lighting fireworks both July 4 & 5th and outside talking etc. yet we were told quiet hours were 10pm. voices do carry and there is no discriminating for age if people are talking so it could have been us talking near the water, but seriously...lighten up. I think these people are over-charging for what this is, and probably wish they could afford to not rent it at all. It has great potential if it were treated like a rental...that is, invest in the right amenities, keep it clean, neat and orderly AND treat your guests with some respect if you do get a complaint. I will not stay here again, so many better choices, I regret picking this one.

Thank you for taking the time to send a review on your vacation time at our home.
I'm sorry that what you experienced wasn't what you expected, but our photos acccurately represent the kid bunk room with toys (which families love to have) as well as the fact that this is indeed our summer home. It is not a bed and breakfast. We do use a professional cleaning service and you are the first person to indicate the house was not up to cleanliness standards. The disgusting food you mention was actually jam, peanut butter, lemon juice, ketchup, mustard and other basics that we keep on hand for renters so they don't have to purchase every small item.
We disclosed upon renting that there is no Internet or cable TV.
Our neighborhood is quiet and unfortunately, I received a complaint from them about loud arguing late into the night.
Your feedback is valuable to us, and we'll make sure that future guests understand that this is a calm beach house that is best for folks who want that experience.
We utilized this property for a family reunion on the peninsula. Ages ranged from 2 mos. to 73 yrs. All were accommodated quite well with the house. Very comfortable, plenty of amenities. We especially enjoyed how well the kitchen was stocked with utensils, pans, cutting boards, etc. I would stay again, with a note to bring water toys (e.g. kayaks) as a morning paddle in the bay looked very nice. :) Would recommend.
This location was perfect for our small family reunion! There are two homes on the property that have many amenities. The view of the Puget Sound is unobstructed and beautiful. Our host was extremely helpful and responsive! Highly recommended!!
This property is a slice of paradise! Great view and water access. Many outdoor seating areas.
Our kids and grandkids (11) had a memorable weekend. Floating on our raft and paddleboard. There was something fun for everyone! The property is well maintained and outfitted!
My family spent Christmas togetherness at this beautiful home. Perfect in every way. We watched seals sunbathing on the raft. Sun rise was beautiful. Plenty of room for our family. We will do this again. Villette the owner was always available which we really appreciated.

Thank you, Jo. I'm really glad your family felt cozy at our home. Welcome back anytime!
Beautiful house on the Puget Sound! Nothing but great experience for our first time in Washington! Great location, clean house, and all the amenities you need.
We spent a very quiet Covid Christmas in this beautiful setting. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our holiday meal special. The fireplace, outdoor areas and holiday decorations made us feel at home. Super clean, and gracious, timely communications.
Our family was so fortunate to stay at the “Harbor Hideaway” during Thanksgiving week. Villette was so responsive and accommodating. The views were amazing and the grounds were perfect for exploring. There was plenty of room for all 9 of us to sleep comfortably. We truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
We saw seals, bald eagles and great blue herons. This was a wonderful family get away. We brought our own raft and paddleboard and had so much fun exploring the water and walking along the beach at low tide. There were some challenges with getting into the property, but it was eventually figured out. There are tons of games for the little kids to keep them entertained and smores sticks made the family campfire extra fun.
My daughter and I decided to rent a lake house this year for our birthday and due to covid-19, we didn't want to go too far. Found this nice gem on a place online. It was very nice and peaceful. Two downfalls - there wasn't any kayaks or paddleboats to use (which I know isn't a requirement, but would've been nice to have) and also you have to take your garbage with you. Other than that we had a wonderful time and I would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful getaway weekend retreat for our family. Loved the large cabin and fire pit on the beach. Enjoyed the harbor seals and otter sightings all day long. Thank you Villette!
We're not happy about the fact that the house does not have trash pick up service . By the time we were given this information it was too late to find another house . We have rented houses with vrbo at least 2X/year for the past 10yrs and never had to remove the trash ourselves . The cleaning charge is too high considering what we we have to do afterward .

Why they chose this property
This is our family vacation hideaway where we can be together in a relaxed, natural environment.
What makes this property unique
This home has everything my husband and I had been looking for for years. We have a lot of family and also love to entertain, so this home was easy and relaxed for us. We love the direct access to the water and the beach is large and sandy . We love exploring on our 3 acres and also on the expansive beach below.
