Residence: Discover the comfort and warm welcome of 'Le Pas de l'Ours' campsite village at any time of the year, in the small village of Aston, near the 'plateau de Beille', in the heart of the Ax valleys in Haute-Ariège. It's summertime ! Go hiking with a guide to discover the circuits that run along the mountain and admire the high-altitude lakes, torrents, waterfalls, fauna and flora, etc. For a faster feel, criss-cross the mountain on a bike, go canoeing on the Ariège, or mountain climbing and canyoning with “Maison de la Montagne” guides. For a gentler time, discover pastoral activities and savour a farm picnic on Beille Plateau. There is also horse riding at the Bésines stud farm with famous Mérens horses. In the evening, the campsite offers theme activities in a relaxed atmosphere : traditional Ariège meals, barbecues, karaoke, etc. It's wintertime ! Discover the nordic Beille Plateau with its 70 km of signposted ski runs prepared for the different cross-country sports (traditional technique and skating), 2 snowshoe itineraries, walking trails and sledging. To complete the far Northern feel, the “Angaka” adventure base offers a dog-sleigh hike.

It's summertime ! Fancy a hike in natural surroundings ? “Le Pas de l'Ours” is at an altitude of 600 m and ready to welcome you at the foot of the Aston mountain range. A real base camp located at the edge of a torrent, it gives direct access to the secluded village of Aston with its 15 000 hectares of preserved areas, 30 lakes, the prestigious trans-Pyrenean Number 10 hiking trail and many other Pyrenean hiking trails. For sheer pleasure, visit the Orlu natural reserve and its House of Wolves (25 mins away), or contemplate the majestic Lordat eagles (20 mins away). Ariège also has hidden treasures : Lombrives, the largest prehistoric cave in Europe (10 mins from the campsite), the rock paintings in Niaux cave (20 mins away) and the underground river of Labouiche (40 mins away). It's wintertime ! Make a wild and invigorating escape to Beille Plateau, the largest nordic site in the Pyrenees, just 25 minutes away from the campsite. This plateau, at an altitude of 1 800m, is every bit as magnificent as the open spaces of the Vosges and the Jura ; you are guaranteed to see snow coverage and landscapes that take your breath away ! If you are a cross-country ski enthusiast, go to the resort in Chioula. For more alpine skiing, take the direction of the Ax valleys. You are only 15 minutes from the Ax Trois Domaines “teleporté” ski lift, where you can practise all the new sensation sports. Not forgetting Ascou-Pailhères, a very family oriented resort. Blankets, bolsters and pillows are provided (sheets optional). The accommodation has a garden area equipped with a picnic table with parasol and sun lounger.
