About this property
Charming cottage with access to private Lake Michigan beach in Holland, MI
If a memorable vacation is on your wish list, check out this charming modern cottage nestled in the woods of Idlewood Beach, a private beach association located just south of Tunnel Park. The 3-bedroom home is just a 4 minute walk to a private Lake Michigan Beach--think sandcastles during the day, sunsets in the evening with Big Red in the distance.
Completely renovated in the last few years, the second story has hardwood floors and 2 bedrooms and a bath. Bedroom #1 has a king bed, as does bedroom #2. Downstairs engineered-wood floor, including bedroom #3, which has two bunk beds--one with a trundle. In addition there is a family room and bathroom.
Full baths on each floor, one with shower, the other with shower/tub. Modern kitchen with high end appliances to make a gourmet meal to eat in the nearby cozy dining area--or out on the deck if you desire. Living room, family room, and a large deck with gas grill, table and chairs, and sitting area. Central air conditioning, TVs on both floors and wireless internet and cable TV provided, as are washer and dryer, linens and bath and beach towels. Sorry, no pets.
In addition to the home's peaceful setting, the Idlewood Beach Association maintains a grassy park--the Commons-- that has playground equipment for kids, a pavilion plus picnic tables and a large grassy area for outdoor games. Ottawa Beach State Park, Tunnel Park, Mount Pisgah, bike paths, restaurants, stores and downtown Holland are only minutes away.

About the host
Hosted by Marc & Patricia Baer

Marc and Patricia have lived in Holland for 38 years, and in Idlewood Beach Association for the past 15 years--the cottage is next door to their home. Marc is a retired college professor, while Patricia has a private counseling and life coaching practice. They have three married children and seven grandchildren. Meeting at the University of Iowa, they've lived in London, Ohio and Maryland, before moving to Michigan.
Why they chose this property
Unique is the best descriptor for Idlewood Beach. Imagine a neighborhood with 100 homes and cottages on top of a sand dune. You would have a few minutes' pleasant walk to relaxing on a sandy private beach on America's premier freshwater lake. But you could retreat to a shady cottage surrounded by oak and evergreen trees. You would also be a few minutes drive to great places to dine, shop, attend summer repertory theater, pick blueberries or stroll on the streets of a great small town.
What makes this property unique
In the Holland area, the Idlewood Beach Association is considered a unique beach community in itself, with friendly neighbors and charming streets--that are also our sidewalks.
