About this property
country casual home near Newberg, gateway to Willamette Valley wine country
The guesthouse is a large, comfortable home just a few miles from Newberg, Oregon, a gateway town to Oregon's Willamette Valley wine country. It has been owned by the same family since the late 1950's and is located on the family's 200 acre farm. The farm's main crops are Oregon's signature nut, the hazelnut (also known as filbert) and pinot noir grapes. The house, though not fancy, is spacious and comfortable, and has been popular with guests for several years, especially visitors to nearby vineyards and tasting rooms who are interested in relaxing in a more rural, private environment after a day of touring. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals and there are several indoor and outdoor locations for eating and relaxing.
The upstairs of the two story house has a large master bedroom with king sized bed and small deck overlooking lawn, garden and horse pasture. Please inquire about a reduced rate for use of the master only for 1-2 persons. The middle bedroom is not as large, has a king sized bed, and windows with views of farmland to the south. The third upstairs bedroom has a double bed (smaller than a queen, so the possible maximum occupancy of 8 may actually be 7 if two people don't wish to share a double bed). It also has a deck. The three upstairs bedrooms share a recently remodeled bathroom wth a sower and double sinks. The downstairs bedroom is fairly small, with two twin beds. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. There are two eating areas, one right off the kitchen and a larger one in a separate dining room.
As the home is on a working farm, it is suited for adults over 25. We have several horse boarders who visit and feed their horses in the afternoons. We have a designated trail for walkers which travels up to and through the vineyard, then along a pond. It's about 1.5 miles. There is ample parking and there is a carport with access to the back door through a "mud room" to the kitchen. There is a TV room which has comfortable chairs and sofa and the TV has satellite reception. The sunken living room has two comfy chairs, a sofa and a fireplace.

About the host
Hosted by Maria

This property was purchased for a great uncle with help of my father back in the late 50's. He wound up owning 200 acres of what was originally a 400 acre farm. I am the current owner. My father expanded the original farm house to its current size of about 3000 square feet.
