Ocean Watch Tybee offers 6 units at The Brass Rail which is one of Tybee's newest luxury gated complexes. With ocean views, two pools, spacious accomodations only steps from the ocean, Unit 201 Brass Rail has it all! There are 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths in this second story unit with an elevator just steps away from your underground parking places. You will be just 50 yards from the sand on the South End of the island and just steps away from attractions such as the Pier and the Strand with shopping and restaurants. Enjoy a commanding view of the ocean from the living room and master bedroom both of which open onto a large private deck overlooking the beach. The fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops with plenty of room for lots of cooks. The bar area seats 3 and is open to the living area. The dining table seats 6. Gorgeous living room has a sofa and comfy chairs on beautiful bamboo floors. The entertainment center has a large TV and DVD. There is WIFi access through out the unit. You can lie on your king size luxury bed in the master bedroom and view the ocean or watch the TV DVD. Or you can step out onto your private 450 square foot balcony and sun in comfort. The spacious master bath contains both a shower and tub, his and her vanities, and tons of closet space. The second bedroom contains a luxury queen mattress and its own TV. The we also own the adjacent unit on this landing, which sleeps 10. Together, units 201 and 202 Brass Rail are are great for large groups, family reunions, etc. The two units together will sleep 16 in bed and the front doors are only steps apart in the covered elevator landing. You and your family will enjoy the laid-back atmosphere on Tybee with biking and shopping near by and Historical Savannah only 20 minutes away.

Spacious well appointed condo with an amazing corner balcony that affords a beautiful beach view. Walking distance to all the south beach restaurants and shopping. Definitely staying here again.
The condo was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed(linen, coffee pot, kitchen essentials) the grill was nice. Pat and kathee were amazing and easy to get in touch with
The condo is very spacious and in a great location. It could use a little TLC (broken blinds, closet door off track, squeaky top bunk, definitely needs new skillets and better knives). Also, the WiFi was very weak in the front bedrooms. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would likely stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay at The Brass Rail over Memorial Day weekend. Our host, Kathee, is the sweetest woman and was very responsive, helpful and kind. The condo is amazing and clean with comfortable beds, great bathrooms, equipped kitchen, and amazing vies of the ocean. The boardwalk to the beach is about 30 yards away! The community has a wonderful pool and hot tub and is safe and secure. You cannot beat the location. But best of all, you cannot ask for a better host! We will definitely be back.

Brass Rail
We have been a long time visitor to Tybee Island and specifically to the Brass Rail Property. Until this trip - we've had nothing but positive experiences. Unfortunately, this property did not meet our expectations on this trip.
There were some major issues - like the AC not working and doors/windows that were broken. To be fair, the property manager was attentive to these issues. And we appreciated that.
However, beyond that, the property overall property is in seriousness of repair. We had bugs in the apartment, many mini-blinds did not work, there was missing or broken furniture, a gas grill that couldn't be used due to neglect, and many other things inside the apartment that made our stay less than ideal.
Additionally, and beyond the scope of this property manager, the over property has seriously declined since our last visit. The hallway specifically were in serious need of repair. There was broken furninute in the pool areas. And many other items.
All of this to say, we will not be staying at the Brass Rail condos again, nor with this propety owner specifically again.

First of all, I would like to say that most of Jeff's comments were unjustified. The real reason for such a negative review is that Jeff did $3000 of damage to this unit. In my 20 years in vacation rentals, only one time have we had a more destructive guest and that was a group of 30 college kids. We own 4 Brass Rail condos, and this is the first time I have ever had someone to rip a window apart. The customer service rep at Andersen windows and the manager from Home Depot who came to the condo both said that they had never seen anything like it. Andersen said that the window cannot be repaired and that the cost of the replacement will be about 2500. He also ripped the deadbolt lever and the gear completely out of one of the patio doors. I do not know how this could have been accidental. It seems to have been intentional destruction. We have been unable to rent the condo for 3 weeks while waiting for the parts to repair the patio door.
Jeff called the morning of his arrival, and we confirmed the check in time of 5pm. When the housekeepers left, Jeff found an unlocked door and let himself and his 6 children in 2 hours early without our knowledge and without our consent. This prevented our maintenance staff and our inspector from being able to get in to finish the condo. Jeff called us at 3:40 to tell us that he was in and everything was great, but the AC did not seem to be cooling. We were surprised and offered to move him to another unit that actually was ready and had been inspected and had no issues with the AC. Since it was only 67 outside and the low was to be in the 50's that night, he decided to stay in this one and we called the AC service company. They arrived just after lunch the next day and found a wire issue and fixed it in 15 minutes.
I told Jeff that we were delivering our new gas grills to the Brass Rail that day, but he said that he did not plan to grill and not to bother. So they delivered the other grills and rescheduled this one. Then he complains in his review.
We have monthly pest control. We have never seen a live or dead bug in this unit!! We did find some blinds that did not tilt when he left and our staff adjusted them.
THERE WERE NO BROKEN DOORS OR WINDOWS WHEN HE ARRIVED, BUT THERE WERE WHEN HE LEFT. A deadbolt was ripped off and a window was destroyed.
The HOA at the Brass Rail is spending almost 1 million to update things including the stairwells. This is taking 6 to 8 weeks but needs to be done.
Tybee Island overall did not disappoint! The beach was absolutely stunning and so wonderful for walking and swimming. The kids in our group had the best time! We enjoyed the large deck and use of the grill. The condo was spacious enough for 9 of us together. The private queen bed and pillows were extremely firm with very little comfort, so that made sleeping a bit difficult for us, but we made it work. The condo had all the supplies we needed to get started and for cooking which we appreciated. Pat and Kath were extremely pleasant and responsive to messages which was so appreciated. Brass Rail was a wonderful resort overall and located within walking distance of many attractions. The kids loved close proximity to ice cream and snow cones!
We treated Pat and Kathee's place as if we were home. We cooked meals in the kitchen, we grilled steaks on the grill, and we chilled with family and friends on the wrap-around couch. We were comfy in a comfy condo. We hope to be back soon.
The condo was huge and well appointed. Kathee was so nice. Asked us to stay for a late checkout and offered us an extra day!! Amazing view!! We couldn’t be happier. Will stay with Kathee every time!!
The location was great! The only downside was the condo is not very clean upon arrival and I had to clean it before I felt comfortable unloading my stuff. The front door code never worked to lock the door upon leaving the condo. The condo was fully stocked we had everything we needed. The location is walking distance to beach, restaurants, and shops.

Could not move in for the first three hours, I asked about a partial return of some money and never another word when my family was very nice about the situation. Able to get inside at 7:30 pm
My mom, niece, sis, and I really enjoyed our time at Tybee. The condo was comfortable and spacious. Having 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths helped make this a great experience as we each had plenty of room. The large dining table was perfect for family breakfast and evening game playing!
I will start with the positive. The property owner was super nice. The property had great location and security. We lived the pools and close location to the beach. The kitchen was sticked with adequate pots, pans and utensils. I was upset about a couple of things and in fainess to the property owner I will say I have not contacted her yet. I did find dried blood on the pillow sham and comfort of the master bedroom. I always bring my own so I removed them and placed them on a bench. I did find a few bugs in the kitchen.
I dont want to give a harsh review because the owner needs adequate time to address these issues. Over all if the issues are addressed I would stay again.
Me and my family absolutely enjoyed our stay! The room was clean and very spacious. The view of the ocean from the very large deck is amazing. Only a few steps to the beach as well. Mrs. Pat was a absolute sweetheart as she made sure we had everything we needed. She did a excellent job communicating with us from the point of booking until checkout. I would highly recommend staying here as we will be back for sure!
Unit 202 was comfortable and well supplied. It is located close to the beach and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, the property managers of this unit (Ocean Watch Properties) are very disorganized, making our reservation and check in process very stressful. First, the VRBO advertised unit 201, had already been reserved by the property managers to a previous renter. Many attempts to communicate with the property managers to correct the situation went unanswered. Initial contacts with VRBO also did little to resolve the situation. After months of constant prodding to both Ocean Watch and VRBO we were able to access a similar unit (202), and preserve our family vacation, but the process was never easy or enjoyable. While I would recommend unit 202, I would advise against booking with Ocean Watch Properties.

Our family of three sisters and one brother discovered Tybee in 2003 and fell in love with the island. We bought our property within three hours of ever setting foot on the island! It was love at first sight.
Why they chose this property
We own this unit and the one next to it so together they are perfect for a large group or family reunion. (There are 15 of us plus assorted friends and pets.) With that many people in our own group, we furnished the units to comfortably accommodate large groups. Two of the sisters are designers, so we are always adding and upgrading- you never know what additions you will find on the next trip.
