About this property
Cozy, clean, updated cabin- hot tub, fireplace, near skiing, hiking, Mt Rainier.
Look no further for the perfect mountain getaway! Mount Rainier Chipmunk Cabin sits on a corner lot full of ferns, cedar trees, and rhododendrons in the High Valley neighborhood (see map for location and proximity to other neighbors). We are on a quiet cul-de-sac with 60 acres of Gifford Pinchot forest across the street. The Cowlitz River is just a 5-minute walk away. We are close to Packwood town, minutes from hiking trails, 17 miles to White Pass Ski Resort, and 20-25 minutes from Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park entrances. This updated cabin is full of amenities that perfectly combine the nature of the Pacific Northwest with the comfort of fine lodging.
THE CABIN: 1 bedroom, 1 open loft bedroom, 3/4 bath, sleeps 5. All mattresses and linens are high-quality. High-speed internet throughout the house, and keyless entry.
Bedroom 1 (lower level): Queen bed, dresser, closet, nightstands, and reading lights
Bedroom 2 (upper, open loft): King bed, twin futon, dresser, closet, nightstands, and reading lights
Main room (lower level): chaise sofa, wood-burning stove/fireplace, smart TV with Netflix, YouTube Live TV, Hulu, Nintendo Switch, and large dining room table make for comfy nights of entertainment.
Remodeled kitchen (lower level): includes all major appliances and amenities to cook most any meal you could want. Washer/Dryer in separate building just off the back porch.
Outdoors: 7-person hot tub, Weber BBQ, picnic table, stringed lights, and outdoor fire pit with Adirondack chairs take living and enjoying the great outdoors to the next level! There is no fence, so please keep pets on leash (requirement of High Valley Community). There is a garage on the property that is for owner use only.
Our housekeepers are putting extra care into cleaning and sanitizing high-touch surfaces after every guest. Please reach out to us if you have any questions, or if you would like a copy of our cleaning and disinfection procedures.
We have taken great care to create the best possible home and environment for all types of different guests. We have been told we have covered every detail, and we stand strong behind the work and care we put into this vacation rental house. Thanks for considering a booking with us, and we hope you give us a chance to treat you to a lovely stay.
Note about traveling to Packwood: Please check pass information if you are visiting outside of summer months. Cayuse Pass (HWY123) and Skate Creek Rd. (FR 52) are impassable for many months even though your GPS may tell you otherwise. Cayuse Pass is a beautiful way to arrive from the Seattle area, but it is only open June - Oct. Skate Creek Rd. to and from the Nisqually entrance of Mt. Rainier is scenic as well, but is closed often in winter and even spring months. The most certain way to arrive from the Seattle and Portland areas is to go through Morton and enter on HWY 12. Scenic White Pass Highway (HWY 12) is cleared and kept open all year long. You can find updated information at the Washington Dept of Transportation website: https://www.wsdot.com/traffic/passes/
