About this property

MAY in the Great Smoky Mountains! Stay 2 nights get 3rd night FREE!!!

NEW MATTRESS!!!

Welcome to High Chalet #4101 one of the most panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains and LeConte peak that Tennessee has to offer! This view can be enjoyed directly from lying in bed, relaxing on the couch or enjoying your freshly brewed coffee or spot of tea right outside on the patio in a couple rocking chairs.

Stargazing is as simple as opening the curtains without ever leaving the bed! Due to the elevation, the stars are bright, plentiful and galactical! Let’s see who can spot Orion’s Belt first! (Hint: look for 3 bright stars in a row).

This condo is located on the first floor, so no struggles when it comes to carrying luggage, groceries or exhausted children. This also makes it easily accessible for people who may have compromised health issues or concerns with stairs. Simply park, walk in, unwind and start your vacation!

Unit #4101 is a studio with a queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa, so this is the perfect place for a romantic couple's getaway or a family with rambunctious kids! This unit comes fully-equipped with a full kitchen, dining room, full bathroom with a shower head that has an extension hose! The blackout curtains allow you to sleep in, or leave the curtains open and allow the sunshine to naturally awaken your spirits.

Our condo has been outfitted for your pleasure and for our family adventures, so we hope you enjoy the comforts we have added that other condos do not offer! Outside in the common grounds you can sit back and enjoy the fresh, crisp mountain air at about 2,500 ft in altitude, while grilling up your local favorites whether you caught some fresh fish or ventured into town for some local meats and produce. At High Chalet we provide an outdoor grill, swimming pool, 2 Jacuzzis (1 covered/1 uncovered), sauna, game room with Foosball, shuffle board, board games! There is free parking, free WIFI, flat screen TV, however the best thing to watch is Mr. Bear that enjoys his evening stroll through the complex just taking a gander to see if there is any leftover pizza! No worries, he is not interested in vacationers, but please do give him his space and watch from afar, as he too enjoys his privacy while dining.

Just 2 miles away all nestled in the mountains is the breathtaking Ober Ski Resort where you can ski, snowboard, dine, ice skate and ride ice bumper cars (both open all year). Throughout various times of the year, you can enjoy water slides, a carousel, miniature golf, kiddie rides, arcade, chair swings, amaze’n maze, alpine slides and the scenic ski mountain coaster. Also located at the Ober Ski Resort is a Wildlife Encounter experience where you can enjoy watching nature at its finest. You can view bears, bobcats, owls, otters, birds, flying squirrels, snakes, turtles, raccoons and the cute little cousins of Pepe Le Pew – skunks!

When you drive just a short 3.5 miles down the lush, tree lined, forest mountain road, you will be in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg! Here they offer some of the finest steakhouses, restaurants, world famous dinner shows, hiking, mountain biking, alpine roller coasters, ziplining, kayaking, water tubing, white water rafting, fly fishing, fresh water fishing, horseback riding, bird watching, scenic drives (8 mile craft trail), aerial tram, wildlife viewing, golfing, antiquing, aquarium and so much more!

As you stroll down the Parkway, you can watch local artisans make taffy, fudge, chocolates & foot long corn dogs! They also offer a variety of local wine tastings and moonshine samplings where you can kick back and relax in a rocking chair while listening to live music. Make sure you take the scenic “Chondola” (gondola) chair lift up to the Anakeesta Mountain Summit, where you will enter the magical Firefly Village! Anakeesta is a Cherokee word meaning “Place of the Balsams” or a place of high ground. Anakeesta rock was formed over 200 million years ago and is mostly slate. You can see Anakeesta rock high above Gatlinburg.

Up on this mountain with its Storybook Architecture you can view the quaint town of Gatlinburg and enjoy the majestic view of the Smoky Mountains including the world famous “hiker’s bucket list,” of Mt. LeConte. One admission allows you to ride up and down the mountain as many times as you’d like throughout the day. Plan to spend an evening up there, so you can dine in one of their restaurants, stroll into the ice cream parlor, pick up a pastry, go shopping, grab a local brew from the beer truck, kick back in a rocking chair and listen to live music.

For more of an adventurous kick, do NOT miss out on the 16 bridge Tree Canopy Walk where you are 40-60 feet suspended above the forest. Grab a friend, tap into your inner firefly and glide down the dueling ziplines side by side across 1,000+ feet, as you soar 125 feet in the air. This is the closest to Superman or Tinkerbell you will ever get! Make sure you hop a ride down the mountain in the new alpine coaster called the Rail Runner!
During the Summer months Anakeesta is the best spot to view thousands of fireflies, hence the name Firefly Village! Make sure you stay to watch the sunset, as it slowly fades into the Smoky Mountains and retires for the night. Located 10-17 miles from Gatlinburg are the two most jam-packed amusement and adventure towns of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. Here you will find the Dollywood Amusement Park, The Island with a 200 ft Ferris Wheel, Paula Deen’s restaurant, go-cart haven, dinner shows galore, antiquing & more! It’s a must for thrill-seekers to experience a helicopter tour of the Great Smoky Mountains!
Happy trails to all!
We look forward to sharing our mountain getaway with you for years to come!

High Chalet review
Condo was clean and just what we needed for our short stay. Could not get the temperature above 63 during our stay even though thermostat was set to 68. Owner was very friendly and even checked on us to make sure we arrived safely. Would definitely stay here again :)

Perfect little spot
My daughter and I came in for a last minute sporting event and this place was perfect! I have always wanted to stay in one of the “houses on the hill” as you look up from the main strip in Gatlinburg and this place was it! Very quaint and cozy, spotlessly clean, easy directions. Would absolutely stay again!

The roads are very dangerous leading up to this location. No guard rails and the ravine is right there next to the road. Certainly wouldn't drive it at night. This needs to be in the description.

nice mountain view, but disappointing upon arrival
condo was high up in the mountains. condo was not clean from the last guests when we arrived, and it took several messages to the host before we received a response to get a solution. lucky we found a set of clean sheets to change the bed. the condo was not cleaned until the next day. host apologized and we were given a refund for one night.
