Rocky Top Guesthouse on the River

Complete your stay with a magnificent view of the Mississippi River from this private guesthouse sitting high on the bluff. It is located only 1.2 miles from downtown, historic Hannibal where there are restaurants and shops, visitor attractions and parks.

2020 RENOVATIONS include removal of old wallpaper and popcorn ceilings and new paint in living room, kitchen and bathroom which fives the house a much fresher look. The guesthouse has been newly decorated.
870 square feet all to yourself! The bedroom has a NEW king bed and an oscillating fan on the dresser. There is also a queen bed in the living area. A privacy curtain is in place which can provide some separation from the living room. There are stairs leading to the entrance of this house from the parking area. There is a sizable deck with patio table and chairs. There is also a bench for sitting on to watch the barges and river boats go by. There are two lounge chairs on the deck also. A propane gas grill is available for outdoor grilling.

The guest house is separate from the owner’s house and there is no access to the garage area below the guest house.

Celebrated our 58th anniversary in this wonderful space. It really is one of the nicest properties we’ve stayed at…super clean, organized, high quality furnishings, comfortable bed, very quiet, and a magnificent view. Appreciate that owners don’t charge a cleaning fee and guests cooperate by following a few simple rules upon departure. Really a good find!
Wonderful spot for morning coffee and an evening cocktail .
Good spot to eat outdoors, facing north so no hot sun to contend with.

From the binoculars to watch the eagles, to the towel to wipe our dog's muddy paws, they thought of everything to make our visit perfect. We haven't had a vacation this relaxing in years. Absolutely beautiful property and view. Amazing hosts.

Rocky Top Guesthouse deserves its 10/10 rating. If I could, I’d give it an 11. Excellent communications from the very start. Very pet friendly. Hosts are truly accommodating and provide detailed instructions and suggestions for where to dine, what to do, etc.. Views from the deck are fabulous. I captured a beautiful photo of the sun rising over the Mississippi. EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED: My wife is very sensitive to perfumes and scents, so the day before arrival we asked if plug-ins and dryer sheets could be removed from the unit. The host went above and beyond and rewashed towels without fabric softener. Highly recommend Rocky Top on the River!

Absolutely Perfect

We had the most wonderful stay at Rocky Top. The property is absolutely perfect for a small family or a couple looking for a romantic getaway. The views are stunning, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the location is in a great spot, just minutes from downtown while also being just far enough out to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere.We stayed here for our 10th anniversary and couldn’t have been happier. We definitely plan to return.

Wouldn't stay any were else in Hannibal

Enough can not be said about the location and the view. This is the second time I have stayed and it was as great as I had remembered. It is clean and had everything we needed. The location is perfect. Will be staying here anytime I come to Hannibal.

Nice location with a spectacular view. Clean and well appointed, with lots of extras and great area insights! We were only there for one night, but already thinking about a return. Hannibal is a neat place!

Comfortable and relaxing with a great riverfront view!

The view of the Mississippi River was amazing and we spotted Bald Eagles several times during our visit. Accommodations were clean, comfortable and spacious. Felt at home and very peaceful. Great location to visit several of the local attractions. We hope to visit this host in the future.

This property exceeded expectations! The guest cottage was spotless and offered plenty of amenities. The view was breathtaking and the Mississippi River offered a perfect backdrop for the Eagle viewing. We plan to return again!

Cleanest vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in. Very spacious and homey. Location cannot be beat. Breathtaking view of river and farmland beyond can be seen from living room so was hard to focus on TV. :). Very gracious hosts - thank you so much, we’ll be back!!

Beautiful & Peaceful

The views are even better than the pictures show. Loved watching the Mississippi river go by as well as the traffic on the river. The birds, large and small were fun - saw an Eagle several times and Cardinals. The proximity to Hannibal is very handy - lots to see and do. Enjoyed the Mark Twain cave, Lover's Leap, Riverside Park, Antique stores. Brick Oven pizza was good! Hope to come back again!

Went to Rocky Top for our Anniversary. Let me tell you, when I walked in I was in shock. It was so beautiful and you get exactly what you seen Vrbo, and so much more. The views all day and evening geougous. Privacy like your in your own woods.Ted and Carol what a great place and thank you so much for allowing us to really enjoy your place. Perfect Getaway

This place has perfect views of the river and railroad track along the bank! It was immaculate and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. I honestly can't think of anything that would improve this rental. The deck was a favorite spot to gather with our best friends. And even inside you had a great view of the river and nature . We heard and saw many birds and a couple of eagles in flight. And the location to town was perfect, just far enough away but close enough to get to. The steps leading up to the entry and the steep driveway were not an issue. We will definitely return during a different season. This place gets every star possible!

Loved it

It was just as advertised. Great view overlooking the Mississippi River in a secluded area. The house was very nice, everything we needed, easy to get to and not far from town. I would for sure recommend it to anyone and may go back when it is cooler. A lot of new scents for our adventurous dog.
