Fort George Island Private Treehouse Centrally located and Elevated!


(Accesible by car) (vrbo uses AI labeling for photo captions and can be incorrect) Our property is located on one of the many islands located within the Timucuan Ecological Preserve and has been branded as the North Florida Keys. The Hideaway was just recently remodeled with modern taste and simple design to ensure that our guests feel comfortable in every aspect of their stay. All renovations were also completed using environmentally friendly and repurposed materials where possible, while maintaining quality craftsmanship. The space has one bedroom, kitchen, and living room as well as a bathroom. The house also sits on a large lot so our guests can bring their boats or pwc’s to enjoy the local waters. It is a private space, provides private parking, a partially fenced yard and lots of wildlife!

Boating:
There are over 10 boat ramps within 4 miles (the closest is public and located about.3 miles from the property) and many more just outside that radius to provide the perfect location to explore the area or take part in any local fishing tournaments. If you wish to rent a boat there is a marina located a half a mile down the road that offers boat rentals and fuel.
Fishing:
There are half a dozen bait shops within 4 miles that offer live bait and frozen bait. They also offer all gear and tackle needed for your trip
Food:
While there are locations all throughout Jacksonville we can recommend, there are three seafood restaurants located on the water all within 4 miles that are highly rated. Each is very different from the next and offer beautiful views for dinner. For those who would prefer to eat home, you can stop by one of our local shrimpers where you can buy fresh shrimp directly off the boat to take home and cook!
State and Local Parks:
There are dozens of state parks located within the Timucuan Ecological Preserve that offer birding, bike trails, hiking trails, Segway tours, kayak rentals, automobile friendly beaches, pedestrian traffic beaches, beachside pavilions and much more!

I Love The Treehouse!

It’s a very sweet and simple stay. Everything is about a 15 minute drive away, some things are more. BUT you have some great little restaurants out that way, and the preserve is worth checking out. Lots of fishing opportunities! It’s cozy and comfy if you want to just relax at the tree house. Just needs a bigger coffee pot for more drinking coffee on the lovely porch or swings!

Peaceful retreat

We had a great stay in the treehouse! It is set back a little off the main road so we didn’t hear much traffic. It was only about a 10 minute drive to one of our favorite beaches and a decent selection of places to eat nearby. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. We spent a good amount of time on the deck relaxing but didn’t make it down to the lower deck much. Our host stayed in communication with us and checked to make sure we were good and to see if we needed anything. Keep in mind though that it is a treehouse, so there are plenty of stairs inside and out so be ready for a bit of exercise!

Fun private treehouse

This was our second time staying here and we loved it even more than the first time. The bed swing they built outside is one of the best things they could have done. The view is nice, it’s quiet and has all of the necessities. One of the easiest check ins I have encountered and easy communication with the host. Love this place and will be staying here again in the future.

Lovely Home on the Island

The home was a perfect place for us to stay. The owner was very responsive and offered their knowledge of the area when my husband and I’s initial plans for a beach wedding fell through, due to inclement weather. We can’t wait to come back and stay again.

A unique getaway at a great price!

Me and my girlfriend have stayed at several treehouses the last couple years, as a new way to travel and this is by far top of the list. It was so close to everything, extremely clean and gave the tree house feel but was as comfortable as our home. Also price wise, I think this this is the cheapest we’ve stayed in , since most of the nice ones are around 300 a night and by far was the best value. With that being said would 100% be revisiting for a week later this summer.

My husband and I stayed in this house for 4th of July weekend and it was spotlessly clean and there were great seafood restaurants super close by! The drive into Jacksonville was an easy one. This was actually the perfect place for us given our plans during our stay. Circular entry / exit and plenty of room to park our truck and boat. Minimally furnished and simply decorated. Comfortable and cozy. This place is 5 minutes from a bait & tackle shop, 5 minutes to the Palms restaurant & 5 minutes to the public boat ramp. The bed was soft and comfortable. My only suggestion to the host would be to add a colander in the kitchen. We tried to make spaghetti our first evening there but didn't have a strainer. I wish we could find a place like this every time to go on vacation. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Property owners made our stay very easy and enjoyable. The location is great, especially if you’re coming from Jacksonville Airport! The treehouse has a fantastic AC unit so the humidity is not a problem. Lots to do on the property, and in the surrounding area, which they leave a folder full of different pamphlets and activities around! Communication was very easy as well, all my questions were answered quick and honestly. Would definitely recommend the treehouse for anyone looking for a change of scenery:)

First and foremost, this is a tree house. It is built in a cluster of trees and walking upstairs is a necessity. With that said, this was an experience i will never forget. All the comforts of home, nice little kitchen, living room, bathroom all on the first floor. Second floor has a good sized bedroom with a comfortable bed. House was very clean and the owners were in constant communication to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay nortg of the Jacksonville area.

Clean and great location

My husband and I stayed in the treehouse for a long weekend. It was spotless! The location was perfect for us as it’s a short drive to Amelia Island, which we love. We also had a short drive to Jacksonville and even did a day trip to St Augustine. Bed was comfortable and there was also an extra large blanket. This little place had everything we needed. I also felt that the host wanted to be sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. One final note…other reviews say there’s only a few channels and no starter supplies…that was NOT our experience. TV had Netflix and other internet services. There were two bottles of dish soap, full roll of paper towels, 3-4 rolls of toilet paper and a whole box of garbage bags. Thanks for hosting us!
