About this property

This is a perfect quiet and peaceful get-away! Stay in a nice casita, located above our garage, and explore the beautiful hills and trails of Southern Utah! (No dogs please) We have 2 clean, sand coral areas and you can bring your horses. Our Casita is located upstairs above our garage, and provides a perfect tranquil get away for a single person, couple or small family. The Casita has a full bathroom, small kitchen area with sink, small fridge and microwave. There is not a cook top or oven, but you are welcome to use our gas BBQ. It is one large room with a queen bed, bunk beds, and a couch that makes into a very comfortable blow up queen bed. There is a table and chairs, and of course heat and A/C.
There is a cabinet full of games for kids and adults, puzzles, and lots and lots of toys. The room has a flat screen TV with internet and satellite, VCR with lots of movies, and WII.
The room has a balcony which looks out over the horse area, and a magnificent view of the whole valley. We own most of the hill behind the house, and if you are energetic, the view at the top is worth the hike! Just up the road from us is Baker Reservoir, with fishing and camp areas, and also Gunlock and Sand Cove Reservoirs. Beautiful Pine Valley is 15 min up the road, with wonderful camping, hiking and fishing. And we are 10 minutes from amazing Snow Canyon, which is a mini Zion without the people and hassles! (Beautiful hiking, rock climbing, biking, camping, riding,)
Please let us know If you would like to bring your horses . They must be up to date on vaccines and healthy.
We are most likely on the premises in the main house during your stay. We will not bother your or intrude on your time!

I love this place!

This is the second time I've stayed here. It has been perfect for me and my kids both times. Very easy to check in and out. The loft is large and spacious, and the driveway has plenty of space for an SUV pulling a trailer. Teri is great to work with. I have no complaints at all!

Quiet little ranch

Loved this picturesque ranch away from the hustle and bustle of St. George. We absolutely loved meeting the horses and goats. The owners were very responsive and accommodating.

Perfect spot for some mom/ daughter time

We rented this spot for my daughter's soccer tournament. What a treat to get to share this beautiful property! My daughter and i loved the views and the animals. And convenient to so many amazing things!!!

Veyo Getaway

We stayed here while the rest of our group stayed in Veyo Pool Campground. It was perfect. Way too hot to camp but just 5 minutes away from our group. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We raised our 4 children in Southern Calif where Joel had a dental practice for 31 years. We moved to Dammeron Valley to retire and follow our dream of having a small horse ranch and explore Southern Utah on horseback. It is a wonderful little town and we are so blessed to be surrounded by God's creations in this beautiful corner of the world.

Why they chose this property

Our entire house is available to rent on another listing on this site, but we thought it would be fun to open up an additional option of renting just our casita above the garage. There are so many beautiful horse trails in the area, and we have 2 clean, sand corals should you desire to bring your horses and do some Southern Utah riding.
Our property is unique because it sits on 5 acres, 15 minutes from St. George, and in a remote and tranquil setting where you can truly escape from the world. It is also 12-15 degrees cooler here than in St. George. You can sit out on the balcony in the evening and look out over the valley and enjoy a beautiful sunset, and then a clear sky full of stars. The valley has a "dark sky" policy in the evening so everyone can enjoy the stars without bright lights distracting you. It is quiet and peaceful and you will enjoy the wildlife right in our yard; deer, rabbits, hawks and eagles flying off the cliffs behind our home.
We have horses, goats and chickens on the property, We have a NO pet policy inside the casita. In town is a great boarding facility with outdoor playground for your dog.

What makes this property unique

Peace, quiet and privacy. Unlike most of the other rentals in the area, we sit up on a hill by ourselves on 5 acres, away from neighbors, traffic and noise. Our back yard is our "eagle ridge" where you can spot eagles hovering, deer wandering, or hike to the top for a breathtaking view. You can sit on the patio of our casita and enjoy the view of the valley and the sunset, and watch the horses and goats below. There is private entry into the garage that is attached to our home with a breezeway, and up the stairs to your room.
Five minutes up the road is the town of Veyo, with famous Veyo Pies. Although if you like apple and cherry pies, Outlaw bakery sells them inside both of the grocery stores, along with their turnovers which are to die for. The 2 stores are across the street from each other and have most of your basic foods, along with hardware and misc at Spanish Trails on the right. Above Spanish Trails store there is a little roller rink equipped with all the skates that you can rent out for your family very reasonably. In the back of Spanish Trails (inside the store) is a great little cafe with sandwiches and pizza. Veyo also has a Mexican restaurant (Chips 'n Salsa) and Pizza/Pasta restaurant (Slice of Veyo). There are 2 gas stations, and also a Family Dollar.
A few minutes up the road is Baker reservoir where there is fishing and camping. Beautiful Pine Valley is 20 min up the road, with amazing hikes, camping and fishing, and the Branding Iron Steakhouse open on weekends.
Of course St. George is 15 minutes down the road with endless food, entertainment, golf courses, pickle ball, tennis, live theater (don't miss the Tuachan outdoor theater) , antique stores, outlet shopping, Las Vegas is 2 hours away, Zion Park is an hour away. An easy drive to Bryce, Brian's head, Duck Creek, and so many other Southern Utah favorite destinations!
