Beautiful house for 8 people, heated pool May to September, sauna, garden.

Between Périgueux and Bergerac, this beautiful stone house with private swimming pool, enclosed garden with trees and barbecue and terrace. If you feel like it, you can enjoy the sauna and dive into the swimming pool before relaxing in the shade in the large tree-lined garden.
In a lively village with all the shops, the market on Friday morning or the gourmet market on Sunday morning and entertainment in season.
 4 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets, sauna. Equipped kitchen, large comfortable lounge, covered terrace. Swimming pool and pool house (barbecue, sink, shower) and a terrace where you can eat or drink an aperitif with friends.
Overlooking the exterior, a laundry room,
Fuel boiler and electric radiator, fireplace with insert to spend, for example, Christmas celebrations with the family.

The shops are 200 meters away, intermarket 1 kilometer and the car will only be useful for visiting our beautiful region.
Entrance with electric gate and private parking.

Family holiday

Lovely quirky property. The bathroom was something to behold. All marble. Unfortunately the jacuzzi in the bath wasn’t working. Very comfortable house but could do with more lighting. Fabulous pool and sauna but pool surrounds a bit slippery when wet. Walking distance to boulangerie and small supermarket. We had a great time. The host was charming and helpful. All in all fully recommended.

Hello Liz, there is no jacuzzi, just a very large bathtub where a long time ago there were bubbles with an infernal noise (otherwise, there is a large heated swimming pool). Jacuzzi is a spa brand. it is also not a spa since it is not heated. it is therefore a bathtub as specified in the description of the house.Lighting: there are small traps, with hidden switches, you should have asked me, but everything is lit, terrace, living room, swimming pool... I hope you didn't hurt yourself slipping on the edge of the pool. Travertine is a noble material, can be a little slippery when the water is no longer in the pool. But what could be more beautiful? Stunning, well equipped house, in a fantastic location.

We spent 10 wonderful days at this amazing house and would recommend it to all. We are a family group of 8 persons aged from 11 to 85. The house was versatile enough to absorb us all easily and was well equipped with everything that we needed. The pool, garden and terrace area are beautiful. The pool is large and well maintained. Vergt is beautiful and the house is well positioned on the edge of the town a short walk from shops and restaurants. There is loads to do in the local area. Phillipe was a wonderful host and communications prior to and during our stay were answered by him quickly. We all fell in love with this place and will be back next year if Phillipe allows us!

The grandchildren were happy.

This is an older style house with a newer rear extension that has had some upgrades but still in need of a lot of renovation. Many items are broken or not working. The kitchen was full of other people's items and stank!! The pool was good but needed cleaning every day.

House is really large and full of character & rustic charm. The pool is amazing but does have a really deep end so take care with children. Water very clean and a ‘pool robot’ to clean it! Although there are 4 bedrooms, 2 of the rooms join onto each other! Be prepared to get even closer to your family! Some of mattresses have seen better days. Also one bathroom is outside next to the pool which although useful in the day - not very practical at night. There is an old steep staircase down to one of the toilets too so care needs to be taken! The town of Vergt seems to come alive on a Thursday to Sunday and is very sleepy the rest of the time with many shops shut. Very useful large Spar and cafe bars 👍. Overall we had a lovely holiday and found the property good value for money. It is well stocked with everything you need for a relaxing holiday 😀👍

The property is very well located, with a fantastic swimming pool. Philippe was always quick to respond to anything we needed which made us feel comfortable. He is a very nice person and is always keen to accommodate whatever we needed.We felt the cleaning of the property could have been much better, along with overall maintenance of the property.The property is generally quite tired.We have some constructive suggestions which we believe would bring about improvement, as follows:1.A hand rail for entering and exiting the swimming pool would make this much safer.2.Door locks should be installed on utility and storage areas as a safeguard for children.3.Locks or retarders on windows would improve the safety for children..4. Replacement mosquito nets on windows are required.These were either missing,damaged or unable to be secured.5. Some external dining chairs and sunloungers appreared to be unsafe and need replacing.6. The garden needs to be looked after, as lawns and trees needed to be managed in a far better way. It was generally untidy.7. The balcony area needs to be replaced as it did not seem very safe to us. We were told that only a maximum of 2 people could walk on it due to water damage and temporary repairs!These are not real criticisms, as we recognise the property is old and has French charm etc .We believe the suggestions we have made could and should be resolved to bring about an improvement for the property..

Philippe heeft ons ontvangen! Een man met passie voor de woning. De woning heeft alles wat maar kunt verzinnen. Het enige puntje is dat het huis wat achterstallig onderhoud heeft. Verf en deurknopjes. Maar het is echt een geweldig huis. En Philippe is enorm hulpvaardig en vriendelijk.

We enjoyed our stay at No. 14 in Vergt. The house was great but a little tired

The pool is lovely, a good size and location. The shower/toilet/sauna is great. The pool is well kitted out with floats etc. The house is in need of decorating and repair. There are several things that need fixing (door handles, gas ring, cracked glass, unstable bannister, jacuzzi bath not working) and decorating (peeling paint on the ceiling) which was disappointing. Vergt is alot quieter than the reviews suggest which with 3 older teens was a shame for independence. Phillipe was very amenable and came over when asked. We had a relaxing break.

Gîte non entretenu qui ne vaut pas son prix. Ménage plus que sommaire: araignée et sa toile dans la baignoire, cheveux dans la douche, traces dans le frigo, etc. Matériel plus que vieillissant: aspirateur qui se déboîte, literie très fatiguée, etc. C'est regrettable car piscine et village sont agréables.

Bonjour Loïc, Je suis désolé pour les oublis de ménage. Nous avons pris note de vos remarques et ferons le nécessaire. L'aspirateur mérite effectivement un renouvellement. Pour les literies, 5 matelas sont neufs et ont étés changés avant votre séjour. (?) Nous nous efforçons de rendre le séjour de nos locataires agréable. Beaucoup de travaux ont été effectués l'an dernier et beaucoup d'autres en cours de réalisation dont la rénovation totale du grand salon, de nouveaux volets, peinture dans certaines pièces.... Emplacement au top même si en bord de route du fait de la localisation : cœur du village à moins de 200 mètres à pied. Piscine au calme et à l'abri des regards. Terrasse ombragée et barbecue couvert. La maison a besoin d'un petit rafraîchissement mais cela tombe bien les travaux doivent démarrer cet automne... peut-être y reviendrons-nous pour en profiter à nouveau. Et cette fois on amènera une petite bouteille de rhum arrangé maison à notre hôte.

Maison agréable mais vieillissante

Cette location est idéalement située pour visiter la région mais la maison est vieillissante … Notre hôte Philippe nous a précisé que des travaux de rafraichissement devraient être entrepris cette d’année. En effet la porte de la salle de bain principale ferme avec grande difficulté ainsi que les 2 portes fenêtres. Les literies des 2 chambres avec lit simple ne sont pas du tout confortables et mériteraient d’être changé. Comme déjà évoqué par d’autres vacanciers les éclairages d’extérieurs ne sont pas suffisants pour diner dehors le soir. Pour finir, il faut préciser que 2 chambres donnent sur une rue passante donc en cas de chaleur ce sera difficile de dormir avec les fenêtres ouvertes à cause du bruit de la circulation. Sinon maison grande et agréable et le jardin et la piscine sont tops et Phlippe est à l’écoute de la moindre demande
