SCHAFFER'S MILL- Luxury & Cozy Home, Hot Tub, 3,700 sq ft! Excellent location!

Steve started in college as an architect at Cal Poly San Luis Obisbo. In the summer of his sophmore year, he had an opportunity to spend 2 weeks with one of his classmates in South Lake Tahoe. Steve fell in love with the Timber and Stone Traditional Lodge Style Homes, which became his 30 year dream. Over the next 20 years, we spent 2 weeks every summer in North Lake Tahoe. During these vacations, we spent several days researching and planning ideas for our dream home. The results of this planning became our reality in the building of the Stickley House. The home is located on the First Hole of the Schaffer's Mill Golf Course (The number #1 Rated New Golf Course in the Sierras2008). With Steve's background in architecture, engineering, and 38 years in the construction industry, no detail was spared in the building of the Stickley Mountain House.

The house features a split face granite facade, cedar lap siding, and port orford timbers, along with split face stone granite columns. The front arched stone entry way is one of the first things I love about this house when I pull into the driveway.

The same theme of the mountain house is maintained inside the home, with a 23 foot high split face granite fireplace in the great room. The home also features hand scraped Hickory Floors and knotty alder doors and trim. All designed in the theme of the Traditional Tahoe Mountain Home.

So, after all these years, we are very happy with the beautiful and relaxing home we built here at Schaffer's Mill Golf & Lake Club!

Our home with the arched entryway and the gorgeous golf course as a backdrop to the views off our back patio and balcony, makes this home a relaxing oasis. In the winter, it becomes a Winter Wonderland!

Every room décor was picked with the Mountain Home Theme in mind. We really hope you will enjoy the house as much as we do!!

The Four Seasons in Lake Tahoe are like a dream. I remember when I first started coming to Lake Tahoe (late 80's), I always visited during the ski season in the winter. Well then a few years later, I visited Lake Tahoe in the summer with my friends and was in awe of the spectacular lake we call Lake Tahoe. There is as much to do in the summer (maybe even more for some), that I was destined to move here one day. My dreams came true when I met Steve and we planned on building our dream home. We hope you enjoy what Mother Nature has in store for you, when you visit this magic place.
