A historical villa with a PRIVATE INFINITY-EDGE POOL and views of the surrounding vineyards, Mt Etna and the gulf of Catania. At the villa it is possible to organise self-service dinners and a cooking class of typical Sicilian dishes, enriched with herbs picked directly from the surrounding land.
The private pool of Villa Eremo Sant'Emilia has a gradual entrance which is perfect for sun bathing and for children, and it boasts a hydromassage corner.
The villa consists of a main building and an annexe located about 100 metres away.

Stairs lead to a reading room with another terrace and an even better view. Both indoor and outdoor there is space for dining together around a table.

We had a lovely stay here. The views are stunning. Salvo was great and responded quickly when there was issues with the boiler. I would recommend organizing a cooking class through Salvo we were taught how to make authentic Lasagne and the local wine was amazing. A great location and property. Thank you.
Really good for big groups. A lot of social areas and relaxing atmosphere. In the surrounding towns very little tourist so a real italian holiday. The chairs and outdoor table was a bit old. When closing the shutters the bedrooms got really dark and it is a stone building so cold if you keep the doors closed during daytime. Good service and help when needed.

We stayed at Villa Eremo Sant'Emilia as two families, and it was absolutely wonderful. The property is stunning — spacious, peaceful, and with breathtaking views of Mount Etna. The pool is fantastic, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and there’s plenty of room for kids to play and adults to unwind.
A special mention goes to Salvo, the host, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. He welcomed us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed, which made our visit even more enjoyable.
The location is excellent as well — out off the main track but a great base for visiting nearby towns and attractions around Sicily (Etna, Catania, Taormina, Syracuse, Noto and more). We truly enjoyed every moment and would love to come back. Highly recommended for families or groups looking for comfort, beauty, and convenience all in one place!

This is the best villa I have ever stayed at! The pictures don’t do it justice. The pool is amazing and the grounds have everything you need. We came as a group of 16 and it was more than big enough. We will definitely be coming back.

If you're looking for a stunning location with amazing views and amenities, this is it. I stayed here for a family holiday of 10 people and it fit us just right. I would recommend the local winery Vini Eudes for a tour - it's a ten minute walk from the property. I would also recommend hiring a car if you stay here as there is very little public transport. 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a spacious property for a secluded getaway.

The villa is in such a beautiful location with stunning views of both Mount Etna and the coast. It is quite isolated so a car is a must. That being said, the villa is very well equipped for cooking, laundry etc. so as long as you're well stocked you'll be fine!
9 friends rendezvous in Sicily. Kitchen could have been better equipped with items for cooking meals. Property grounds were being upgraded. Great communication with hosts. Nice local host.

Our family of 12 had a fantastic stay at Eremos Sant Emilia. It was perfect for us. The pool and the garden were a highlight, absolutely stunning with great views of the towns and sea below and Mount Etna above. The house has everything you need, with 4 spacious bedrooms in the main house and 2 in the Annex. There were also plenty of living spaces, which was appreciated with such a big group. The family that run the Villa were great, very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend.
It was really amazing!
The contact was quick and easy and he was waiting for us to arrive so we could go straight into the villa. Everything was so pretty and clean.
We were wirh 17 girls and they places a extra bed in a room what was fine.
They cleaned up daily and helped us everytime we needed it is even without asking.
Also they would recommended where we should go on our stay.
On the day we left they let us stay until we had to leave for the airport and enjoy the pool for the last day!
In short we loved it all!
Thank you for this amazing trip

Had a really great stay here. The villa is lovely and much bigger and better than the photos depict. The outdoor space was amazing, we were glad there were lots of Sun loungers and the umbrella/shade in the grass. The view was stunning, best thing I’ve ever seen for a accommodation views. Host very helpful prior to arrival with all the questions we had. Our flights got cancelled and they were very accommodating to our change of plans. Some suggestions: Could have better photos and a floor plan that really highlights the size of the inside, the kitchen / dinning / living area for example. Worth noting there are people working on site in the vineyards and driveway during your stay. The pool bar could do with an outdoor fridge Overall an amazing stay here so thank you!

Without hesitation, I can say this was one of the most amazing stays/experiences I've ever had while traveling. There were eleven of us including children and the villa was absolutely perfect for our week-long holiday in Sicily. First of all, communication with the host was flawless and the hospitality was first class. The keyholder went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, and we received little treats nearly everyday which only added to our satisfaction. If there was an issue, the keyholder made sure it was immediately taken care of without question. Regarding the villa, it is spectacular! You can get lost in it while exploring the hallways and towers -- the kids thought they were living in a real castle. While it's not in pristine condition, the little imperfections add to the homely feel of the place. The infinity pool and pool bar are also highlights of the villa, and they're perfect for lazy afternoons and enjoying the views of Mt. Etna and surrounding countryside.

The setting is fantastic. A few updates to kitchen utensils would help. The pool was a little on the cool side but what a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine and a book or just take in the view! The wifi internet was interrupted/damaged by a thunderstorm and on the third day the dishwasher stopped working. The owners were very quick to resolve these issues and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. One small issue ( which is out of the owners' control) is there are a lot dogs on neighbouring properties who tend to bark through the night. Ear plugs took care of this.

Eremo Santa Emilia old monastery is a wonderful place with its own soul and one of the most gorgeous and breathtaking views you can imagine in Sicily. It is spacious, each of the room has a separate bathroom and the door outside; the kitchen is well equipped, there are several places where you can enjoy your meal outside. I recommend ordering the dinner- we had welcome rustical one and also seafood dinner, what with their local wine makes a wonderful evening with stunning view over Catania. Swimmingpool is perfect for kids, it also has a jacuzzi for adults. The outside garden is another great thing- the grass is so perfectly kept so we could play with young kids without worrying that they could hurt themselves. The Trecastani shops and restaurants are within 3-5 min drive. It is also a good localization for trekking at Etna- we did it several times for sunrise. Overall the place is much better than it looks on the photos and we recommend it truly!

The pool is the main feature of this home, which has an amazing view and is super clean (they clean it quite regularly and did so even throughout our stay which we really appreciated). It overlooks the vineyards and has an infinity edge! The annexe house is a super cute home to be in. However, the main house is a lot older than it looks in the photos which we weren't expecting. It is a very old home that is quite worn down with old showers, but the view outside and surrounding areas make up for it. There are lots of bugs in the area as you're quite high in mountainous areas (view of Etna is amazing!) so take bug spray! Also, towels are changed weekly so bring your own towels if you stay longer, as we had to keep washing them over for pool use and shower use. Overall, the view is amazing but do bear in mind that the house is old. Also, they require ID checks on day of check in. This was difficult and an annoying thing to do for 17 of us who arrived so make sure you have this ready before the trip.

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you had a nice stay! The villa comes with a set of bathroom towels for each guest. Pool/beach towels are not included. Bathroom towels should not be used for the pool or for the beach. The ID check is required by the law. I understand it can be long for big groups. That's why we ask guests to send their documents a day in advance so to speed up the check-in process.

Wonderful Family Holiday
This villa has the potential to be 5star The reason I have rated 4 is for the slight niggles we experienced
A 'VillaGuide' would have been helpful with information not only of the local area but of the general functioning of the property i.e. the outside lighting.
The lack of air conditioning was a massive issue for our stay when temperatures reached over 38c. Sleep was almost impossible. Leaving doors open at night to try and get some cooler air was not useful as cats came in. Plus incessant barking of dogs didn't help. I completely understand that guard dogs are useful but have to say we all found it distressing that the guard dog for this villa was chained up day and night with just a kennel for shade in the searing heat.
Guests need to note that there is no dishwasher in the main villa. The dishwasher is located in the Dependence 100m away. There was no maid service during our stay (in itself was no problem) however due to the heat we would have liked a change of bed lined half-way through our week but there was no fresh linen to be found. The provision of just 2-3 tea towels was nowhere near enough.
There were only four sunbeds by the pool. A massive negative as we, as a family spent a lot of time by the pool and sitting on an upright plastic chair was not conducive to a relaxed day. Please supply at least another 4 if not 6 sun loungers!
POSITIVES: The villa is fabulous. The exclusivity it offers is wonderful. Bedrooms although small were perfectly adequate. Spacious dining room and lounge. We tended to lunch at the outdoor table which again was plenty large enough for 12 of us and situated in a delightful shady area under trees. Super.
The outside areas are where this villa really shines. So much outdoor space! Even a large group can find lovely spots for privacy or peace. The pool is magnificent and wonderful for children and adults. The views from the gardens are spectacular.
We asked the owner (an absolute gentleman) if a lunch could be provided for us on arrival and they provided a superb feast!. A truly wonderful and memorable Sicilian meal. He also responded immediately to our request for electric fans to try to combat the hot nights which was appreciated, although only air-con would have worked during our heat-wave stay. Management obviously want to please so if our 'niggles' are seen as suggestions and addressed this villa in my view would without doubt be 5-star and we would love to return.

Thank you for your review. Please note that you can always have extra cleaning and extra towels and linen for the beds. Just give us a call. Now there are 10 loungers and a dish washer has been installed in the main building too. Besides, the pool has now 2 new important features:
- hydro massage area
- heated water (5 degrees warmer water then without the heating system)
The nearest dogs live 400 meters from the villa. Dogs of some neighbors that sometimes bark.
