Best Spot

The apartment is in a great location in the cozy and beautiful Houlgate. You can walk straight from the front door onto the boulevard. And many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The apartment is not too spacious but spacious enough for the two of us. And even in a colder period it can be heated quickly and comfortably. The kitchen is reasonably equipped as long as you do not want to cook too extensively. We had a fantastic week, partly thanks to the apartment and the great surroundings.

Ein ganz besonderer Teil dieses sehr schönen Urlaubs, war unsere Unterkunft. Das denkmalgeschützte Gebäude ist an sich schon toll. Aber selten findet man eine farblich und ästhetisch so stimmig eingerichteten Wohnung.Außerdem sind Meerblick und Lage unschlagbar. Wir (2 Eltern und ihr Teenagerkind) waren vorher alle noch nicht in der Normandie. Wir haben eine herrliche Zeit in Houlgate verbracht. Wir haben Wingfoil ausprobiert, gewandert, geschwommen, die Kultur kam nicht zu kurz und auch kulinarisch kamen alle auf ihre Kosten. Außerdem sind wir mit vielen entzückend freundlichen Einwohnern und Miturlaubern unterschiedlichster Herkunft in Kontakt gekommen. Mit anderen Worten: wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Petit appartement vraiment bien situé avec très belle vue mer. Mais... odeurs de remontées d'égoûts infectes ! Heureusement que le temps nous a permis de garder les fenêtres ouvertes. D'après d'autres résidents, l'immeuble étant vétuste cela se produit régulièrement. Le concierge a fait comme si c'était la première fois... mwais...

Commentaire non sincère, il n'y a jamais de remontées d'égouts dans cet immeuble classé monument historique. Pour s'en convaincre il suffit de vérifier les avis déposés précédemment. Par contre cette locataire indélicate a cassé notre machine à café automatique achetée il y a 2 mois et nous a contacté à 9h30 pour que nous la remplaçions sur le champ. Ce qui a été fait dans l'heure. Pour ma part c'est liste noire, je ne peux conseiller cette voyageuse...

Une location dans un appartement bien situé qui se termine sur un goût amer, le propriétaire nous accusant d'avoir dégradé la porte du micro-ondes et nous intimant de payer les réparations. Aucun état des lieux à l'arrivée comme à la sortie, c'est un peu facile.

Cher Monsieur, il me semble que vous n'avez rien payé pour votre dégradation et pourtant la porte du micro-ondes a bien été abîmée suite à votre passage, photos à l'appui. Il aurait été plus courtois de le signaler lors de votre départ plutôt que de mettre un avis non sincère sur votre séjour. Heureusement d'autres vacanciers ont pu déposer un avis avant vous (tous 5*). Je recommande pas ce voyageur peu scrupuleux, soyez méfiant. Une expérience fort désagréable pour moi aussi, heureusement très rare...

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour cet été dans ce très bel appartement, que nous connaissions déjà pour l'avoir découvert à la Toussaint. Nous ne nous lassons pas de la vue imprenable sur la mer, de sa localisation parfaite en bord de plage, ainsi que de son confort et de ses prestations. L'appartement est idéal pour un couple avec un ou deux enfants et répond parfaitement à la description donnée. Nous tenons à remercier encore une fois son propriétaire, très disponible et accessible, ainsi que Mme Hébert et son mari qui ont rendu le séjour très agréable, de l'arrivée au départ, et se sont montrés hyper réactifs et présents en cas de besoin. Merci encore, et à très bientôt j'espère !

L'appartement est tout à fait conforme à la description et parfaitement équipé, la vue est magnifique et la plage vraiment au bas de l'immeuble ! Great Apartment

We have stayed in the Houlgate area several times and always liked the look of the Grand Hotel. The central location was great for the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. The corridor leading to the apartment was somewhat dark and dingy. However the apartment itself was light and very clean with all the facilities needed. The kitchen was very well equipped as was the shower room. We could have done with another armchair to have made life a little more comfortable. The temperature when we stayed was over 30 degrees, so a fan would have been helpful. That said, we will certainly consider staying there again. Parking was not really a problem, but we were staying outside the main holiday period. The weekend was particularly busy though. Although we telephoned the day before our arrival date giving our time of arrival, we still had to phone again when we arrived for the caretaker (who spoke no English) to bring the key. Also as we were leaving at 6 am, this could also have been problematic. A key safe would have made arrival and departure easier. Some notes in English with regard to the operation of the TV and microwave would have been helpful. The free WIFI was great. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Dear Mister Perry, Thanks for your valuable comments and to read that you will surely come back. You will be very welcomed and we hope to see you again soon ! Regarding your suggestions we will take them into account and make some improvements. Notably we will translate our welcome guide in English and explain clearly that all home appliances user's guide are arranged in a drawer but I understand that you did not see this. For the armchair we have 2 pieces in the seaview room, we intentionally not put another one in the living because we thought it could be too crowdy. About the fan, we will buy one, even we think that 30 celsius degrees in Houlgate is not something usual ! :-) Best regards
