Big Frog race weekend - Amazing view
Property had plenty of room and the views are amazing.
Reservation was made 13 days ahead and confirmed next day. 2 days prior to arrival received email that provided new information that the property is not reachable without an SUV or Truck. That would not be an issue since everyone in the group drives a truck including a couple of 4wd. The day prior received an email that you should plan on arriving and not being on the roads after dark. That was a little more alarming but we proceeded with the plan at this point even though we knew that being on road in dark was unavoidable. The issue turns out to be a stretch of road that is unmaintained and with significant erosion from rains and traffic. One driver bailed for alternative plan, the rest arrived without issue. Agreed that if it had rain before or after arrival passage was unlikely until dry.
The house is on well and on Saturday morning when departing the well evidently fell below pump level and all we got was air. Unable to do dishes but fortunately had already cooked and prepped for leaving.
I believe from conversations with owner that we are possibly first renters or at least very early renters, and the owner is new to the VRBO process. Could have used a good cleaning before our arrival and no instructions as to how to leave the property other than to lock doors and leave key.
For a group of guys it was not a big deal. But not sure a spouse or girlfriend would be pleased with the drive and water loss and some cleaning (having to wash dishes before using, etc). Maybe I am spoiled from all my past experiences with VRBO rentals.
