This bright and sunny newer 2-story private apartment is conveniently located at the back of our beautifully renovated 114-year-old private residence and has its own PRIVATE ENTRANCE with security system, high vaulted ceilings in the 1st floor living room, featuring a cozy gas fireplace and 55” 4K UHD flatscreen Smart TV, Blu Dot Bank Queen pull-out sleeper sofa, and 3/4 bath with shower. The dining area seats 4 and is next to our FULLY EQUIPPED Chefs kitchen, with stainless steel appliances including a large side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, gas range/oven, convection microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal, plus a shared outdoor BBQ grille. But, with so many great restaurants, deli, take-out and coffee shops within a few blocks, who wants to eat in?

The grand spiral staircase leads to the 2nd floor Master Bedroom suite with its comfy Queen bed and heated mattress pad, Blackout Window Shades, Heywood-Wakefield dresser, nightstands, Artemide Tolomeo bedside reading lamps and a 60” 4K UHD flatscreen Smart TV with Blu-Ray DVD player. The large closet hides a mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. The 2nd floor Master Bath features a full tub with shower, and plenty of storage space. Our free stacked washer/dryer finishes off the 2nd floor.

Pristine!

I stayed at Isles Inn Uptown for 6 nights while visiting friends in nearby Lowry Hill. The apartment is absolutely pristine. It’s clear that the hosts have put a great deal of thought into anticipating the needs their guests may have while traveling, both large and small. The design reflects their creativity, close attention to detail, and sense of fun. They have put together a very helpful binder full of instructions, information about the neighborhood and larger Minneapolis area, nearby restaurants etc. Communication is straightforward. And the location is outstanding! I skipped renting a car and walked to services, the lakes, the Walker, MIA and downtown. I used Uber/Lyft at night without issue. I would reserve this apartment again in a flash. Thank you!

Best and Most Favorite!

Isles Inn Uptown is the gem you're searching for! There will be no disappointment, no matter the season. Everything is super clean and exceptionally well maintained, and fully functional. It's quiet, comfortable, and has a warm inviting cheerful decor. Kitchen is fully equipped. Excellent bathrooms, clean and great water pressure. It's easy to control the heat or AC, and the fireplace provides an instant warm up when you come in from the chill. Excellent location close to Lake of the Isles and easy access to everywhere else. On-street parking right in front has always been easy for us every time we've stayed. Kent and Liz are the best hosts and readily available if needed. A home away from home, great for short or longer stays. You can't go wrong here. We always love staying here as it eliminates the difficulty or discomfort of being away from home. Thank you for another wonderful stay at Isles In Uptown!

Lovely property

This was probably our best stay with Vrbo. This property was very well furnished and equipped. Our host, Kent, was there to meet us when we arrived, helped us with luggage and gave us a walk through of the apartment. We stayed for a month and really enjoyed the location as it is very close to Lake of the Isles and uptown both. Great restaurants nearby and walking/running and bike paths galore.

Craftsmanship and cleanliness

Kent is a man who takes his own experiences as a renter of VRBO properties and applies them to his presentation as an owner. Detailed themes enrich the experience. The 800 sq foot apt is usable and he makes the space work. The owners live on site but are noninvasive and professional. However if you want to talk and enjoy educated discourse, by all means stop and chat with kent and Liz. We stayed there a month and really enjoyed our time on Humboldt Ave S. One small touch I liked. Rolled up clean towels in the drawer. Also the kitchen is well appointed and has everything one could need.

These days, you'll find many older run-down properties hastily listed as vacation rentals by inexperienced owners while waiting to be sold. Sure, their nightly rates are cheaper, but is that really where you want to stay? ISLES INN UPTOWN was designed and outfitted specifically as a vacation rental and was just completed in 2019! I have over 25 years experience both as a vacation property owner and seasoned traveler, and most recently owned and operated Inn Uptown at 31st & Irving from 2008 - 2014, when a divorce inspired me to find a property better suited for vacation rental. I purchased this property in 2015 and spent 3 years renovating from top to bottom, including a complete new 2nd story addition and the new ISLES INN UPTOWN vacation rental at the back of the home. It's an even better location than before, with close proximity to the chain of lakes (Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska, Cedar Lake, and Lake Harriet), and easy access to biking and walking paths around the lakes and city. It's just 1 mile South of downtown, and Interstates I-94 & I-35 are less than a mile away. The vibrant, eclectic East Isles Uptown neighborhood is the best in the Midwest! You'll love being able to walk to so many award-winning restaurants, and walking or biking our serene chain of lakes!
