About this property

Terlingua Creek Porch House: On Terlingua Creek

Summary:
Conveniently located two-bedroom two-bathroom home with porch overlooking Terlingua Creek

The Space:
Terlingua Creek Porch House is a two and one half bedrooms, two bath vacation home overlooking Terlingua Creek. Conveniently located just off highway 170 in Terlingua, with a porch overlooking a spring fed section of Terlingua Creek. This comfortable and convenient home is an ideal base for all of your Terlingua and Big Bend adventures.

The home has a private dining room, fully stocked kitchen, living room, two full bathrooms, and two and a half bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and private bathroom with a spacious shower. The second bedroom has two twin beds. There is also a semi-private space connected to the living room that has a twin bed and a small desk. With one queen and three twin beds, the Creek House sleeps five comfortably.

Covered Porch Overlooking the Creek: The signature feature of this vacation getaway is the spacious covered porch overlooking a spring fed portion of Terlingua Creek. Water is rare in the desert, but always in view just below our porch. In true Terlingua style, there is also a small, movable bar on the porch.

Fire Pit: Starry skies and morning coffee are best enjoyed beside our rock lined fire pit. Be sure to bring firewood. Small bundles of firewood can be purchased from the nearby Cottonwood General Store.

Worked well for our group
The property was very suitable for our group of three motorcycle travelers. We would not hesitate to stay there again should the need arise.

Base for exploring the park
Spent the weekend exploring Big Bend Park with friends. This was a quiet, practical place to serve as base camp. We had all the amenities needed as well as close to restaurants for evening dinners.

Porch House is Great
This was our second time at the Porch House. Came for the Cook-off and also had a great time with family on the porch overlooking Terlingua Creek. House was clean and perfect for 5 adults. There is a nice kitchen and 2 full baths. There is also a grill on the porch that invites you to cook out. We didn't as our time was limited and we wanted to visit several spots while in Terlingua.

Great house in great location
Loved the location of the house. It was just a couple of miles from the Terlingua Ghost Town (where there are several great places to eat) and the businesses that provide Big Bend tours. Also just a few miles from the entrance to Big Bend National Park.

Perfect basecamp for Big Bend Natl Park and surrounding area
The Porch House was just what we needed as a basecamp to explore Big Bend. We were comfortable, and the property owners were communicative and provided a lot of information beforehand. The house is not "fancy" - in keeping with Terlingua - but we enjoyed dinner on the fabulous porch and were comfortable here. It is very close to Far Flung Outdoor Center, a couple of restaurants, and of course the edge of BBNP. Night skies are amazing, and it was a quiet environment every night, even with La Kiva and a little live music across the creek.
