The house was fabulous… the neighborhood a little scary
The house was absolutely perfect. Well maintained and the host was great. The furnace stopped working and we had space heaters being delivered right away. The host was super attentive. The location was also convenient to downtown Atlanta and the cheer competition we were there for. That being said, the neighborhood is sketchy and scary at night. Lots of drugs deals happening, homeless people and what seemed like petty theft. But, we were careful about going out at night and kept to ourselves and didn’t engage. Once we got used to it and took reasonable precautions, we were good. To be clear, this is an up and coming neighborhood with lots of new houses in between the vacant lots and boarded up empty houses.
The location was close to the locations for the wedding. We enjoyed not having to get on the 75/85 traffic all that much. The sound at night was more quite than expected. We appreciated it with all light sleepers that are in my family. We just had the most comfortable stay. We hope that this property is available next visit.
The home was beautiful and presented well. The only grievances I have is in the master bathroom. The shower was nice but the large window looks like someone may have scraped the window frost off. Meaning the window is completely see through especially at night when the lights are on. But other than that, the home was lovely.
We stayed for a girls trip in Atlanta. The house was clean and the communication with the host was great. The neighborhood wasn’t the greatest, but we felt perfectly safe and the neighbors were friendly every time we saw them outside.
We arrived at the property and the neighborhood was not what we had expected from the listing. There is an apartment complex next door and a store across the street with hand painted lettering stating, “NO LOITERING!” We did not feel the house was going to be safe for coming and going during night time hours. There was a woman walking topless down the street and was clearly not in her right mind. There was a big pile of trash in the fenced area of the back yard. When I contacted the host to let him know we did not feel safe, he did not respond. We decided to leave and stay elsewhere. I had to contact the host 24 hours later to request my damage deposit. He did not offer any kind of apology or refund of any kind. I have stayed at numerous VRBOs and have never had such a terrible experience. I did report it to VRBO, but mainly wanted to share so no one else makes this mistake.

Cute Home in a Sketchy Neighborhood
The host and the home are lovely. The property was comfortable, well equipped with all our essential needs.
The location was near our conference at the World Congress Center. However, the neighborhood was very sketchy. Even our Uber driver cautioned us about the area. The neighbors are nice but sit on the porch all hours of the night with a lot of "activity" - cars pull up, run in the neigbors house then leave...all day/night.
Also, there really isn't an outdoor space to enjoy. The backyard has chairs but it hasn't been dusted off in a while and the backyard needs a little love to make it a vibe. The front porch is cute but lots of spiders.
All in all, it met our needs and is great for a large group. Again, the host Michael was gracious, communicative, and provided a clean home.
Matt made our entire trip so much less stressful by being flexible with check-in and check-out times. I was the only adult on a trip with 7 teens, and my SUV was filled to the brim with kids and stuff!!
The house was great!! We had enough room to spread out, and we all agreed that the beds in every room were some of the most comfortable we've ever slept on.
Thanks again Matt!
The location is great for attending events at Georgia Tech. It's just a few minute drive to campus.
House looked newly renovated, and was very clean. Bedrooms were comfortable, as were the living spaces. Full kitchen was great for most of our meals.
Any questions were answered quickly.
Family sleeping privacy in comfy home near everything.
This property was less than 4 minutes from wedding venue at Guardian Works and the 4 BR/3 bath accommodations were perfect for our multi-generational family (4 adults, 2 kids). All mattresses & pillows seem new - very comfy. Fenced back yard mostly dirt, so that was disappointing, but we took walks to get outdoors & I understand there is a nearby park. The neighborhood is transitioning (lots of new construction among some boarded up/burned out properties). We felt safe (happy to have security alarm and friendly neighbors). Property spotless with everything we needed.
Great house, everything we needed for a great family vacation. Close to the attractions we wanted to see, aquarium, zoo, and museums. Very clean. Thank you!!
This is great property newly renovated, clean and very close to downtown Atlanta. A great place to be. Only issues is that the yard wasn’t maintained, and the out door chairs where nasty. We could not use the TV in the masters bedroom. We tried all remotes however none worked, that specific TV, we actually had to use one remote for the other 3 TVs, Also the master shower didn’t have any blinds so my wife was uncomfortable taking a shower in the master bedroom. Over all the property is a good place to stay. We would rent her again.
House was perfect for our family group and is way better than multiple hotel rooms. The actual house was very nice and we had no issues at all with it. I will echo the other reviewers that mentioned the neighborhood is in “transition” and wouldn’t want to wander around after, or even near, dark.
