This island home is your perfect vacation getaway!. Our home is located a short walk or even shorter drive from the beach and fishing pier and the golf course is 1/2 mile away! It is just off the bike trail and Salt Creek playground. The home also backs up to Salt Creek, a quiet creek which is great for birding, fishing, or kayaking from the backyard!

Furnished in the latest island style, this home features a gourmet kitchen with stainless appliances and granite countertops, and 3 bathrooms, one with dual shower heads and another with a deep soaking tub. Three bedrooms have direct bath access. The 4th bedroom upstairs has a tv and games., full size bed and two twin beds with Tuft and Needle mattresses. This room is most comfortable for up to 4 children or 3 adults due to bed sizes (2 twin and 1 full).

The outside life is great on Dauphin Island, and you will enjoy the luxury of your own 12 x 20 heated (off season) fun pool. The entire large back porch is screened in so you can enjoy the outdoor life even more! Note that we do not charge extra for pool heating, and are not responsible if weather conditions or occasional mechanical issues prevent the pool from being warm (the pool is a heat pump and will not function in weather under about 50 degrees).

We are located near the multi use bike path, bicycles are available to rent on the island, we do not provide bicycles.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please wash towels as you use them during the week. Last load can be in washer or dryer at departure. Please do not overload
Please clean grill if used and return all beach chairs, etc neatly in storage area below the house
Please keep an eye on the pool water level, leaving the short hose in the pool overnight as it is on a timer. Water must remain halfway up the intake box, please add water if needed.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

The house is beautiful, comfortable and well appointed with all the thoughtful amenities you could hope to have for a family with teens , young children and an infant! This home was exactly as advertised. Close to everything this quiet island has to offer. Pool was fantastic! Store room was stocked with everything you could think of from bikes to beach equipment and everything in between! Ample towels, comfy beds and plenty of space for the 8 adults in our group. The homes built in ice maker was the cherry on top for this stay. It was so nice to not have to purchase ice and have plenty on hand for drinks and coolers! 10 out of 10 would recommend this home!

Girl’s Family vacay

We had a very relaxing family girls vacation and enjoyed it immensely!! The beds were very comfortable and so much space ! Herons nest -dauphin island house was just as described! It was so close to the golf course and restaurants and shops . The house decor was great , and had a wonderful vacation peaceful vibe to it. ALL the extras : games, pool accessories, bikes .. and anything you might need if you forgot to pack . We especially enjoyed the pool and the bird watching was awesome- yes we did get to see the herons and so many other birds !! and also a big plus - the host was quick to respond to any questions .

Dauphin Island is a place to go with family and friends and stay out for the length of vacation. The house was lovely and comfortable and the pool was a must as there just isn't anything else to do in the island.

We are Steve and Julie Kenney. We have built many homes on Dauphin Island, but are now focusing on our custom closet business. We have three sons (two married) and a two grandchildren! . We love Dauphin Island and all there is to do, and the time we spend together, just hanging out at our Dauphin Island homes with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

We purchased the property this home is built on in 2004, the day before Hurricane Ivan flooded the 50 year old home that sat (flat on the ground). We loved this property because of its unique setting on the island - a large, grassy, beautiful location along Salt Creek - just a minute from the beach!

What makes this property unique

Our home has the unique benefit of being centrally located yet private. You'll have lots of place to park and a grassy yard to play in, in addition to a private pool and easy access to the beaches.
