About this property

The Red House on Farmers Mine Road is snuggled in a 2.5 acre cedar forest on a mesa just above Paonia. It's truly a unique setting with stunning 180 degree views of the mountains and river valley. Enjoy glorious sunrises/sunsets and starry, meteor laden nights from the deck, along with visits from raptors, deer, fox, elk and hummingbirds.
Hiking and walking trails are right out your back door. Wineries and tastings are minutes away. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you!

The upstairs has a kitchen, sitting area, bathroom and bedroom (with queen bed) leading to a deck with lovely views; the downstairs has a foyer, two bedrooms, family room, and laundry closet. There are two separate entrances and paths that lead to walking and hiking trails. You can even walk right up the road to Azura Winery! The Red House is located next door to the owners' home but our guests enjoy a very private setting. We are here to welcome you and answer any questions; but we have a separate driveway and you may only see us tending to the flowers on our 2.5 acres!

Very pleasant stay

We had a great time visiting Paonia and the quiet guesthouse was perfectly comfortable for us after our adventures in and around town. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

The Red House

The hosts are fantastic. The house was spotless and well appointed. The hosts left lots of information about the house and things to do in the area. The property was surrounded by nature. We saw a flock of wild turkeys. And the area was very quiet. Loved our stay!

Relaxing in Paonia

We had a great time at this property. It was exactly a advertised and close to town as well as a short walk from an amazing winery. The owners were welcoming and great at explaining everything, very friendly. We would certainly come back!

Breathtaking

Mary is a great host, showed us around, gave a few tips, and was there if we needed her! This place is nestled in a quiet area and the views are beautiful.

My husband, Jim, and I moved to Paonia to escape the hustle and bustle of the front range and we love it! The views, the people, the lifestyle all make the valley a very unique place to live. We feel very fortunate to have found our little piece of heaven on Garvin Mesa and look forward to hosting folks who visit!

What makes this property unique

The town of Paonia is only a 5 minutes' drive but at the guesthouse you'll have peace and quiet. We are on 2.5 acres and can't see our neighbors and usually the only sounds you will hear are roosters crowing, birds singing, and horses whinnying. You can access trails where you will see no one else and you can walk to three wineries.
