Relax with expansive views of Lake Superior as you bask in the glow of the wood fireplace's radiance. Waves echoing off the brownstone cliff upon which this special home is perched, absorb the splendor of bald and golden eagles soaring only feet away.

Minutes from your nest is Meyer's Beach, the common entry point to begin your kayak or hiking excursion to the sea and ice caves of this, the greatest of all lakes. Bike, hiking, motorsports, class one trout fishing, waterfalls and XC ski trails abound.

*The entire, two bedroom home that is Sky Fire is your private oasis away from home.

Seasonally, bathe in warm sunlight while relaxing in the south facing, enclosed front porch. Enjoy sitting around the fire pit in the front yard as you soak up the beauty of Lake Superior a stone's throw away. Your wonderful day having turned to night, the dark, amazingly starry sky over Lake Superior may grace the night owl with a show of the magically colorful northern lights. Well behaved, non-destructive, potty-trained dogs are welcome.

Snowmobile and ATV trails/routes are nearby. The area also has world class, well maintained fat tire bike trails that are groomed for winter riding. Wanna mush your own sled team of dogs? That's available nearby as well.

Indoors fun and gaming more your speed? Just short of Bayfield, nearby "Legendary Water's and Casino," awaits your arrival.

A peaceful, 1.3 mile walk from the home will have you stepping foot onto a glorious sandy swimming beach. With Lake Superior literally lapping at your feet, this beach stretches over a mile to the quaint town of Cornucopia where you'll find the marina, coffee shop, restaurant/bar, art and the, "It has everything" general store that is *Ehler's.

A 23 mile drive into Bayfield, WI will take you to a charming community serving tourist and locals alike, all of whom have an affinity for the allure of the nearby Apostle Islands that await your visit. Just a short ferry ride away, quaint Madeline Island is yours to explore and enjoy.

The place was awesome! The hosts were friendly and helpful working through a wi-fi/electrical outage issue and are clearly very passionate about the area! Nothing beats a fire and watching shooting stars. Comfy, clean, had everything we needed and more.

The pictures don't do this place justice! A beautiful home with an amazing view. We had such a wonderful time exploring the Apostle Islands and the Bayfield/Cornucopia area, and this was a great place to make our home base. The host was kind and enjoyable to visit with.

This house was amazing, was equipped with anything and everything you would ever need for your stay, the firepit outside was perfect for the cool evenings. We did bring our own wood so that we could have as many fires as we wanted for the four night that we were there. Sarah and Ellie were amazing host., if you get a chance to do the boat tour with Ellie, don’t pass it up. She is very well informed on everything about the lake and its culture! It’s way better than the tour cruise that you do for apostle Island, make sure you do all reserves in the whole area. They are amazing. Beds are very comfortable. Home is very accommodating with very nice utensils and cookware and bakeware as needed very clean and very updated. Will definitely stay here again and again.

Great nature retreat

Lovely yard and spectacular view of the lake. Very upscale furnishings and bountiful kitchen and bath equipment and supplies. Highly recommend.

Stunning views & great host

We absolutely loved our stay at Sky Fire! The location can't be beat - the sunsets are incredible. The kitchen was very well equipped and we felt right at home. Eli was staying next door and was so welcoming and kind!! Also loved that our dog, Penny, was welcome to join! Will definitely be visiting again some day!!!

What a lovely wooded lakeside retreat!

We were a family gathering together for a few days at peak fall color. We all loved the home, the view, the fireplace and the quiet community. We took advantage of the two suggested hikes nearby, which were both wonderful. And Lake Superior is always beautiful.

Mother/Daughter SNOW ❄️ Babies Birthday trip! It has a wonderful view of Lake Superior. This property was easy to find, great U shape driveway & the cabin was stocked very well with extra blankets, towels and kitchen had everything we needed!

We returned to Skye Fire for the second time.

We enjoyed our first week at Skype Fire in 2021 and looked forward to a return this summer with our two young grandkids. The home is comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, loads of fresh towels and a beautiful view of Lake Superior. Hope to return again soon.

Comfortable and quiet

My husband, son and I spent a long weekend relaxing, hiking, and enjoying the view. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Erin communicated well and even made sure we had an instapot for our chili. Despite the rain and lack of winter snow, we still found plenty of beaches and trails to explore nearby.

Great getaway

This is a lovely place to get away and unplug. The house is well-kept and nicely appointed. We didn't find ourselves lacking anything we expected. The view of the lake is fantastic, with glorious sunsets. The only downside is that there were a lot of mosquitos (early July). Be prepared with several types of insect repellant.

As perfect as it can get!

Great location, accessible, wonderful kitchen, views, furniture was comfortable, quiet, easy to get to Port wing, Herbster and Cornucopia to explore. Loved, loved,loved the wood burning fireplace. Great shower, yard and easy access to the area. We signed up for 2022 already.

AWESOME!

You walk into the cabin and there "she", Lake Superior, is in all her glory. We had spectacular views of Lake Superior and could see all the way to Minnesota. The only bad thing about the cabin was the furniture was dirty and full of dog hair. The furniture was also very uncomfortable. Other than that, we had a good time.

Trash in yard

This from my sister, Gail Trowbridge. I was ill and unable to come. Property was completely open including windows. Garage was open. Lots of trash scattered about yard (animals?). Mice in kitchen. Kind of creepy goat artwork, but that’s personal taste.

Too many mosquitos in the house

The house itself was fine and had a great view. However, we had a big problem with mosquitoes inside and outside. We initially thought they got in the house when we were bringing in bags, but after killing dozens, they kept appearing. We could not go outside or keep the windows open. We only rented for two days and three nights and had to leave early. We reached out to our contact and did not hear back. In addition, the lawn was overgrown and a landscaper came to mow the lawn during our second of two days. The mosquitos made it a very unpleasant stay.

Disappointed

I really regret posting this review. I sent the owner an email with pictures on stains on the couch, garbage lid dirty, inside door of dishwasher dirty, rusting base board heaters and inside the sink base cabinet was filthy. This was all upon check-in. Not what you'd expect from the great location of this VRBO. I've stayed in a lot of them. I refrained from posting any of this and sent an email that the general public would not see. That was on July 4th, a couple of days after our trip. I received no response. I sent a 2nd email on July 14th and no response. I was just trying to be kind and share with the owner the things we saw. I figured they are paying for someone to clean the property and thought they would appreciate the feedback. I'm not sure why the owner could not respond to me. I explained I was not asking for anything, rather just sharing our experience with him or her. After not receiving any response from the owner, we would not stay at this property again.

Sky Fire is an awesome place to stay! The kitchen is so well stocked with high quality cookware and even a gas range. The decor is classy and comfortable. Very clean place! The best thing is our black Labrador was welcome there. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

We had our golden retriever with us and two grandchildren and both of our kids. We have a thing for Lake Superior! This was front and center! Easy to get to the big top and Bayfield and hiking trails! It is a gem!

Comfy, cozy and clean. Sky Fire was a beautiful home base that gave us easy access to the Corny, Herbster and Bayfield areas. We explored local shops, enjoyed great meals and some of the best blueberry picking. We explored beaches and hunted for yooperlite, experienced the brightest rainbow of our lives and still had plenty of down time to read, talk and recharge.
