About this property

Stone Cottage in Spring City

Experience the simple life in one of Spring City's original pioneer homes. The Stone Cottage will take you back in time, and remind you what is truly important. Just a short one hour drive from Provo (or one hour, forty five min. from Salt Lake) yet you feel like you are worlds away.

Built in 1860, it was one of the first stone homes in the community. The mason was paid “a young steer and 2 dollars a day” to lay the thick stone walls, and the cottage has retained its sense of history and permanence. Yet it has been recently restored, and enjoys all the modern conveniences that we expect today.

With the original wood plank floors and 2-foot thick stone walls, you will be charmed by the history in the cozy living room. It is like stepping back in time, and will make for a memorable stay in one of the loveliest towns in the country.

Enjoy our small, but hardworking kitchen, which is fully equipped for cooking delicious meals for your small group. You will find everything you need to make your stay comfortable, so you can focus on exploring the town, hiking & rock climbing Maple or Spring City Canyons, Golfing at Palisades Park, or taking part in the community events.

The cottage has one large bedroom, a bathroom and a washer & dryer for your convenience. It is the perfect size for a couple's get-away, or for a small family - and has all you need for your perfect escape. Relax, breath and take in this beautiful historic town, the art, and all the charm it has to offer.

The Stone Cottage is one of three homes at Spring Farm - for large groups, rent them together, or find our Spring Farm website for more information.

Wonderful, historic property, beautifully presented.
We enjoyed our stay at this beautifully appointed historic home. It is small and lovely with an open field and all the modern amenities you would like. It is perfectly located in one of the best spots of the city. The city itself is a gem. The hosts were pleasant and quick to answer any questions. It was spotlessly, clean and neat. We loved our stay.

Absolutely adorable little cottage from the 1860s, with low doorframes and slanty floors. Very well-kept and functional with amenities in good working order. Will stay again when in town for arts/music events.

Take a break from the world
I'm a little reluctant to review this and attract more visitors. I'd like to keep this as my own secluded spot to stay. Spring City is such a charming town, it feels like you're away from the busyness of the world and you can just enjoy a quaint spot. The house is charming, rich in history and perfect in every way. We felt like turning on the TV would corrupt the experience, it's that kind of peaceful.

I love travel, good food, people from all cultures and even better... enjoying all these things with my husband and 5 kids. We have loved being a part of the VRBO community and it has opened the world to us in a new way. We have traveled to New York, Alaska, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and England.

Why they chose this property

We adore Spring City and this beautiful pioneer home built in 1860! Spring City has been a haven for us and we are excited to share it with you! My husband and I also own Hollyhock House another Pioneer home built in 1873 on the same city block. It can sleep 9 people. My sisters own the beautiful Farmhouse at Spring Farm which is located on the property just next to mine. For large groups you can book all 3 places including their beautiful white barn for events. I look forward to meeting you and sharing with you a place I love!
