Charming old stone cottage in the heart of the mountains in the Ecrins

"Chez Louisette", an authentic mountain cottage, in a little corner of paradise!
Located at 1400m above sea level, ideal for lovers of peace and nature, the gîte is located in the heart of the hamlet of Fermonds, in the Champoléon valley, at the entrance to the Ecrins National Park. From the house, ten minutes of walking will be enough to enter the heart of the Park…
This authentic old stone house, with a surface of 110m², can ideally accommodate 6 people. The ground floor consists of an entrance (serving WC and shower room), a kitchen - dining room (good level of equipment but no dishwasher) and a living room with stove wood (TV, DVD player, books, board games…). Upstairs, three bedrooms: a large bedroom with double bed, communicating with a bedroom with two single beds (ideal for 2 children) and another large room with double bed and reading corner. Outside, private garden with garden furniture. Easy access by car, parking 30 meters from the house. Possibility to use the owners washing machine (50m). Inns in the valley and shops at 8km. Electric bike rental on site.
The spirit of the place: Hélène and Stéphane will be happy to make you discover this little corner of paradise! They will be able to share with you their daily life and their passion for the mountains, in all seasons. Summer: organic gardening and permaculture, fruit and vegetable processing, bread making in an old banal oven and visit to the family chicken coop! Winter: snowshoeing and cross-country skiing from the house, and especially cross-country skiing (possibility of lessons for all levels with Stéphane, former member of the French Nordic ski team)… And all year round, many activities are available nearby: hikes (starting from trails from the hamlet), mountain biking, lake and leisure center, downhill skiing (5 stations nearby), sled dogs, ice climbing… So dare to disconnect and going green! Unplug your laptops and enjoy ...

Charming Mountain Cottage

We loved everything about this charming home! The owners were extremely friendly, helpful and informative. The trailhead for the hike to the Chalets du Tourrond that the owners recommended was steps from the home. I would highly recommend this home for its close proximity to wonderful hiking, it’s beautiful setting and because the owners were so helpful.

We had a very restful vacation in a very beautiful environment where chalet from the hosts Helene and Stephane is situated. The first vacation where we choose to not make use of WiFi -> we can recommend it to everyone :) We made some nice hikes in the mountains where you can start from you're front door ! Places you can visit are: Pont-du-Fossé (bread, cheese, small supermarket). Prakic, a very old village where you can make several nice hikes. Beautiful house with a marvellous view and in an amazing area.

We have stayed for 14 days in this beautiful characteristic French house. It is located in a very small village with only a few houses and at the end of the road. A very nice place to get some rest and take some distance from your work. Also a very good starting point for trips (on foot) in the mountains. The hosts are living nearby and are very kind and helpful. We have enjoyed our stay very much! Margret and Kees

Petit coin de paradis dans la nature.

Le gîte "Chez Louisette" est un petit coin de paradis pour ceux qui cherchent le calme, la nature et un lieu authentique. Hélène et Stéphane nous ont très bien accueillis. Ils ont été très gentils et disponibles. Nous avons passé une semaine magique au milieu des montagnes enneigées. Nous avons pu faire des balades en raquettes, du ski de fond, du ski de piste, du patinage. Les enfants ont adoré, nous aussi. Nous reviendrons !
