About this property
Port Sanilac Log Cabin--Incredibly Cute!
Warm, cozy, and charming 2 bedroom (plus loft), 1 and 1/2 bath genuine 100+ year old authentic log cabin! Sleeps 6 in beds and 2 more on a queen sofa pull-out couch.
Unplug and enjoy getting away! Just a short 3 minute walk to the fantastic Lake Huron beach. Situated off the beaten path, on a gravel road surrounded by pine trees with a grassy side yard for outdoor play. Just located 1 ½ hour drive from metro Detroit in the beautiful “Thumb”, this is the up north escape you've been looking for, minus the 4+ hour drive up I-75. Here’s your chance to unplug and enjoy. This log cabin, a throwback to simpler times but with some creature comforts, such as streaming, WiFi, central air and heat, a fireplace, and hot tub, provide simpler things a vacation has to offer. Lake Huron, games, puzzles, books, toys, and much more are there to help you relax and reconnect with your family.
Situated just a short walk (5 driveways) on a gravel road to the incredible Lake Huron "Gold Coast" sandy beach and park. Walk into the front door of this 800 square foot cabin from the 9x21 foot front deck and you'll instantly feel relaxed and content with its hardwood floors, knotty pine walls, log beam ceilings and charming atmosphere. The 12 x 14 living room features 2 couches (one is a queen-sized sleeper sofa), a ceiling fan. This is an authentic log cabin. There is a gas log fireplace that keeps this cabin warm and cozy on chilly nights; and 2 ceiling fans, to keep you cool in the summer.
The well-appointed kitchen features an electric cooktop, sink, beautiful custom wood cabinets, fully stocked with pots/pans, flatware, dishes, glasses; small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster, waffle iron, crockpot, skillet, toaster oven, hand mixer, and blender. The dinette is surrounded by windows overlooking the beautiful pine trees. There are 2 bedrooms and a sleeping loft, with blankets, sheets and pillows. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed with two night stands; the second bedroom has 2 bunk beds. The loft is accessible by a wooden ladder and has a queen-sized mattress. Because of the low head room and the ladder access, this area is perfect for adventurous kids. The sofa in the living room pulls out to a queen-sized bed. The cabin also houses one and one half bathrooms.
The log shed on the property stores stack chairs, and 2 bicycles, beach toys, and a wagon for your convenience to take toys to the beach, plus additional storage. A 6 x 10 deck is on the north side of the cabin, ideal for reading a book and hearing the whispering of the wind in the pine trees and waves of the mighty Lake Huron. It also houses the new hot tubs. Other amenities: 5 minute walk to Willis Market (grocery store); Port Sanilac shopping, marina, and restaurants are a short distance away; city water, ceiling fans in the living area and bedroom. There is an outdoor shower off the back porch to rinse the sand off after a day of playing at the beach or outside. The living room features a flat screen TV with Blu-ray DVD player, the main bedroom has a flat screen as well.
The log cabin is an ideal get away for a couple or a family for a long weekend or a longer vacation.
***We wish you a fantastic time, enjoying all that the Thumb area and Lake Huron has to offer. We work very hard to keep our log cabin nice. Please respect our property and treat it as if it is your own.

This place is awesome!!! Quiet, comfortable and yet close to town and beaches!!! Which was a big plus for the kids! Water was beautiful, I hope I can come AGAIN!!
It took us 6 years but we finally made it back to the log cabin! We love it here. It is so cute and perfect for a relaxing lake vacation. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us.John and Laura
We can out just to “get away” and had a wonderful time, the cabin was perfect and met all of our needs. The firepit set up was perfect, the kids played outside and had a blast. Beach day was perfect with the water being so easily accessible. Thanks again!
We really enjoyed staying at the cabin. It's close proximity to the Lake and downtown Port Sanilac was convenient. The cabin itself brought back many childhood memories.

Thank you for your review! You were a great guest. Hope you come again!
We didn't have the greatest weather when we were there, but we still had a lovely time, cozy in the cabin in the rain, and out on the nearby beach when the clouds broke.

Thank you for your review and the note you left in the guest took. We enjoyed reading your comments. Glad you had a relaxing stay. Please keep us in mind for your next get away.
This was just the kind of place we were looking for. The cabin is cozy, clean, and has everything you need for a “rustic” stay. Plenty to see and do in town and up and down the coast too.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope you come back!
Thus log cabin had all the charm of a 100+ year old cottage, and so close to the softest sand in Port Sanilac. The cabin had everything we needed and is in a great location. The kids said that they want to stay here again soon!

Thank you for your review! We think you should honor the kids’ requests and come again soon!
Was a great little vacation in this cute little cabin. We enjoyed the fire pit and being close to the beach. They did provided toys for kids and bikes to ride. However all the inter tubes in the bike tires are popped except the tandem bike, so we couldn’t ride the bikes. But over all would recommend 10/10
We loved our stay at this one of a kind cabin. Convenient location to the beach. Clean, well stocked, and unique.

Why they chose this property
The "sunrise coast" of Michigan has that "up north" feel and is far enough away from the metro Detroit area without the long drive and traffic of most "up north" Michigan destinations. Walk the sandy beach looking for petoskey stones and beach glass, skip stones, paddle, and swim in the blue water or go fishing. Shopping, golf, museums, farmers market, theatre, restaurants, wineries and area attractions are near by.
What makes this property unique
This genuine 100 year log cabin is well maintained and has the amenities so you can relax in comfort and enjoy the lake breezes whispering through the mature pine trees on the property. It is warm and welcoming from the moment you pull up and enter the cabin. And it's incredibly cute!!
