We loved staying here! Our favorite things were the back deck, river, fire areas, privacy, and basement gameroom area! The cabin is beautiful and cozy!
We had a great time at Creek-N-Awesome. The riverfront is the highlight and we made great use of the wood burning stove on the back porch. Host is very responsive and the cabin is in a good location to Blue Ridge and the apple orchards. Check out Folk Collaborative just up the road for some excellent coffee and pastries. We hope to be back one day.
We loved our stay at Creek-N-Awesome! We spent lots of time sitting on the porch listening to the creek! We came for trout fishing and caught lots of trout nearby! The property was perfect for our dog to wander around and she loved the dog corral! Rick was a great host and checked in with us upon arrival and when we left! It was a perfect stay in Blue Ridge!
We loved the area. I was under the impression that the cabin was closer to Blue Ridge, but it was actually closer to McCayesville. Beautiful area and the cabin has 4 beds and a sleeper sofa. There was a nice living room, kitchen dining area we enjoyed each night.
Creek n awesome was just as described. Beautiful location. Fully stocked. Plenty of space for our extended family. The hot tub, air hockey, pool table and fishing kept the kiddos very busy and happy. We’d love to return sometime.
Very spacious comfortable cabin with amazing screened porch overlooking fightingTown Creek. Fishing, wading, floating or relaxing on the beach, this cabin is all about the creek.
The cabin pictures do not do it justice and we found the cabin to be much nicer than displayed. A great property with everything you need for a great time. The beds were comfy and the cabin was very clean with lots of extra items like kitchen supplies and appliances. Access to the water for fishing was easy. Rick checked in to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. Definitely will stay again and looking forward to it!
From initial contact through checkout process, the communication was great. I stayed over the weekend with the family and dogs and it was an amazing time. The cabin layout is well put together and was actually bigger than expected. All of the necessities and more were in the cabin. I loved back porch with the wood burner fireplace, it had seating and was enclosed while still enjoying the view of the outside and the cool air. My wife loved the riverside firepit, it also had seating and picnic table along with the hammock which she enjoyed with the babies along the relaxing sound of the river flowing. Overall the experience was a fantastic one, the cabin was great and welcoming and I would highly recommend it.
Owner was so easy to work with. The cabin was amazing and was well stocked with everything we needed. We will definitely return.

Wonderful cabin & setting!!! Only negative, drive your SUV, tight 1+ mile gravel road to cabin.
Although very, very remote, the cabin and setting are fabulous!!! We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We plan to go back and take the kids next time.

Great getaway location
Very nice house in a great location. The fireplace on the deck has all the benefits of a campfire but is much more comfortable :). We didn't ever feel the need/desire to leave the property during our four day stay. Spent the days fishing, only saw one other person (kayaking fisherman) during our stay, and our nights on the deck eating and playing Uno. A great place to "rough it" in the wilderness.
The Cabin was nice and secluded and we enjoyed the property overall. There are some things that needed to be fixed w the property and given what we were spending per night I would expect these to be fixed for future guests.

Fabulous remote location with beautiful river
Lots of activity right there at the cabin. Pkenty if room for a larger group. Great place for the dogs to explore. Loved the screen porch and fireplace. A new coffee carafe would be welcome. Was glad I brought my french press.
Close to water...wonderful decor. Clean bedrooms and bathrooms...Be prepared for intermittent phone service, depending on the carrier. No land line phone. Fireplaces and outdoor fire pit were very nice.
First class stay all around. The location right on the (more 'raging' than I expected) river was gorgeous. Drive to the cabin was easy...no white knuckle driveways up a mountain cliff like many of our past cabin rentals. The decor and amenities were all super nice and felt more lived in and less rental property...artwork, lamps, blankets, statues, etc. all themed perfectly for a mountain house that really made the stay great. Probably the best decorated spot of any of our cabin rentals. Never had an issue with anything missing that was listed. The satellite internet is spotty at best, but you get used to it. I had a few minor questions about the place during my stay and the owner returned each question within the minute. About 25 minute drive into downtown Blue Ridge but you pass right past the Orchard so you can swing by each time you head to town for goodies.
So overall great, great place. We head to the mountains every spring break and this cabin ranked towards the top of our favorite places. Highly recommended...for location, for amenities, for 'mountain feel', for everything.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property and would book again.
Things we Loved: 1) Large property with Creek running through it. Kids (and adults) enjoyed tubing the creek, exploring the woods and sitting by the fire pit.
2) Enjoyed the fireplace on the porch.
3) Enjoyed the recreation room on the lower level.
Things we wished were better: 1) No Wifi. Owner stated he was waiting on a new router. Cell phone reception is spotty at best. Could get one bar of cell phone when outside... inside cabin rarely could get service. With the lack of wifi this was very disappointing as we needed to get a few emails and quick communication with the office sitting on the front porch, fighting off mosquitos and the rain.
Things to know:
1) No Wifi (maybe this will be fixed shortly?)
2) The description notes that there is one other cabin located on the driveway to the property. That cabin is actually located about 30 yards from this cabin. There are some trees that block the view. However, it doesn't block the noise that comes from residents staying next door. We were awakened several times by the neighbors dog that liked to bark from 7am-8am and again from 7pm to 8pm. The dog got loose one day and was running through "our" yard. Neighbor kids (7-8yrs old) were running through "our" yard trying to catch it, finally some adults came over and got the dog. Later that evening the neighbors' kids came over, while we were sitting at the outside fire pit and were using "our" area to enter the creek with their tubes. Late at night you could hear the adults on their porch drinking and talking. We were expecting solitude and the ability to enjoy the sounds of nature without interruption. Unfortunately that didn't occur. I'm assuming that the neighbors also rented the cabin next door, so, your experience may vary.
3) We saw four deer on our way pulling into the driveway upon arrival. We never saw them again... we assumed this was due to dog and residents noise next door. Pretty disappointing.
4) We tried fishing the creek every day/evening of our stay and we didn't catch a thing. Perhaps wrong time of the year? Regardless it was fun trying.
5) The window blinds are transparent (only a problem if neighbors wander over)
Things to do: 1) Mercier Orchard, 2) River Rafting on the Ococee, 3)Tubing
Overall property is as described and provided everything one would need. Other than lack of Wifi and the next door neighbors we enjoyed our stay.
Very nice property and amenities. Loved the outdoor fireplace and the space by the creek. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It made for a wonderful getaway with just me and my husband but the house has space for a lot more than just 2 people.
We had a great time on our trip. We had a couple of issues but Rick got it taken care of right away. Rick always responds very quickly. We will definitely love to stay at Creek-N-Awesome in the future.
Lovely place! Close to downtown. Fully stocked kitchen was great! Driveway is gravel so a little difficult to get up. Owner is quick to communicate !would stay again. Plenty of room.

About the host

I've lived in Atlanta area since 1999. This cabin was purchased new in 2007 and has been on a rental program since then. I am only 1 1/2 hours from the cabin so I constantly check in when it's not rented and make sure things are in order.
Why they chose this property
This cabin sits at the end of the road behind a privacy gate that only has one other cabin. No other cabins across the river. You can enjoy a lot of privacy and tranquility.
What makes this property unique
Sitting on the screened porch with a wood burning fire while listening to the river below.
