Buttermilk Bay Waterfront Retreat

Two Floors of Beautiful Beachfront Summer Living
Five bedroom, two bath, full kitchen home--steps to the beach. Our home is in a private setting with a large sunny deck and all the amenities for a great vacation. Two floors connected by outside stairs and each floor has its own bath. Separate downstairs provides privacy between families if desired. Three bedrooms upstairs(two with doubles and one with couch--great for storing baggage or private reading area) and two bedrooms downstairs.
Kayaking (two available), swimming, sailing(Sunfish available), fishing, nearby boat launch and beach activities are just steps away.
Watch the sunrise from the upper living room. Use the full service kitchen or take advantage of lots of restaurants and activities nearby.
Access to Cape Cod without the traffic hassle. Gas grill, kayaks, Sunfish, beach chairs/towels, wifi, Smart TV, washer, dryer, AC, games, puzzles etc.
Buttermilk is a tranquil bay with an outlet to greater Buzzards Bay near the mouth of the Cape Cod Canal. The beach in front of our home is great for sunbathing, sandcastles, splashing in the shallow water or just reading a book. The Indian Mound Beach association beach is adjacent to our beach and has a no boats allowed swimming area,

Reservations are generally from Saturday to Saturday. Multiple weeks and partial weeks may be negotiated.

Relaxing vacation

Great location. Near main street or anything else you might need. Perfect backyard view with a fire pit. Easy access to the beach. Quick and easy check in and out.

Great waterfront spot!

Relaxing vacation. Property owner was very easy to work with. Enjoyed kayaking on the bay. Loved when the swans swam by. Great location for biking on the Cape Cod Canal.

This house is in a great neighborhood and right on the shore with easy access down some stairs to the beach. We enjoyed ourselves, especially because the house is a family home that is very well-supplied with kitchen equipment and beach gear. Thank you Deb!

Perfect Place

Rider compound was the perfect place for our family vacation. Water view was terrific sun rise was tremendous. Spacious home, lovely deck and close to everything we wanted. Deb was quick to answer a couple of questions. Would recommend highly to anyone looking for a relaxing spot.

Relaxing Getaway!

Perfect spot for our family. Owner was very easy to work with and property was as described. Our young children (ages 6, 5 and 3) loved playing on the beach and in the shallow, calm water all week. If you wanted to venture out there is plenty in the area although we spent most of our time hanging out at the beach. The adults in the family enjoyed the kayaks and the fire pit at night. Overall a perfectly relaxing location!

The location was excellent- waterfront on Little Buttermilk Bay, quiet space with comfortable home

The location was everything. Right on the beach by a beautiful bay. We loved using the kayaks provided and swimming in the bay. The view was outstanding; the house very comfortable; the amenities all provided; very close to excellent restaurants and easy to get onto Cape Cod. I highly recommend this property for a relaxing and quiet get-away.

Great Family Getaway

Debbie was very responsive and helpful. The property, location, and supplies were perfect for our family and two young kids (2 and 4). It was great to have access to everything we needed for beach and bay play - kayaks, life jackets, chairs, sand toys, sun umbrellas, etc.! The only heads up for families with little ones is that the bathrooms have shower stalls only, not bath tubs. However, we had the bay and the little ones learned how to shower! The basement level felt a bit damp at times, likely due to the very high amounts of rain this summer, but there were dehumidifiers there to help. It was very helpful to have laundry on site, too.

Family time at Buttermilk Bay

What a lovely home and relaxing peaceful neighborhood. We loved making memories on this two week vacation. Beds were comfy. The showers were a little small for some of us. There was a little inconvenience with the different floors of the home and having to go outside to get to one floor to another, especially on the rainy days. We were there for the Fourth of July and what an amazing firework display right in our backyard!!! And use of the kayaks was a plus. The neighbors made us feel “wicked” welcomed. Working with Debbie to plan this vacation was seamless. Jenn

Excellent location and amenities

We had a really nice time at Debbie's house right on the bay. There were six of us in total including our two kids (9 & 5) and my wife's parents. We enjoyed using the kayaks and sailboat as well as doing lots of swimming while we were there. There was plenty of space to enjoy meals with all six of us on the large back deck or in the upstairs area when we preferred to eat in the A/C. The kitchen was very well equipped as we cooked many meals in. The whole house was well cleaned and the check in process was simple.

Great Vacation!

We had a wonderful vacation and loved the property. The beach was so close and great for our daughter to swim. Deb was very responsive throughout the whole process. We hope to return here again!

We are three siblings who have spent countless vacations and weekends at our family cottage on Buttermilk Bay. Our great grandmother had the original cottage built in the 1920's and it has undergone several upgrades and expansions since then. Most recently in 2014. 2019 is the first year we are opening our home up to renters and we are looking for small groups that will take the same care that we do.

Why they chose this property

Our property is great for small groups, would be ideal for young families as the bay is serene and you can easily watch your young ones from the beach directly in front of the house. Castle building, crab catching and minnow chasing are a familiar sport for young beachgoers. This would also be a perfect getaway for up to 3 couples--winding down on the waterfront deck is a fabulous end of the day!
